I wanted to get my hair darkened with some face framing highlights, and cut, and because of the good experience last time I wanted to try this place again. I've had bad experiences getting my hair dyed at other salons in SB so I was definitely nervous. In this appointment I got Vera, who was very kind. I showed her some pictures of what I wanted and I like how she showed me color swatches of hair so that I could see what I was working with. Vera did exactly what I asked for, my hair was blonder than I had expected and she was really sweet and could tell that I was a little uncomfortable with it, so she reminded me that if I wanted to fix something that it was okay. I really appreciated how she just made me feel okay with wanting to fix something and in power of my own hair, so we toned it once more. She even offered letting me come in another time to tone it again if it was still too bright for me, which I did end up doing. So a couple days after I called the day of and they were able to squeeze me in to darkened the highlights. Now I love my hair! Came for a hair cut since I haven't had a proper one for 2 years since the pandemic. I made different attempts to spruce up my haircut such as trying the viral wolf cut, but nothing was enough to stop my hair from tangling on occasion (even with plenty of hair oil and hair masking) as it's been fairly damaged from bleaching at home. I was already so worried of someone cutting my hair after so long but I really needed to revive my hair and get rid of the split ends. I called on Thursday and Daphne answered the phone and was able to schedule me the next day. She shampooed my hair and cut it while it was damp. She used Olaplex 6 and some Redken hair oil that made my hair soft and rebuild some of the bonds in my hair. I gave her a reference pic on the length I wanted. She complimented my at home hair dye job (kudos to my bf!) and then blew dry it. My hair felt really healthy after. It was also very reasonably priced at $45 before tips. I'd come back! read more

I went in here about 2 months ago because someone I know goes here. The experience was really bad with the rude attitude of both the owner Vera and her co-worker, I think named Daphne. They seem insincere and rather racist. If you're not Hispanic, probably don't go here. Vera was really rough with the comb, basically hitting the side of my head with it, and later that night the outside of my ear was REALLY hurting. I finally realized it was because of what she was doing. I would never go here again and I do not recommend it. Unprofessional and sort of nasty. I have never colored my hair before so I was very nervous to do it especially since I had just moved to the area and wasn't familiar with any salons. But i got my hair done with Vera and it was an awesome experience! I had dark brown hair and I wanted a balayage/highlights and Vera did an amazing job! I got so many compliments and actually referred a few of my coworkers to her too since they liked my hair so much. It also was very affordable I thought I would be paying $150-200+ but I think it came out to around $80. I moved recently but I'm thinking of making the trek back to come get my hair done again with her. I would highly recommend! Good haircut, great price, convenient location! They have an Axxess deal for a $35 haircut (for women) every time. Beauty Salon V is a quaint, no-excess salon in Goleta with really kind stylists. After looking in the area and spending $60+ on other haircuts, I was wanting to find a more affordable rate with the ideal long-term stylist. The set-up is efficient and suited for their stylists, but don't expect fancy finishes and a massive display of designer products like you might find elsewhere. I called to make an appointment, and I got my selected time. When I arrived and the stylist talked with me about my haircut, it was a super short-and-sweet convo. She nodded as I showed her a few pictures, then she got to work. She didn't ask many questions during this process. Personal pet peeve: uncomfortable hair washing stations. Most chairs seem like they're designed 1-2in too short for the sink, putting a lot of strain on your neck. This wasn't the worst hair washing station, but it wasn't comfortable either. During the whole haircut, there was only a bit of small talk - that could be a dream for some, but I was somewhat hoping for questions about how I preferred to wear my hair so she could do the best cut possible for me. She cut my hair pretty efficiently, appearing to go off the photos I'd already shown her but without much added personalization. When she blow dried it, she asked if I'd like it styled straight or curly, and I said wavy/curly. She styled it with a curling iron, giving it a bit more of a little girl curl finish than my normal wavy with straight ends vibe. I think Beauty Salon V gives good, consistent haircuts and I definitely appreciate the price, but in the end, I don't think it's the long-term, modern hair salon I'm looking for! read more

Okay! Its taken me 4 years to find my stylist and I've been with her for 2 years and adore her! I see Anna at Beauty Salon V and am so thankful for her expertise. She really listens to her clients and explains clearly and effectively what will and won't work on their hair to give them their actual dream hair. Many times we think we know what we want, but she will let you know what works with your skin tone, the shape, and healthiness of your hair, and what is realistic with your time and budget. Every time I step out of the salon she has transformed my hair into a better image than the picture I've shown her. She makes my styles personalized to fit me, but also listens to what I'm looking for from what I've seen. Vera is a genuinely sweet person, and she does a proficient haircut. Her rates are low relative to the rest of Santa Barbara. I am on the same page with reviewer Molly F - it's not so modern (expensive) of a salon setup and she doesn't do the beachy wave styling, but at least you know you're going to get a good cut and she's going to listen to you. She's not chatty, but it makes me uncomfortable when a stylist asks questions just because they think they're supposed to chat when they don't really want to. I'm always afraid it will distract them from the more important task of cutting my slow-growing hair. Not only did she give me an amazing haircut, going above and beyond my recent Super Cuts haircut (7060 Hollister Ave #104, Goleta, CA), but she coordinated her schedule on New Year's Eve to fix an appointment mistake. I had made an appointment for the Monday, Dec 30 and then immediately called back to reschedule it for Dec 31st. It's located in the Zodo's Bowling Alley parking lot next door to the cobbler shop It's a quiet little salon, but it's kept immaculate, has nice music, the receptionist and the beauticians are very friendly. I was served by Vera, who I believe is the owner of the shop, who offered a polite greeting the moment I walked in the front door. She does both women's and men's hair styling and the price is very reasonable. She will cut/style your hair according to your specifications and the price includes a shampoo and blow dry. She's very attentive and quick but takes the time to make you look good. The price for my styling was $17. read more

Vera and her staff are amazing!! I have very thin, fine hair and have never been able to achieve a hair style before meeting Vera. I recently took my 2 year old for his first haircut there too. Vera was really engaging and interactive with him. He was able to sit on my lap and he played around with her spray bottle the whole time. She even managed to give him a phenomenal hair cut.
