By far, my favorite thing in the morning is waking up, washing my face, and putting this avocado citrus serum on my face. The aroma is amazing. It feels so good on my skin. I milked it down to the bottom. It lasted me since my last review. I didn't know they had the body butter and that they were able to make me a perfume with the same scent. I will update my review on that. I also, ordered the toner which I have not tried. When I run out of my current face care products, I am going to order all of them from Lisa, the owner at Lucia. I placed my order with Nicole, and she was wonderful. I highly recommend these products. My last visit there, I spent a fortune buying tons of Christmas gifts here. So upon opening up my Big Sur Man Scrub I was enticed by the sweet notes of sandalwood, sequoia, almond, and something else I couldn't identify. The label called the scent "redwood". Needless to say I'm not going to scrub anything on my body that would make me smell like Geranium. Anyway, I've used it a few times and think it's a good scrubbing product. It also doesn't hurt that I smell nice too. - This is a salt scrub, so it's quite abrasive to the skin. Think twice about rubbing it into sensitive areas! - It's good for cleaning out those nooks and crannies. - The warning on the label about making the shower floor slippery is true. Whoa! Was given a bottle of Big Sur beard oil unique to this store as a gift! Best beard oil I've used so far, hands down! Most beard oils I've used required a large dosage to tame my scraggly miner-49er mange; however, the Big Sur beard oil requires very little applied to cover the entire beard. The bottle is huge, too, so I know it will last a long time. And the scent is quite nice, too; masculine but not overwhelmingly so. Smells so lovely as soon as you walk in the door. What initially drew me in was the products being all natural, sulfate and paraben free. The ingredient labels are exactly what I look for in my products back home. Pricing is so incredibly reasonable & allows you to stock up on what you need. The gal at the store was really helpful, and being dog friendly makes a huge difference to us. It was also great to be able to test the goodies before taking them home. I wandered into Lucia on a Friday afternoon honestly in search of some hand lotion - and I happily found so much more! Shop owner Lisa greeted us warmly and offered both of us a 'free sample' - a hand treatment with a sugar scrub, oils, lotions, the whole nine yards, in the scent of our choice. She even kept my BF happy by offering him the treatment in one of the man-friendly scents. :) I was charmed the Ojai scent, citrusy and flowery without being sweet. Our hands felt absolutely amazing afterwards, incredibly smooth and moisturized. I would have loved to spring for a whole arsenal of supplies to continue these heavenly treatments at home but since I was shopping on a budget I went with the Ojai body wash, and the Mendocino lotion. The label on the Mendocino says 'sangiovese and biscotti', Lisa told me it was a fancy way of saying vanilla. :) Trust me, this is an absolutely heavenly vanilla. Both the body wash and lotion come in very generous containers and the quality and refinement of the products is very evident with each use. This place is like the teeny little super guy of bath product stores. They have a great selection, but it isn't overwhelming; though the products are scented they aren't over-scented and you won't get a headache from being in here. The woman behind the counter will let you pick out a scrub and creme and you get to do a free hand treatment before you buy. She also doesn't mind if you smell EVERYTHING first. The products are on the pricey side, but you do get a discount if you buy more than one thing. The products are also handmade, locally made and of very high quality. The jar of sugar scrub is filled to the brim, and the oils are incorporated into the scrub so you don't get separating layers like some other scrubs. Best body scrub ever. Seriously just go in and try it (they have a great little wash basin for you to try it). I wasn't planning on buying anything, because to be honest spending $20+ on bath/ skincare products is a little too steep for me, but after I tried the scrub, I was sold. A wide array of scents, making it hard to decide on just one, but I was taken with the PCH scent, even though it's for men. They have a number of other "homemade" naturally-fragranced soap combinations, but I've been diffusing patchouli and sandalwood together for so long, I thought I'd get it, and I'm thrilled that I did. And while I was there... This shop is inviting for all of the senses, not just fragrance. Their products, which I now know are amazing, are displayed in an inviting "try me" way. There is an old saying "On taste and smell there is no discussion." What I love, someone else may not. But even if you don't love patchouli/sandalwood, or Apricot/Viognier, which comes in creams, oils, scrubs and perfumes, I can't imagine that you won't find a combination that you do love. This place is a must-visit when you're in Cambria. The owner is local, friendly, helpful and makes her own oils and bath/body products with fantastic scents, for both men and women. She has body oils, sugar scrubs, lotions, body washes, soaps, reed diffusers, etc. I went into the store because I was looking for a reed diffuser for my house, one with a nice essential oil and found some really great scents. I had been to a Pier 1 the week before looking for a reed diffuser, but all their "oils" looked more like lighter fluid, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that this shop sold reed diffusers with wonderfully scented, homemade oils. I will definitely be back during the holidays to shop for family and friends. read more
