So excited about Luce Salon. The new owners (2023) are fantastic and I absolutely love how I looked and felt after my color. The salon is very welcoming, and friendly. Turns out a lot of my friends also go there so I know I am in great hands. Thank you! read more

Not only did Mimi do an amazing job on my hair, she showed me how to style it without creating damage in a way that worked best for my hair type. She did such a great job, I presented her with dead, brittle, box dyed hair cut with dull scissors.(don't judge me it was the COVID thairpy I needed). She cut the perfect amount off and left me with a full healthy head of hair. This salon greets you with such friendliness, I enjoyed great conversation and some green tea and a lot more knowledge about the do's and dont's if I want to grow out my hair and keep it healthy. read more

I had a great experience with Laurie, I came wanting to fix my DIY lightened hair and grow out my natural color. She added lowlights, a few highlights and toned my hair. What was a monotone mess looks like my natural color again, thank you! read more

Luce Salon - Hair Salons Near Me - Santa Barbara, California

I love Luce Salon and Elyse Blevins! I have been going to Elyse for about 4 years and she's always done me right. When I first came to her, my hair was over processed, haggard and just plain giving up. It was hard to manage and the split ends were off the hook. My hair is curly and some gray is starting to show so I really needed her help to get it back in shape and to find a style that was manageable for me. Elyse listened to me and suggested a style and highlights that compliment my hair and now I am so happy (and so is my hair!) It's healthier and prettier than i ever thought it could be. Elyse is a true stylist and she knows her craft very well. She takes her time and does it right. So excited that she has her own salon now. I highly recommend Elyse and the whole gang at Luce Salon! read more

I have been going to Elyse for years. She's the best in town for blondes. I gladly make the drive from Ventura to see her. My hair looks amazing every time. I cannot say enough positive things about her craft. Plus she is the kindest human being. My hair appointments are my "me time" in my busy schedule. And visiting her is always relaxing and I feel rejuvenated afterwards. She recently became the new owner of Luce salon. This salon is so cute and inviting. All the stylists are so friendly and welcoming. read more

Mimi has brought light into my life via Luce Salon! I just moved back to Santa Barbara and I needed my hair colored and highlighted. Mimi took the time to stay open late just for me. She also took the time to consult with me about my hair and what I liked or didn't like about it and what I needed done. She listened to every word I shared with her and my hair came out phenomenal! She uses organic and natural products so her salon and your hair does not smell of harsh chemicals. The environment is relaxing and soothing and Mimi immediately puts you at ease with her friendly, laid back and calm domineer. Needless to say I set up a follow up appointment on the spot. I will from now on be a loyal customer of Luce Salon. read more

Luce Salon - Front desk with wonderful Kevin Murphy products! - Hair Salons Near Me - Santa Barbara, California

Mimi is kind, prompt, caring and truly a gifted stylist. Luce Salon is a welcoming salon with a beautiful quaint patio located on the Mesa. You will leave with beautiful results and a lifted spirit after an appointment with Mimi. Ive worked with her at a salon in the past and she has done my hair many many times and in my humble opinion I think she is one of the best hair stylists in SB. She is such a gem. I love her, and you will too! read more

Mimi, the owner, has an incredibly welcoming and charming salon (I love the cruelty free products!) and I enjoyed my experience there, until my hair was done. I asked Mimi for a few highlights (to get a natural sunkissed look), since I am growing my natural out (a dark blonde/brown color) and I even showed her 3 pictures of what I wanted. She instead highlighted the entire top of my head to the point where it was all platinum, with no appearance of blended highlights. She then proceeded to tell me it was an appointment for a partial highlight and she "assumed I knew what a partial highlight was since I have gotten highlights before." She did not handle the situation graciously. Mimi then told me toning would fix the problem, which instead gave me silver/gray hair. I asked her to please add brown/lowlights on the hair colored silver, to get it closer to how it was before she did anything to it. She did not charge me, but I walked away with my hair a completely different color than not only what I asked for but also different than my natural, which I had grown out for 10 months prior. As I left, I thanked her and gave her a hug. I have since found a different place to get my hair done, as this was a few months ago. I've decided I want to share my experience even if it happened a while ago. read more

I had the best experience with Mimi coloring and styling my hair! The overall atmosphere of the salon was very comfortable. My hair turned out better than I could of imagined! She did exactly what I suggest and also added her own recommendations as well, which I really love in a stylist. She also took the time to blow dry and style my hair after. My haircut added great volume to my wavy/curly hair, and added really nice highlights that added a lot of blonde to my hair while still looking very natural. She does a great job of reading what the clients are wanting, and still adding her own expertise. Will definitely be returning!! read more

Bettina was amazing. She looked at my hair, the color and cut, and suggested something perfect for my face. She did an amazing new cut and color. So incredibly happy with both. It was also a reasonable price, so that makes it so much better. read more

You know that feeling when you find the people who can perform the PERFECT cut and color on your hair, and you leave feeling amazing? That is exactly what happened to me at Luce...did I mention how yummy the products made my hair look and smell? I'm at a 10 in gratitude at this point....first time my hair has looked this good since I moved to SB 6 years ago. read more

I am a fan of Mimi's, too! I love her haircuts and color, and I even send my husband to her. He does not like to go get haircuts, but when Mimi cuts his hair, it lasts for 4 months, until he needs another one, and he really likes that. I love the new salon and there is plenty of parking in the back. read more

I had a great experience at the Luce Salon! I have naturally long, fine, curly hair and have never been happy any of the times I got my hair cut. No one ever seemed to know how to cut my curly hair in a flattering way. Mimi was fantastic! I have never had someone really take the time to understand my hair. She asked lots of questions about the nature of my hair, what I normally do to it, what I want it to look like, etc, before she even picked up her scissors. She really listened to me while also explaining what she thinks would be best for my hair. I initially thought I wanted more layers, but she convinced my to keep them subtle and that that would look better for my hair type. I was a little skeptical but am so glad I trusted her expert opinion. She gave me the best hair cut I've ever gotten! Also before she cut, she gave me a great conditioning/cleansing treatment and what seemed like a scalp massage. My hair felt healthier and more full of life by the time it was dry. I absolutely love the shape of it, which is something I've never felt after a cut, before. I will definitely go to Mimi for my next hair cut. Highly recommend! read more

Alicia Cortez gave me one of the best haircuts I've ever had last month. I came into the salon with long, heavy, flat hair and left with playful, shoulder-length, moderately-layered hair. She did exactly what I requested and she didn't rush (even though it took awhile). She provided great suggestions and feedback when asked, and she never tried to push her own ideas on me if I was hesitant. I usually don't schedule haircuts more than a few days in advance, but I just scheduled another haircut with her for next month! read more

What a waste of money. First, I go in and have to wait half an hour to be seen by anyone, despite having an appointment, because "there was an error on the books". Most of them, except one sweet woman with short hair who actually talked to me with a smile, were dismissive and unpleasant, as if it was a huge inconvenience for them to have to fix the mistake they made. When they called the woman I was booked with (she'd gone home), I was told by her "Well, I'll come back, but I don't even get paid for the Groupon." Like that's my problem? Please. Afterwards, I let the woman with short hair know I was confused and felt bad she wouldn't get paid, but she assured me that she does certainly get covered for that service. Lol. Ooookay. Anyway. Excited for my first salon-hair experience, I got the blowout with conditioning treatment. Shockingly, my hair looked way better before - it's usually bouncy, curly, and almost animated, and after my blowout, it was flat, straight, and hung on my face with no life or shine. If I wanted to pay someone twenty bucks just to straighten my hair and put some conditioner in it, I'd let a friend do it, instead of the stuck up and unorganized women at Luce. Minus a star for the unprofessional scheduling mistake, minus a star for being unfriendly, minus a star for their hair washing basins smelling like mildew (Ew!), minus a star for my ugly straight hair. One star back up tho for nice lady. read more

Just went there for the first time, Victoria was amazing. She was very detailed oriented and did a great job with my super short modified bob cut. I moved from Chicago 2.5 years ago and just now found the perfect combo of Personality and amazing skills!! I also love that I can booked online. In addition, they carry Kevin Murphy products. read more

Tobey Terry is a life saver!! She fit me in despite a scheduling error and literally transformed my bad haircut I had received from a stylist in Beverly Hills into the best cut I've had in my entire life... in 35 minutes!! Literally!! I have curly unruly hair and she knew exactly how to cut layers in to make my frizz turn into ringlets. Anyone with curly hair knows what a struggle it is to find a stylist who know how to cut curls right without chopping! She's the best and I 100 percent recommend her! Thank you!!!! read more

I have been going to Luce Salon for almost 6 months now. I have long, thick hair. Toby Terry has done partial highlights, cut and blow dry for me. She is very attentive and professional. She always takes me on time and is efficient. My hair is looking great. I like the salon and there is plenty of parking in the rear parking lot. read more

My hair was super long, one length, and boring. Mimi listened to my concerns that I wanted to keep length but bring life to my hair. She cut long layers without taking much length off at all. I LOVE my haircut! It's perfect. read more

Wow, love this Salon. Talk about full service! I was greeted at the door and was offered and actually prepared a fabulous tea for me ( RARE). Bettina my stylist, is a hair goddess. I recently had a hair disaster with my regular salon and my hair was a highlight disaster. She added amazing highlights, jazzed up my cut and I left feeling great! Also, she gave my daughter her first highlight and real salon experience. She had two very happy customers walk out at the same time. I have found my forever hairdresser, thank you Bettina!!!!! read more

Beautiful atmosphere and genuinely gifted stylists! The best salon in Santa Barbara! Great energy, sunshine and so much kindness! You'll leave with gorgeous hair and good vibes! Mimi, you have literally transformed my hair collar! I've tried 6 other stylists and you're the only one that could give me the blond that I dreamed of! You're THE BEST! I love that you're so passionate about your work! It really shows! Thank you! Patty read more

Walked in feeling hot and weighed down by my thick hair. Walked out feeling understood, lighter, and pretty. Loved my first time at Luce Salon with Alicia, who understood my thick hair and the need for lots of thinning. She was patient with me and my indecisiveness, and I ended leaving with the haircut I didn't even know I wanted. Will definitely be going back again! read more

Great service! The hair rinse came with a head massage! Very nice ladies the place was very clean!

Thank goodness I found Toby Terry! My hair has always been my "thing". I have been going to the same stylist since I was 21 (and I'm 39 now) and she happened to be in Newport Beach. I have lived in San Diego, Long Beach, Santa Barbara and have now been living in Buellton for 8 years and have always driven down to Newport. It was an all day affair and I just couldn't do it anymore. I have gone to my share of people in SB and just never found the one person that could make me feel amazing until I found Toby. I have wavy/curly hair and although I try to wear it like that, I really like my hair straight. She gave me a great cut for my schizophrenic hair and introduced a product that keeps my hair straight even in high humidity. She also began highlighting my hair, which I never did before because I didn't think my dry hair could handle it and my hair not only looks healthier but is healthier. Toby has a great personality and really knows what she's doing. I love going to see her! read more

I am new to the area and when I called for an appointment Mimi answered. She was super friendly and got me in that day. When I arrived I received a warm welcome and she listened to what I wanted. She did a fantastic job with my hair cut; giving me tips as she did it. I have now found my go to hair salon in Santa Barbara. read more

Mimi was great. I wasn't sure what I wanted except that I was cutting off enough length to donate. She helped me find a fun hairstyle that wasn't too short but still took almost a foot of hair off. read more

Mimi and her team are *amazing.* Best experience I have had in a salon...probably in my whole life (of a few decades). I have curly hair, and needed a style change and needed to go to a salon with organic products as I am getting more sensitive to chemicals in traditional hair color. Mimi gave me a great new style! And...I love the natural products. Also, Mimi and her team are so friendly, not at all pretentious and very customer-oriented! read more
