We happen to go on a monthly special promo entrees 1/2 off and free parking! (Bring your ticket to validate) we tried the $10 cocktails, typically not a drinker, very tasty ! I was amazed how empty the place was after having our meal, since the food and service was so good. Apps were good, calamari was cooked perfectly, the brus was mediocre. bothw salad and soup was nice. The steaks were cooked perfectly, didn't even need a knife. This place is awesome. My family comes here for Thanksgiving and this year during COVID-19, Luciano's didn't disappoint. We were greeted with a big welcome and Happy Thanksgiving and ushered to our seats. We felt extremely safe with all of the COVID-19 safety precautions in place, even placing tables 8 feet apart. The service and food was spectacular as usual. From the turkey, roast beef, bacon wrapped pork roast, to the superb cranberry stuffing, sweet potato and butternut squash, all cooked to perfection and served hot. We were staying at the hotel across the street and the person from the front desk recommended we eat here. I'm so glad she did, because it was incredible. There was hardly anyone there, and I have no idea why. Maybe it's busier at lunchtime. My daughter and I enjoyed an amazing dinner. I had the chicken piccata and it was delicious. The bread was so good, we ordered more. The first set of bread was free, and we paid a small amount like $1.50 for two more pieces. The salad was very fresh. Sometimes you can infrequent check ins and at times too much which is disruptive. Our experience was just right. The decor was pleasant to look at and tables well spaced. BUYER BEWARE...The miscommunication we endured during a recent buffet luncheon was the reason we are giving a low star rating. We recently had a death in the family and booked this venue a few days in advance. I spoke to the manager on the phone, she emailed a menu with the food choices, pricing per person with a minimum of 30 people and the very bottom showed 18% gratuity and 7% meal tax, which was fine, because I figured there would be between 30-35. I called and ordered the food choices and gave a deposit. I was told we would need to call 20 min before arrival to ensure the food would be ready, which I was trying to figure out how I would do that because I would be at the cemetery. I gave a specific time, why would I need to call, but ok. So I asked the funeral home to call and that was fine. I called two days prior to ask if more people showed, how would that be handled? She said we could only have a max of 45 people because she did not want to stress the chef, but now our minimum changed to 35, which I didn't understand, but I didn't ask her why. We got there and the food was AMAZING! There were some elderly family members that couldn't make it because it was already a long day, so we only had 23 adults, two babies under 2 years old and a 5 month old. As things were wrapping up, we asked for some takeout containers to bring home some food, for our family that couldn't make it, and was told there was a state law stating no food could leave because they didn't want to get sued if someone got sick. I was completely baffled by this remark, as I had never heard of it. After, some bantering back and forth, we ended up getting one container and told that was a "gift", because they never do that. They did say they would reduce the bill to the minimum of 30 and had the audacity to say we saw the kids eat too. I said seriously? Anyway, I was handed the invoice and when I read it, there were additional fees to include a 3% admin fee as well as a $30 charge for validation. Now, I probably would have had the $30 added, IF I WAS ASKED, just to save our guests the parking garage fees, but was never even told about it and I had several guests that had already left. I also questioned the additional 3% admin fee and was told that's added to every bill, but again that was not on the initial menu (only 18% gratuity and 7% meal tax) or discussed. I paid the bill. Our guests left with a full belly and raved about the food. As mentioned previously, the food was great, but I have no intentions on visiting this restaurant ever again, unless the management staff changes their practices and is transparent with their pricing. Went for Thanksgiving meal today. It was excellent food and atmosphere. They were COVID compliant and were gracious hosts. The food was excellent and the dessert was delicious. They never disappoint here. We have been coming here for 5 years and you cannot beat the service or food . My brothers and I always look forward to coming here . My company recently had our employee holiday party at Union Station/Luciano's and it was beautiful! The venue is absolutely breathtaking being in the grand hall of the station. They put up curtains to hide you from anyone who might be using the station for transportation services. They have uplighting already set up, so no need to pay extra with a vendor for it (see photos). We had cocktail hour with stationary & passed hor d'oeuvres in the restaurant area where the bar is. The service was great, however there were only 3 bartenders which seemed like it would be enough but there was often a bit of a wait for a drink. However, we did have 155 guests so it was a big crowd. The bartenders were very courteous though and pleasant to deal with once you had their attention. We chose a buffet service including salmon, roast beef and chicken. All dishes were delicious considering it was buffet. The food was a reasonable temp again for buffet (I personally like my food piping hot but never expect that with buffet). The tortellini salad was my favorite thing there, very light and fresh for a pasta based salad! A couple of things to mention - the sound in the venue has a bit of an echo, because you are in this train station grand hall. There isn't anything you can do about it and it didn't ruin our time, I just figured others planning might want to take this into consideration. Also, the dessert selection with our buffet was very small. We knew it would be assorted desserts but they were tiny little pastry samples that came out on deviled egg dishes. We didn't realize that would be our dessert selection and had we known we would have paid more for a different dessert option. Just an FYI to people. That being said, the small pastries were delicious. The bathrooms are in the public area and only unlocked once your event starts due to outsiders being able to use them. They were however clean and I didn't run into anyone that wasn't a party member while there. Again, just another FYI, there is no private bathroom area. Another FYI - parking. The garage is behind Union Station located on Franklin Street and you can park then enter through the back of the station. If you bring your ticket in, the restaurant will validate it for $1 (our company paid for people to park so covered that charge). Just keep in mind, it is a public garage so use the same caution you would anywhere. Martin is the person I dealt with in organizing this event and he was great at answering questions during the planning process. The only thing I wish is that he had been on site during the whole event (maybe he was but I couldn't find him) so that any questions we had could be addressed to him. I ended up mostly dealing with one of the bartenders who was very pleasant, but it would be helpful to have an event planner there to help. Overall, we loved the venue, food, and atmosphere! This was 5 star right of the bat. We were greeted by the MaitreD who took our temperature and offered hand sanitizer. These crazy times of pandemic. Were seated at a lovely table for 2 right against the bar. Greeted promptly by our waitress and also the bartender. Drinks were spot on. Went here 5/9/21 for Mother's Day brunch. First let me say, with the pandemic, it was easy in, and no contact temp taken at door which was greatly appreciated. The food was delicious but not hot, luke warm at best. Servers were not very attentive, not really friendly (dont think i saw one smile)-and were all over the place. we were 1/2 way through eating before offered a drink/coffee. Ok, understand they were busy. Suggestion- maybe have so many servers and each server take and own specific sections? This cldve been more organized. Also there were different entry points for the foods and u had to enter each one separately w no way out to another section without going to another entry point. muffins/breads, breakfast, fruits, meats/gravy, deserts. Suggestion-allow 2 entry points where u start at muffins/breads and work ur way down to fruits, breakfast. With a different entry point to meats/gravies (non breakfast related foods) and one entry point for deserts. The way it was set up allowed the food to actually end up cold (as opposed to luke warm!) by the time you actually sat down to eat. and made it a little more difficult for parents w children. Would i go again? Definitely, however, i do hope this review is seen by the restaurant and taken in a positive way as its not meant to be negative at all. I had Fruity Di Mare with red sauce and my husband had Filet Ashcroft, perfectly medium rare! We took dessert to go, tiramisu and chocolate lava cake both delicious. Just visited Luciano's for Sunday brunch for the first time. Upon walking in, instead of being greeted warmly, I was told to take off my hat because it is a "house rule". Fair enough, I removed my hat, (begrudgingly). We ordered our brunch and the food was amazing. I can not say enough about it, the food was exceptional! However, the mimosas we got were terrible, they had the color of frozen orange juice concentrate and tasted just as bad. But,(as petty as this may seem), the kicker for me was that there were other patrons sitting in the dining room wearing hats with impunity. Dear God, where to start...friends asked us along when they got some Groupons for lobster dinner. Groupon meal should have been the first red flag; the fact we were one of only two occupied tables on a Friday night was definitely another. We all decided to try the twin lobster special which came with steamers and corn. The steamers were without doubt the worst I have ever had in my life...overcooked to the point of withered nothingness, and not even close to fresh. The corn was visibly reheated...I can't imagine how long before we sat down that it was first cooked. And then there were the lobsters...as soon as I cracked the tail off the first one, the reek of ammonia assaulted my head. My companions were also getting the same horrid smell of lobster that had died long before we had made a (plainly unnecessary) reservation. The waitress was apologetic and brought us all new lobsters, which were certainly fresher, but the damage was long done. I had totally lost my appetite. No chef should have let any of that food leave the kitchen. Positives: the place was clean and our waitress was friendly and attentive. I felt bad for her! Nicole, please get a job at another restaurant where you'll make more in tips than we paid our babysitter. We won't be back. read more

I want to review Luciano's Cotton Club & Banquette and Conference Center as a wedding venue. (Although we did enjoy the dinner we had there.) We were extremely pleased with our recent event at Luciano's! We hosted a semi-formal cocktail style wedding reception for 130 guests here. We rented the entire restaurant and also some additional space that opened up into the Banquette Hall. The hall was partitioned off by a curtain and we had our DJ and some additional tables set up in that space. It was SO beautiful! They lit the space and curtain and really made the space look elegant, eclectic and fun!! It was great! We have many thanks owed to the restaurant manager, Yvonne. She helped us create the event, soup to nuts. She spent a lot of time with us going over food options and it is worthy to note that she was willing to work within our budget. Yvonne helped us envision the event by creating a custom event schedule for the entire reception. (When we enter, when we cut the cake, when we eat, when we start the dancing etc...). The schedule was flawless and we preferred it to the one the DJ has presented so we went with it! Yvonne really went above and beyond to make our night special! She has an amazing understanding of weddings and event production - her skills and our lack of knowledge really paired up!! (What would we have done without her!!!???) On the night of the event, things went really smoothly... and to our eyes... it seemed perfectl! (Yes - we were completely stress free on the night of the wedding while Yvonne took care of all of the details!! AMAZING!!) As for the DJ, the sound was only ok in the beginning (its a big space that lends to echos) but the DJ quickly made adjustments. Soon after the music sounded great and kept people on the dance floor for hours! After the event we leaned about a few very minor things that seemed a bit off. (I only mention them so that no one else has to worry about it.) We hosted a beer & wine bar at our expense and learned after the event that guests were charged for sodas. We had never thought about this (and would have preferred that the sodas were added to our bar tab). It seemed silly to not be included. To be fair, we had said "beer & wine only" so this is a hard one to place blame on the venue. We just wish it had been discussed. Too late, oh well. Also, people had to go to the bar for coffee service - would have been nice to have it out on the table so that people knew it was available. Although there were these small negatives, we felt that there were equally other small details that were unexpected and GREAT! For example, every cake plate had a little heart hand drawn on it with red icing - HOW CUTE!!! Also, they saved our cake top even though we hadn't discussed it. This was very awesome (since we had heard stories of venues throwing it out!) Overall, we think we had a 5 star event and could not have been happier that it went so smoothly. Almost all of our guests' responses were over the moon - and we could not have been happier! We thought the food was great, and want to thank the chef as well!! My wife and I have eaten there twice in the last year or so and were thoroughly impressed each time. Most recently (about two weeks ago) we met there after work and decided to eat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and made very good drinks. She also allowed my wife to sample a few different wines to help her find one she liked. For an appetizer we had the Cherry Duck Wings. They were excellent. The sauce was flavorful, but not overpowering, and the wings themselves were very good sized and the meat was very tender. For dinner I had the Petit Filet, cooked rare, just as I asked for it. My wife had the Sesame Encrusted Tuna, also cooked rare but seared nicely on the outside. I believe both dishes were $15 each, which I think is a terrific bargain. The quality of both the tuna and filet were excellent. We had a Groupon that we bought specifically because we had been there before and were pleased with the food. This visit was at least as good as the first. It would have been a great value even without the Groupon. We will certainly be back. Oh, and you can park for free in the Union Station garage. Just ask to have your parking ticket validated. read more

Came here for Mother's Day brunch last Sunday. We had reservations for 4 people. I had never been here before but always wanted to check it out. I was somewhat disappointed with how things were run here. Even though we had a reservation we still waited in line about 15-20 minutes just to get seated. The function hall was only about half full when we got there so I was confused to why we weren't seated right away. And the fact that a group that came in after us, and were behind us in line got seated before us. What was the point of the reservation at all? Finally we we were seated by the host, he took us in here to the cafe. It was a mobster/gangster theme. It had a old timey feel, sorta like a speakeasy. We used our free mimosa coupons then went up to the buffet. I got a plate of scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles , french toast, croissant, and other pastries, I was very excited. The food though I have to say is pretty average. Nothing special about it, I think the waffles were eggo waffles and the pastries looked like they were from the grocery store not fresh made. Even the french toast was disappointing, not rel taste to it at all. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the cafe area but not entirely sure I'd be jumping to go back here. Maybe I would return for a drink at the bar or something but not itching to return to the average food. read more

we went for mothers day brunch. everyone thought this was one of the better locations we have been to, and the price was very reasonable. they offered a complimentary mimosa to everyone at the table. the subsequent ones were $5. I think they should try a $10.00 unlimited mimosa option like they do here in DC. We also had gone to the bar to order drinks and shots, and the staff there was amazing (taller caucasian man, shorter hispanic lady). The bacon could have been cooked a little more but i do understand people like things different. I didnt like that the omlette lady cooked the omlette on one side then folded it, i like both sides being well done even though i asked for it well done...but it was no biggie. there was so much else to choose from, it wasnt a big hit. the turkey was so juicy. the ham was good. the eggs were not that wet soggy mess you see at typical buffets. I am gluten free and I still had a lot of options. Everyone in my party liked the deserts, the french toast sticks, the pancake crepes, and more. Noone complained about anything but the bacon. From older great grandparents to young kids, including peanut and wheat allergies, everyone had something good to eat. We already decided as long as they do not raise the price, we will be back. They do validate for parking in the garage, but you have to ask as noone knew about this prior to me asking. Came here for Sunday Brunch with a party of four. Upon entering your are immediately greeted into a very cool and warm environment with spectacular decor, plating and seating. There is also warm music playing as a perfect background setting. We immediately received coffe and were asked if we wanted either a mimosa or bloody mary that came with the buffet. As to the buffet, the price of around twenty dollars per person is an amazing deal considering the volume of awesomely cooked and prepared foods...we consider ourselves buffet "junkies" and as such experience them all over the USA. For the price point, this buffet is one of the best. It included an omelete station and meat carving station, various fruits and pastries, multiple salads, all the traditional breakfast items plus eggs benedict cooked to order. Lunch was also covered with dishes ranging from backed cod, chieken, rice and even stuffed cabbages (will try next time as I was too full). There also if ice cream and a dessert section...you must try the plum bread puding it is exceptional. The best part was the Chef, who admitantly been up all night preparing, who was "on the floor" so to speak greeting customers and answering any questions in regards to the food. He obviously takes great pride in his food and his cooking demonstrates that high level of love for great food...I am looking forward to coming again for dinner as I bet his pputs the same amount of love in pride in all he does. Even better is that they validate parking at YUnion Station making this one of the easiest restaurants around to always find safe parking (unlike Shrewsbury St or the Grid). Saturday October 6th, 2012 I exchanged my wedding vows at Union Station followed with an outstanding reception at Luciano's. The food was excellent. We had the buffet style dinner with turkey carving station, salmon (excellent), lasagna (yum), stuffed chicken and 2 different salads. The food was served at the perfect time and the service was outstanding. My guests were very happy with the food & drink service during the whole open bar, Michelle was great!!! Garo, the General Mgr was on top of everything throughout my planning experience and made it so easy for me as the bride to rely on him to meet my requirements. This wedding was a Roaring 20's theme wedding so we had a lot of additional requirements for photographers, antique cars and space but they met & exceeded all my expectations! We will go there for dinners and hope to celebrate many anniversary's here with my friends & family and I am sure it will be as great as our wedding day was! Just went here for a party and thought the decor was really nice and fun. But the service gives a 1 star because I had ordered 3 glasses of wine that night. Each time I paid with my credit card, each time it was $6 dollars. Except the last time, I was charged $8. I asked if the prices had gone up over the night since I was drinking the same type of wine each time I went to the bar. They apologized and gave me a new bill for $6. I just checked my credit card bill online and I was still charged the $8 for that last drink! I didn't sign the slip for $8 either. Shame on You! Also we had a birthday cake they had brought out and cut for everyone, but there was no silverware. We were waiting for the waitstaff for quite a while before we could ask them for forks, but by that time I had already ate my piece of cake with my fingers. read more

My parents had gone before, spent an hour of waiting at the bar, only to have the service person forget they were waiting. Finally got seated (plenty of seating available) and waited another 45 minutes. Needless to say they left and had no review of the food. I recently went with a group of 4. Drink orders were fine after a slight wait. My Dirty Martini came in a plastic martini glass and a lime green sword through my olives. Classy. We ordered the Oyster shooters, which were delicious, and a salad as appetizers. Our friend received her entree as the appetizers came out. She waited as long as she could before her food got cold and finished her meal still with waiting time until the three other entrees came out. My boyfriend got the Shore Dinner. Cold lobster and steamers. Our friend got the steak, in which there were no sides and over cooked. I got the Copper Delight, which was decent, but, the red gravy was not your grandmothers homemade gravy. Cold. Service was slow and the presentation was poor. I do not recommend this resaurant. It would be nice to sit at the bar and enjoy the decor which is beautiful inside. Not for dinner. Also there are no Restrooms in the restaurant. You need to walk out into the hallway of Union Station for a public bathroom. Hmm. read more

Myself and the other 8 people in my party were so looking forward to Mother's Day lunch there on Sunday. Our table was seated at 2:00 and we were clearly considered the "leftovers" - because that's exactly how the food looked and tasted. It was AWFUL. We were not given any attention by the waitstaff until we asked specifically for it. After that, it was ok at best. The food trays were either empty, nearly empty, dry and/or discolored (salmon) and/or curdled (cream on top of the desserts). By 2:45, the staff was emptying, trashing and clearing the service tables. None of us left happy, and none of us intend to ever recommend your restaurant for any service.
