I went to see David and he is so thoughtful! He always make sure to apply the color very thoroughly. In the past other hair dressers often miss spots that I end up finding later on... I often get an itchy scalp w/ hair die and David worked with me by adding sweet and low to the dye and spraying my scalp w/ lavender (that I brought from home) to help ease any itching. I called same day (on a Saturday no less) to try to get a very late minute updo for a wedding I am attending. I knew it was a long shot, but was so pleasantly surprised when the owner said she could squeeze me in for 30 minutes in between a color appointment. The salon is clean and comfortable and Susie and her staff were great. I LOVE the updo I got - simple low "messy" bun. It's amazing what Susie was able to accomplish in 30 minutes time - a true creative pro (and great conversation too!). Haircut I am from out of town. I was feeling frumpy and needed a haircut before my daughters wedding. I stopped in the salon on a busy Saturday hoping on the off chance someone could fit me in. I told my story to the woman at the counter, turns out it was Susie the owner. She said it was her day off but would do my hair. I had one of the best hair cuts I have ever had. I haven't been to a salon in 3 years after a really bad haircut. After a failed attempt at a diy layered cut I decided to finally let a professional cut it. I got my hair cut by David P. a week ago and I absolutely loved it. He was so kind and listened to everything I wanted (I'm super picky) and did exactly what I asked. The location may have changed, but the quality and service are as solid as ever. The salon is somewhat hard to find, tucked into a rear portion of a large shopping center. Once you find it, though, you certainly won't be disappointed. The interior is simply beautiful with a modern, urban vibe. It's bright, open, and very clean. The same can't be said about some of the other local salons. I believe that walk-ins are accepted, but it's recommended to make an appointment beforehand. My mom goes to Susie and always walks out with the most gorgeous cuts. It is evident that Susie is a true professional, keeping up with the latest trends and delivering flawless results. quite possibly one of the worst experiences i've had at a salon i went ahead and trusted this place based on the yelp reviews and rating i also wanted the simplest thing done- a blowout with a light style. the lady that did my hair said she'd been working for 34 years so i assume she must know how to handle my long hair. from the beginning, she looked confused and frustrated with my hair, didn't have any recommendations as to what what look best even thought i showed her what i was looking for, and couldn't ask for help till the very end. i was really really displeased with my hair and on top of that, it cost me $60!! biggest regret because i wanted my hair to look good for a photoshoot AND everything lasted me barely a few hours. my hair now looks like absolutely nothing was done to it!! save yourself the time and money and pick another salon read more

There are several people who can cut your hair, but it's based on availability or you can make an appointment. I got my hair done my Tracy and she was very easy going. She asked me exactly what length I wanted and earned my trust with the fantastic job she did. She gave me beautiful layers and cut off only what I was comfortable with. This review isn't for the salon, it's for the spa. Clara DePaola gives the best spray tans for the best price. I am a spray tanning veteran... I have tried almost every at home formula, gone into mystic booths and stripped naked to get sprayed by a complete stranger. I love being tan. I feel more confident in my own skin and I feel like a bronzed goddess, the only thing is that getting spray tanned can get expensive... Other places charge upwards of $60 and the places that do it for cheap just suck and give you horrible advice on taking care of your tan so then the next day it's ruined. Clara's formula got me DARK, but not uncomfortably dark where I couldn't recognize myself and the formula lasted longer than I expected. I don't know what it is about my skin, but tans don't last very long on me. So many places have claimed that it'll last a week, but it's a lie. Tans last at most 4 days on me. Clara's formula lasted about a whole week, which was such a surprise. Clara had a spray tan special for Valentines Day so I only had to pay $23, which was such a steal... but now I will be going to her because now I can get a spray tan anytime I want to without breaking the bank, even if it isn't $23. After moving here from Los Angeles 2 years ago and trying many different waxing professionals, I have finally found an amazing one! Clara is the best in town. Not only does she do a better job than if you went to Beverly Hills, but her prices are more than reasonable. The wax she uses is top of the line and does not cause breakouts and doesn't hurt when she ripped it off. In fact, she doesn't use that paper cloth and instead the wax rips off by itself. She is extremely knowledgeable about the shaping of the brows and even provided me with information on how to keep them up myself. My eyebrows look better than they ever have! I also had the 30 minute Sea of Life Facial and the next day my skin looked soft and radiant, and I felt amazing for the rest of the week. The price was about 1/2 of what you would expect to pay. I highly recommend Clara for her spa services for waxing and facials. I am so glad I finally found my Beverly Hills spa services at an amazing price in Goleta! read more

I called in the morning and was able to book a same day appointment. My new hairdresser was a young lady named Kendra Gomez. She is amazing, love her. She knew exactly what I wanted, was super chatty, friendly and enjoyed. She is very knowledgeable in the hair industry, especially for being so young. The interior was extremely clean and chic. Took my daughter for a cut with Kara. She was amazing! She was sweet with my daughter, who is 13, and did an amazing job with her cut. She took her time and made my daughter feel like a princess. I will NEVER come back to this salon. I would recommend you not waste your time and money. I made the mistake of scheduling an appointment with Billie ahead of time and the receptionist DOUBLE CHECKED with her to make sure my time was ok and she would be there. 2 days before my appointment Billie called me stating that getting out of work was more important than me as a customer. This is not the first time they have done this. They're just not worth the 75 dollars for a hair cut if they can't be bothered to be there for clients. First of all, I don't normally write reviews for anything. Second of all, I would like to say that Shear Artistry does do good work. The quality isn't in question at all. I have gotten my hair done a few times here and they've always done a great job, but the professionalism and disorganization is certainly in question. I had an appointment scheduled for Friday morning. I was looking forward to it and had rearranged my busy schedule to get my hair cut and colored. When I showed up for the appointment (right on time) and I told her my name, she told me my appointment had been cancelled. The stylist had a doctor's appointment and had tried to call me but my phone number had been written down incorrectly. (This was curious because I had someone contact me a couple of times to schedule, so it was clear that they had my phone number correct at some point.) I'm not irritated because the stylist had an appointment--that's just life and a hair appointment shouldn't get in the way of that--but I am irritated that the salon knew that the stylist was having trouble getting hold of me and instead of arranging for another stylist to be there when I arrived, they just decided to cancel my appointment without telling me. I suppose they were hoping I just wouldn't show up. They asked me if I could just come back the next day and at that moment I just decided I wouldn't come back. I'm also a business owner, and this is completely unacceptable to just ask your customer to just rearrange a schedule simply because you couldn't get it together. To her credit, the stylist called me and personally apologized and offered a discount, but I have no interest in taking that offer. I think a little bit of detective work in finding out my phone number or arranging for another stylist to come in to cover would have gone a long way. I'm a pretty reasonable person and understand that life happens and mistakes happen, but this was just carelessness and disregard for other people's schedules. read more
