Nothing in the tasting really stood out and we didn't end up buying a bottle of anything because the tastings are set. You can't really choose off the menu because not everything is available to try. We came for the annual Christmas in Petite, so it was quite busy and many wines weren't available which was a bummer. It would have been nice to select our own options to sample as there is a cost, so not sure we'll make the trip down from the Valley unless it's another annual event. The terrace is really lovely but the furniture could use some updating. Some cute bistro sets would be nice instead of overly bulky chairs and benches that are tough to move. Service was great and friendly so no complaints there. Overall, still worth visiting for location and the scenery, but as wine drinkers, this is pretty low on our list of faves simply because there wasn't much to try that we were interested in.

She was extremely knowledgeable about the area (Halifax, Gaspereau Valley, and Annapolis Valley) and the wineries. She went above and beyond to make sure that we all enjoyed ourselves, including stopping at an overlook for some quick pics and a farmer's market for some extra snacks. There is a smallish bar/galley area inside, with a covered, all weather and all year round solarium attached, a small patio and lawn beyond that. They offer beer/cider and wine samplers which I'd strongly recommend. I went for the four reds they produce, and thoroughly enjoyed them all, especially the 1763 Unhinged. The menu is quite extensive, and we went for a pizza each, Bent Ridge Belly for me, Fig and Onion for the wife. Both were delicious and of generous size. I tried their ginger infused rough cider, which was excellent and quite novel. I was also treated to a gratis glass of the Maple Porter. The restaurant affords pleasant views across the valley and is nicely appointed, with a variety of seating and can cater for fairly large groups. Service was a delight and the eventual bill of almost exactly $100 not onerous by today's standards. Will definitely have to visit again. And this time I'll take a growler and buy some of their craft beer.

Coming from Northern California Wine Country, we were excited to try the local wine and we were not disappointed! The tasting room is located in a beautiful old church, which was relocated from another located. The story of the move, which includes a float down a river, is documented on the walls of a side room. This, along with several paintings and the stained glass windows, gives visitors plenty to explore while enjoying a tasting. We enjoyed all the wine we tasted, most of which were white. I'm a fan of big bold reds, but have to give a big shout out to Avondale Sky's Lady Slipper rose', as well as their ice wine. Both were fabulous. Avondale Sky Winery is worth a visit! I only wish we had tried their restaurant.
