6/4/23 WOW WOW WOW!!! I was lucky enough to be invited to a beautiful wedding here at Lucien's Manor. This is definitely my kind of place with the bling and Crystal enormous chandeliers, beautiful fountains and Grecian statues that are larger than life! The ceremony space had a huge skylight and a large window where the couple stood enabling you to see the stone bridge, rock fountains, etc. so much beauty!! After the ceremony we were directed to "The Chantilly" room and the display and selection of appetizers knocked my socks off! There was a salad station- cold area with cheese, crackers, fresh fruit, roasted beets, salmon, caprese salad and much much more! There was an Italian station w pasta, meatballs, sausage, pizza, then carved pork and skirt steak area, lots of seafood and even a mashed potato bar and a macaroni and cheese bar. Stupendous! Every time I got up I found something new to try. The wedding space was elegant and large for all to enjoy. We ordered the filet and that was served with tasty asparagus, potatoes, a peeled carrot and a light gravy sauce. I was very happy with all the desserts I tried too. The staff was ultra pleasant and attentive. This was a first class affair. I loved my time at Lucien's Manor and if you have the chance to attend or host an event there I know you will too. I have been to two weddings at this venue ( my sister and really good friend). The ceremony halls were the most beautiful I have ever seen. Each wedding had a cocktail hour and the food and beverages usually open bar was phenomenal. It's crazy how the food at the cocktail hour can make you feel like it's the main meal. All of the staff are always smiling and so helpful. I danced the night away an had the best time in two diffrent but very beautiful reception halls. Writing this at 10pm after getting home from the wedding of a lifetime. While the love made the day the venue did the rest. Easily accessible and right off the pike sits what is now my favorite event venue EVER. If you're considering using Lucien's PLEASE DO AND INVITE ME! From start to finish the venue was pristine, the staff attentive and the food A1! The wedding took place in a room with so much natural light you needn't flip a switch. You looked outside and saw shrubbery, looked above and saw the sky. Post ceremony we be were ushered by a man w/ the nicest fade I have EVER seen on a white man to a room called the 'chantilly' I believe...not sure because my mouth was hanging open from chandeliers to the crown moldings. Here's where things started to get REALLY good. The cocktail hour started w/ experienced bartenders & Grand Marnier walnut shrimp. Yup yup that's where I started. They also had Mac & cheese, several cheese, fruit & meat boards then bruschetta, 3 diff types of steak, yea I can't name it all but I really thought we were done w/ food here. Light music & immaculate vibes til we were ready for dinner & dancing. We took the shortest walk to the formal dining room adorned in gold moldings, stone flooring and ceilings as high as snoop dog. The lighting was incredible, acoustics 2nd to none and the staff continued to be phenomenal. Organized and efficient I've never not had 1 critique but my only issue is that I had to leave. But after the teary toasts and dining came dessert & I legit made a s'mores over an open flame and had the BEST espresso! There was also lemonchello cake (not the wedding cake), donuts and waffles & ice cream with all the fixings. I'm sure the price is steep but it's got to be worth it. I spent 30k on my wedding & didn't have this much fun! The bride & groom couldn't say enough good things about Lucjens and as a guest I was floored start to finish. Besides the amazing ambiance and delicious food and drink, the staff needs extensive training on how to speak to guests. Accusing a guest of underage drinking, not giving said guest ANY beverage at all to toast the bride and groom with and confronting two adults about minors being at a table with alcohol were a few of the highlights. Minors are permitted to attend receptions and should not be made to feel uncomfortable. Even those of age were approached with nastiness until proving their age. The above behavior was not addressed with management at the event as to not upset the bride and groom. However, the accusatory nature of their communication and overall behavior was appalling and an embarrassment to the place of business. read more

What a beautiful wedding venue. I was a bridesmaid for a good friends wedding this past weekend and the Lucien's grounds and staff made the entire event beautiful. Steve, the bridal attendant we had, was our hero. He was attentive without being overbearing, was quick to bring us drinks and food while we waited to enter the reception hall, and gave the bride and groom the attention they needed. The layout of the room was a bit different than other weddings I'd been to. The tables were circled around the dance floor instead of around the stage , which made it better for the crowd to be involved in the programs but difficult for them to see the bride and groom. The bride and groom didn't spend much time on the stage either way. I loved that there was a separate room for desserts from the dance floor - it made it easy for you to take a break and spend time in a different area yet still have a great time. read more

My daughter's wedding was just this past weekend (October 30, 2021) and we had chosen Lucien's Manor (Berlin NJ) as the venue. As the father of the bride, you want to do everything that you can to provide the most perfect wedding that you can for your daughter. Lucien's ensured that I was able to do that and at an incredibly reasonable cost! Every single staff member we encountered was incredibly helpful. It reminded me of a Disney property in that all of the "cast" are charged with making your experience very personal and exceptional. Everyone had smiles and you never heard the word "no". Everyone went out of their way to make you feel special. Christina (our wedding coordinator) walked us through the process of how to plan the day and picking the menu, etc. She was absolutely fabulous, even ensuring a last-minute cake "issue" was rectified in plenty of time for the event. She made my daughter (the bride) totally confident that everything would be handled. Matt (the "Day-Of" coordinator) worked closely with us during the rehearsal (and helped with instructions to the out-of-town Bridal party members who missed the actual rehearsal). The day of the event went perfectly as he kept everything on-time and running smoothly. He also ensured we had everything ready to be picked up post-event the next day. Wendy the Maître D' and Emmy the Bridal Attendant, managed to service my guests and my daughter with a friendly smile and superior customer service, attending to our every need / request. Kim, the server responsible for my particular table, was a superstar. Of special mention, Brian and Tony were the most efficient and friendly bartenders in recent experience. There was never a line at the bar (and our guests like to drink!) and they were really hustling. They really helped make the event special. The staff at Lucien's made me look like a genius as my guests remarked at how it was the absolute best wedding they have ever been to, from the venue itself (spectacularly beautiful), the staff (amazingly friendly and helpful) and the quality and quantity of food (that Cocktail Hour wowed EVERYONE!). Guest were remarking that it had to be a $100,000 event...but look to Lucien's to see how budget-friendly it really is. We came here for a wedding for the first time and it was stunning. I loved how the curtains raised electronically to reveal the main dining room once the cocktail hour was over. They had a stairwell leading to the dance floor where the bride and groom entered after their bridal party entered downstairs. I thought that was a really nice touch. Most wedding food is mediocre at best. I can honestly say this food was delicious. I was even on a break from salmon at the time and I thought my salmon was really good! They have different sized rooms available depending on your needs. The place looked elegant and provided our friends with a beautiful place to celebrate their special day. The one thing I didn't really like was that all of the pictures have this odd purple hue to them because of the lighting. It was definitely noticeable when we were there as well but it bothered me even more looking at the pictures and just seeing everything purple. I came here for a wedding recently and there were things I liked and things I didn't like. I liked the abundance of appetizers that were present at this wedding, and I thought they were all pretty tasty. I liked that we were able to get drinks at the bar very, very quickly, even though there were over 200 guests in attendance. I liked the valet parking, covered lot, coat check, and proximity of the bathrooms to the ballroom. I did not like my entree, the fact that our water glasses were never refilled, and the L logo being projected on the wall. Who needs to see your logo during someone else's wedding? I thought the wait staff were incredibly nice - they updated us about when our entrees would come out so that we had time to dance if we wanted to. They were also very attentive when it came to taking plates away. Overall this was definitely not the worst venue I've ever been to, but it wasn't anything super special either. If you live in deep NJ and want a wedding venue nearby, you should check Lucien's Manor out. read more

The staff at Lucien's really go above and beyond for their customers. I had my wedding here and people are still talking about how it was one of the best weddings they have been to. They really want to make you happy and will try their best to accomodate every request if they can. I really wanted confetti for my wedding so they let me bring the small pop open confetti containers, even though you weren't really supposed to. We also wanted to do a flashmob after our wedding dance so the staff made sure there were no tables in the way on the dance floor. The owner Chris even let us practice the day before our wedding on the dance floor, as staff were setting up for a wedding that day. I booked the Venetian room because I loved the uplighting in the room in the ceiling and in the walls. A couple of weeks before our wedding we were in the room going over the final details and I asked a question about the ceiling uplighting again, and the one manager Jacob informed me that the lights in the ceiling were going to be taken out that week to be rennovated. I got really upset because that was the whole reason I booked that room. However, Chris kept them in for me until after my wedding which was very nice of him. There was only one little incident with my cake, my purple ribbon that I gave to them was not on it. I told our maitre D and they brought my cake back to the kitchen and put a ribbon on it. I thought it looked really dark, but I figured it was just the lighting in the room. However, after going through my bags of items from our wedding I saw our bright purple ribbon unused in the bag, so it got misplaced I guess. Other than that, the night was perfect. There is no other venue that provides you with such an insane amount of food, hor d' oeurves, alcohol, etc. for a reasonable price like they do. They will also stock the bar with any liquors/beers that you request at no extra charge, within reason. Everyone at our wedding had a great time. One of the worst Bridal Attendants I've seen attend a bride ever, when the bride doesn't even know her bridal attendants name that's a problem. James was wonderful as a matte D but Michelle P: rude and downright disrespectful to guests. I would never recommend this place to another friend. I heard the wedding in the other room received their dinners an hr and a half later than expected (maybe it was an off night) but for a day your paying that much money for, I'd expect better service. read more

He made no reasonable compensation In regards to the eyesore of a construction/ demolition site on the grounds where my daughter is having 180 guests in 11 days. She had planned the majority of photos on the grounds. I was told my money would be refunded and to find another place for reception. Lucien's Manor could also be called "Lucien's Wedding Factory" or "Lucien's Taj Mahal of Weddings," because receptions are pumped out from all angles. Friends and I walked into the lobby and were faced with a woman wearing an earpiece and holding a walkie talkie. We were instructed to use a set of stairs on the left and turn left once we reached the top. When attending a reception at a place like this, there is always a moment of panic before walking into a hall that you might accidentally walk in on some other newly married couple's first dance or something. Luckily, our directions were solid and we saw familiar faces right away. Whew! We made our way to the bar and the 'tenders seemed harried. Despite its availability, I noticed that the Grey Goose was kept hidden from plain view, unless it was specifically requested. Tsk, tsk! The pours were weak and martinis were in no danger of spilling as they only filled about half the glass. I also heard a couple people lamenting over the no shots policy. Regardless, people did not seem to have problems getting socially lubricated enough to bust some moves on the dance floor. I liked the room we were in because it offered some privacy from the other weddings taking place. It was cozy, with a fireplace in the corner behind the newlywed table. There were adjoining bathrooms, which kept us completely secluded from the other partygoers in the building. Dinner was above average as far as wedding fare goes. Italian wedding soup, Caesar salad and a choice of stuffed shrimp or filet made for a filling and flavorful meal. As others have mentioned, servers walk around with trays to offer extras. Later in the evening, a huge dessert table was unveiled, along with a flambé station and gourmet coffee station. The attendant probably thought he was doing me a favor by pouring about three ounces of Jameson into my Irish coffee, but unfortunately I had to abort mission after a sip or two so that I would be sober enough to drive home. All in all, the wedding was lovely and the staff at Lucien's did a nice job keeping the night flowing and guests happy. read more

After hearing wonderful things about other weddings at Lucien's Manor we thought we had made the right decision. While there were some great things about the venue there were a lot of not so great things that happened. Lucien's has wonderful food - the cocktail hour is so extensive that some of your guests will think it's the main meal, they give seconds on main entrees and let you try the other options, and they have almost every dessert you can imagine. Aside from the food, there were a lot of negatives: 1. If you are having a ceremony in the Riviera Room, you better make sure there is NOTHING else going on in the facility. Our 5:30 p.m. ceremony was ruined by music, announcements and cheering from another wedding that was just getting started. If you are going to offer a ceremony location on site, sound proof the walls, or do not offer it. 2. Don't expect the staff to be pleasant just because it's your special day and you have paid big bucks to be there. While taking photos outside during the cocktail hour, a staff member was very rude to our photographer and to myself. I should not have had to deal with his attitude on my wedding day. 3. Have someone double check your room set-up. Lucien's forgot to put a chair out at one of our tables, and our guests had to ask the staff for one. 4. We were told by many different people that the parents get special attention the day of the wedding, and will easily be able to get drinks taken to them. Lucien's seemed to be so short staffed during our wedding, that my parents were barely recognized by the Maitre d and other staff. 5. With about 40 minutes left for the reception, I went into the restroom. My courtesy baskets that I spent time and money on were gone. I had honestly thought someone had stolen them. I found out later, when they were returned to me at the end of the evening, that they were removed by staff members at least 40 minutes early...time that we had paid to be there and guests were still using the restrooms! 6. Don't expect them to follow up with you after the wedding. All of my other vendors have congratulated us and asked us to review them, Lucien's is the only one who has not. One other issue - We booked with Lucien's expecting to work with Dee right up until the wedding but about 5 months prior to our wedding she seemed to never be around. We were always told she was out of the office or on vacation, we actually thought she may have even been let go, but that was not the case because we did see her a few days before the wedding when we dropped off all of our supplies. Melanie became our point of contact, but it was never really told to us that this was happening. Melanie was reliable and followed through with the final planning stages even though I feel she was put in an awkward situation by Lucien's. Switching us from Dee to Melanie with no explanation made us feel like we were not important and it was frustrating. read more

And then they fall a bit flat from there...the entrees were nowhere nearly as good as they were described on the meal choices that came in the mail with the wedding invitations. Bland, mediocre, and fatty all across the board including the starter soup and salad. Otherwise, Lucien's is a wonderful place to have a wedding. I find myself at Lucien's several times a year for weddings and funerals (plus fundraisers and other celebratory events for a local civic organization). The food is prepared well and, for the most part, served properly (hot items hot, cold it's cold, etc). Service is typically friendly though some more smiling wouldn't kill anyone. The interior shouts out formal event whether it's a prom or wedding. Even the exterior shouts out something, but I'm not sure what. I was at Lucien's most recently for a luncheon following a funeral. Lucien's isn't really my kind of place. This is a wedding factory, churning out multiple weddings at a time. I think it is a less personal touch for a wedding, but there are some really nice perks. The staff is on point, often answering questions before they are even asked. They seem prepared for any problem that might arise. The service staff was terrific, the maître d' (or whatever her position was, I think her name was Michelle) was supper helpful throughout the day, a pleasure to be around, and good for a laugh. The bartenders weren't that great. Inconsistent cocktails, and a few of them tasted off. I wasn't thrilled with the dinner, if you are coming here for a wedding I would recommend steering clear of the stuffed salmon. It was over cooked and pretty bland. I did try a bite of the prime rib, and this was better, if still a bit over cooked. However, the food provided at the cocktail hour was very good. I was disappointed that I wasn't able to snag one of the lamb chops, but everything that I did try was very good. I think it would be awesome to go to a wedding where a traditional dinner is forgone in place of the cocktail hour food being available through the entire night. read more

We went to Lucien's for a sangit (sp?). The staff was very accommodating (letting us a room to change our clothes (we'd just gotten off the road). My girlfriend even needed a pair of scissors to cut the tag off of her clothes. They obliged us there as well. Lastly, the staff gave let us put our clothes bag in the bridal suite, so it was away from all the hubbub. The room they gave us was just gorgeous with a large fountain on one wall, and the food was delicious (outside caterer). There was tons of servers around to take away empty plates and glasses. There's ample space on the dance floor as well. It was just an awesome place to celebrate our friends' coming nuptials. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our visit was just perfect. My best friend had her wedding here this past August. I would say it's beautiful and it was well organized. Like another reviewer has mentioned, there was someone in the middle of the entrance inside "directing traffic", so to speak. The cocktail hour was good, great selection of food. Great setting- very pretty with a waterfall in the room which later opened up to a much larger room. The cake was presented in front of this. Nice touch for photos! It's a little crazy to me that Lucien's does not have an overall 5-star rating! Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and we are so happy we chose Lucien's Manor as our wedding venue! From the very early stages of planning, both Jake and Nichole were accessible via email and telephone to answer any questions about the details of our wedding day. They were very accommodating with our requests and worked with us to ensure our wedding day was beautiful and as stress-free as possible. Jake, Nichole, and the maître d's also communicated efficiently with our day-of coordinators to ensure everyone was where they needed to be at the appropriate time. Our wedding day included two ceremonies, one of which was a morning Indian ceremony with an outdoor baraat procession. The Lucien's staff worked with our day-of coordinators to ensure all of our ceremony details were included. The Indian ceremony, which was held in the Versailles ballroom, had enough seating for our guests, bridesmaids, and groomsmen, and had ample space for the DJ, photographer, and videographer to do their jobs. My husband, our parents, the bridesmaids and groomsmen, and myself had to change outfits for the afternoon Church ceremony, so the Lucien's staff setup a small buffet near the bridal suites to eliminate walking to/from the Chantilly-Nouvelle room for food - it was a very thoughtful gesture that everyone appreciated! The reception was held in the La Grande ballroom and was setup flawlessly. The LED lighting was beautiful and complimented our wedding colors.The staircase was a great way to enter into the ballroom after being announced as husband and wife! Every course of our dinner was perfect! We received numerous comments from our guests about how delicious the food was. Many of our guests had not attended an event at Lucien's, while other guests had not been to Lucien's since its renovation. After our wedding, our guests were absolutely blown away by the venue's décor, food and beverage quality, and politeness of the staff. So I was part of a wedding (bridesmaid) that took place at Lucien's last Saturday. I have to admit, my first impression wasn't all that great. When the bride told me about Lucien's, I kind of figured that with the name "Lucien's Manor" it was a historic building that had been artfully upgraded into a reception hall. That is definitely not the case. Lucien's was built for weddings, pure and simple. Now, I have to admit, I'm a little anti-big-white-weddings, so the fact that the building is covered with columns, there is a huge gaudy greek style statue near the parking lot, and the inside room really just screams "WEDDING!" was a little much for me to take. I have to admit, though, that our experience there was really pretty close to excellent. We arrived at 1 to start getting ready for the 330 wedding. If I have any real complaints, it would be that we were basically left to our own devices for the first two hours we were there. I was a little puzzled why Melanie, the woman who had been the bride's contact at Lucien's since the beginning (and who had walked us through the rehearsal) was pretty much MIA and selling the Manor to new customers. However, that really is my only complaint, since at around 3 pm, Ricardo, our head server, introduced himself to us and proceeded to spend the rest of the evening waiting on us hand in foot. The wedding ceremony room was downstairs and a little bit too much like a basement for my taste, but had been decorated really nicely. After the wedding ceremony, we had a million pictures taken of us while all the guests gorged themselves on the ridiculous cocktail our. Imagine our surprise when we got back up to the bridal suite to find that Ricardo had filled the room with food from the cocktail hour, a bottle of champagne, and proceeded to bring us drink after drink until we joined the rest of the wedding in the reception hall. Anyway, back to the reception. Lucien's offers 5 full hours of full open bar with good quality alcohol. The cocktail hour had enough food that no one really needed dinner, and yet a full dinner was served; excellent soup, salad, and the choice of prime rib, chicken something or other, or shrimp stuffed with crab meat. AND they came around with seconds, which most of unfortunately had no room for. Then there was dessert. And seriously, i've never seen so much dessert in one place. An ice cream sundae table, a spiked coffee/shots of alcohol in little chocolate glasses table, the wedding cake table, the table of random other cakes, PLUS a huge display of assorted other pastries like backlava, creme brulee, tarts, etc. It was seriously ridiculous. All in all, I have to say that they do a really nice job with weddings, although keep in mind that it's still a huge business. We were one of 3 weddings in the Manor that night, and while they are spaced such that you don't intermingle, it was a little odd to head out of the reception to the bathroom and find another bride getting her photos taken in the front hall. read more

One of the nicest venues in South Jersey. The inside is fully decked out with beautiful colored glass and beautiful murals. The outside is like walking through a heavenly land with beautiful pathways and archs to take photos in. Lovely river with surrounding pebbles to add to the amazing flavor. Lucien's Manor has been around as long as I have (65 years) and it is better now than when it was first known as the best eating place in South Jersey. My Grandson and his new bride just got married there and the reception was above wonderful. The appetizers they served were so awesome and such a selection kept you busy going from one serving table to another. The liquor was top shelf and when they raised the curtain for the dinner seating ,my oh my, what a beautiful presentation. The food was more than anyone could expect, the service flawless and the desserts and chocolate table were fantastic, If you are considering a venue for a Wedding reception, this is the place. Okay on its own. Fancy looking. Food was good until my beef bled all over my dish and I found a piece of hair in my food that was not mine. Completly different color and texture. I lost my appetite after that. read more

My friend's wedding reception was hosted here. The place is nice, but the wait staff needs customer service training. The food was very bland, and they ran out of one of the main entree fish flounder and had to substitute a mediocre tasting shrimp. I would not recommend this place to friends and family. read more

we had our wedding at Luciens back in june and it was perfect! food, service, venue, everything! I am beyond surprised to see negative reviews about food, and service. we have heard nothing but wonderful things about our wedding and our family is very vocal so if there was something they didn't like we would have heard about it. After our wedding there were people wanting more info because they will be getting married, or because their children are getting married and wanted to put Luciens on thier venue list. there is always going to be that person that didn't like something and makes it over the top dramatic. for every person that has a "bad" experience, there are dozens more that had a great experience. you cant please everyone. Luciens however was defiantly everything we wanted and more! thanks again!!! read more

Ok I really wish I had pictures because this was the best wedding i have ever been to however i was a date and didn't wanna be the weird guy taking pictures of all the beautiful displays. I have driven past this place so many times and used to be a catering chef so I always am curious to see how other places do it and this is seriously an A+. Catering is one of the hardest industries because 1. Customers are pains in the ass 2. Your cooking for ALOT of people and 3.There is a time frame to uphold. I rate this 5 star all-around... from the decor and cleanliness (outside is almost as beautiful as the inside) which is u real. The staff and complimentary valet or self parking under a huge awning. To the press ruin and quality of food. The cocktail hour was gorgeous and I mean that, EVERYTHING you could think of was displayed I was confused and though it was dinner. A awesome 2 hour cocktail "hour" and then a wonderful ceremony and sit down dinner followed by an awesome DJ and HUGE dance floor and open bar. The dessert bar was unbelievable ... I have cooked for a lot of parties and events and been to even more and this one takes the cake (no pun intended.) I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for a 5 star banquet hall. I am so happy and was so souped when my date told me it was at Lucien's (passing it in my way to work forever). Great job! read more

We had our corporate holiday party here. I can't express how wonderful everything was. The staff was polite and courteous and attended to our guests needs. The food was delicious and they accommodated for vegan meals. The room was beautiful. Our employees said it was our best holiday party ever! read more

Due to my food allergy, Wendy was absolutely rude, and sarcastic. She made me feel as though I was a huge inconvenience and made me feel like I shouldn't ever eat the food that was pre paid fShe made a sarcastic remark to our tables server about us. However, steve our tables server was AMAZING and helpful! He was calm, friendly, respectful, and accommodating. He made sure my food was safe! Thanks steve . read more
