Luciano's has a solid location downtown and their space gives date night vibes. The staff were nice and gave some helpful recommendations of the menu. The burger and truffle fries that I had was well cooked and flavorful. A good selection of drinks was available whether you wanted cocktails, beer, or wine. My wife was disappointed in her halibut and our gloopy melty panna cotta for dessert was not up to par. Nearly $40 for a halibut fillet with no sides on a plate of grilled onions. My wife ordered the couscous as a side since the halibut came with none and it was unfortunately bland although cooked well. Overall I'd say Lucianos was too expensive for the experience we had but I would consider giving them another shot sometime

I ordered the halibut and it was very well cooked but lacked flavor. It only came with onions that weren't too citrusy or flavorful either, and there was way too much in proportion to the fish filet itself. I ordered a side of couscous and it was very well cooked, but flavorless as well. I actually can't even explain what it was supposed to taste like. My husband had their signature burger and enjoyed it. The eggplant burrata was my favorite thing and would get again. We got the pannacotta for dessert and I didn't like it. It was very cottage-cheese and I couldn't understand the choice of plate.. it was looking odd and the plate was sucking the dessert dry and it looked messy Also, I hate their menus! Not even laminated. If you are entering the restaurant business and want to be seen as a "nicer" spot and charge more for the experience, I'd expect the menu to at least be laminated.. or have a separate drinks menu, or something. Just totally didn't fit the ambiance of the place

Top drawer dining. Eight of us walked in. Our option for seating was the patio or first available. The evening was beautiful so we chose the patio. There was a roof cover over the table, which was nice. The best part was our excellent server, Stokes. He came on loud and confident, and we liked that. He knew everything, and he served us promptly. We started with mussels, unbreaded calamari, the way it should be served, and our entrees were delicious. We had haddock with scallops, haddock with shrimp, the crab cake special, spaghetti with a huge meatball, and ziti with shrimp. For dessert we ordered one of each and passed them around. We liked best the GF carrot cake, vanilla panna cotta, and Zeppoli, Italian donuts. All pieces would serve two. We frequent Akron, and this is now a fav spot. Glad we tried Luciano's. Ask for Stokes.

Must try. Wow I had no expectations as I was visiting from out of town and this was close to my hotel. I was very impressed by the service, the ambiance and food. The service level at the bar was spot on. I had Chicken Milanese and it was the perfect level of crispy and moist. The pasta and arugula was a good balance. The prices were surprisingly affordable. When I visit Akron next, I will be back.

I really wanted to love this place. I was so excited to take my 91 yo dad who is from Italy. The parking is tough, but I know the area and am used to it. I had to drop him off and could see no area for handicapped like a ramp or place to sit til I could come back. Our server Stokes was wonderful and attentive. He did a great job of hyping us up on the menu. I ordered the grilled artichokes which was the highlight of my meal. The side salads were very small and had a few interesting items in them, but were not worth $8 imho. The warm salted bread with rosemary butter was great, but never warm. My friend's spaghetti with giant meatball was inedible. All 6 of us agreed. Stokes kindly took it off the bill. My chicken Milanese was enormous. It should have been pounded thinly as the dish implies. The tomatoes were warm, not blistered-no biggie, but I was disappointed. The beurre blanc sauce was great. I subbed truffle fries for pasta and they were tasty. They came with steak sauce which was unusual and didn't fit. I was disappointed bc nothing was fabulous. The atmosphere is lovely. We had a table for 6 in a "private" tiny room section. Based on some other reviews I'd sorta like to try it again, but at $100 with no alcohol or desserts, I'm not sure. They did add the 20% tip themselves bc we had a "large" party which was fine. When I went to pick up my dad, it was even worse as people had blocked the entrance and parked in front of the valet area of which there apparently is none.

    Beef Carpaccio incredible !

Food was amazing finally a new great find in Akron. The meatball to die for with the cheese wheel prepared at your table. Squid was tender the eggplant parm amazing. Pasta is homemade and perfect. Wow what a night. Service is what it should be in a cool atmosphere. Terrific dinner

Absolutely fabulous! We decided to go on a Saturday sort of last minute but were able to get seats at the bar. Michael and Ryan took great care of us! We started with cocktails, the cucumber & fennel martini and the tequila old fashioned. Pretty good! Then we had the calamari appetizer. A little too spicy for me but my husband loved it. The flavors were really good, just a tad too much spice for me. Then I had the Miss Ginger cocktail, and he had the Jaguar. These cocktails were FABULOUS! For our entrees I had the scallops and couscous (which I cannot even tell you how incredible this was!), and he had the halibut, which I was slightly jealous of. Overall everything was very delicious and we will definitely return!

Peach something Bellini maybe - very good

OK, whatever, they were busy. We were overcharged for our wine by a $1, but we let that go. The thing that annoyed me most was that they weren't even serving wine in the right glasses. There are red wine glasses and there are white wine glasses; You're a wine bar - serve it in the proper glass. So maybe it's just that one night when there was a crowd. Sadly, no. Went after work last week and only four other patrons. The three guys hanging out with owner all had red wine in red wine glasses, but the guy next to me got red wine in a white wine glass. So apparently they're just clueless. Or perhaps they were saving all the red wine glasses for friends of the owner. As far as wine selection, thumbs down. Maybe 20 whites, total. There are many, many restaurants with better selections, such as Papa Joe's, the Bistro in Kent, that will even serve your wine in the right wine glass -- imagine that! To be honest, I don't get the sense that they're taking their business seriously, more like, "Hey, let's open a wine bar! We don't know jack about wine or the service industry, but it couldn't possibly be THAT hard, right? We'll print up the wine lists on the home computer and put them in these 3 prong cardboard folders left over from when the kids were in middle school. Piece of cake."

She shiowed us all the attributes to this Akron gem. The Barrell dining room, the Vault, Screen Suites, the Coat Room lounge and adjoining Parlor room.
