The shop is stocked with goods made locally in SLO County. You can tell the store is thoughtfully thought out- from the display of the goods to the available items. There's things for everyone- the foodie, the plant lovers, the souvenir searchers, the four legged (doggy & kitty) lovers, the home and yard decorators, the clothes lovers, etc. The store isn't always open, but go into the pizza restaurant next door and ask when it'll be open. It's totally worth making that effort. The owner is super sweet and so nice too! I purchased a metal Cambria sign and we just mounted it on driftwood from Moonstone Beach. We absolutely love it !!!

Walked in to the bright and airy shop and was immediately greeted with a big smile. The shop is small, but thoughtfully laid out. Not only are there different foods to try from local shops around the Central Coast, there are crafts and gift items as well. I picked up a block of local Garlic Jack cheese to add to a charcuterie board I'm making for a Christmas party. I've been wanting a sweatshirt that says Cambria on it. I found one that I liked but wasn't the right size. The gentleman at the front greeted me and told me if I needed anything to let him know and that he can also customize things. I asked him how long it took. He said right away. But then of course the size I wanted wasn't in stock. Go figure. He offered to order it and make it and then ship it to me. I asked what the turn around time was. He said he would have it out by Monday. It literally took him 3 or 4 days and he shipped it out Monday. It was so fast! I literally got it two days after that. I loved the way it came out. I also did ask for something and he said he can do it but it won't turn out the best. I was grateful for his honesty. Their customer service was top notch! I will definitely be back to visit next year and see what else I might find.

Our tour guide was an engaging storyteller and helped us imagine what life might have been like during the castle's heydey. The views are exquisite and that includes the architecture and artwork indoors. As documented in previous posts, the bathrooms are under renovation so you have to use porta potties outside the center. You cannot bring any food or drink on the bus or walking tour other than bottled water so be prepared to eat before or after your visit. This shop has plenty of beach necessities such as beach towels, bathing suits, logo t-shirts, flips, flops, and sunglasses. Their interior setup makes it really easy to find specific items in the store. The lady at the register was really sweet and helpful. With the limited amount of gift shops in the area, it's nice know that there's a great little shop with a variety of decently priced souvenirs around.

These items tend to be similarly ocean-themed, generally being of a nature that includes mermaids, sea shells, ocean sunsets, or stuffed marine mammals.... If you're one of these folks, then visiting this small store will cause you to break out into your happy dance. Lots of beach stuff here, with about an even mix of gifts to take home to others, and "stuff you forgot" to bring to the beach (towels, those long t shirts when you don't want to wear your bikini to walk around, etc.) Sure, this is touristy. But do you live here? Then, Mildred, you're a tourist! Store staff was nice. Most items are on the north side of inexpensive, but Cayucos rents can't be cheap. So c'mon... just buy that little figurine made out of periwinkle shells and glued-on googly eyes... your grandma will just LOVE it.
