I came to Brianna with short bob length hair that I had hacked into myself, leaving everything uneven and looking so bad, that all I felt comfortable doing, was wearing it in a short ponytail to hide what I had done to it. I didn't want to go any shorter but was really wanting to add some length to my hair to make me feel more comforable in the growing out process, which I knew would be a good 6-12 months. So I was on the hunt for someone who was really good at putting in hair extentions, and who could create a longer hairstyle that looked super natural. Not only did the extentions need to be installed well, but then the color and cut had to be done to make it all cohesive and natural. Well...Brianna friggin Nailed it! I was doubtful that I would walk out liking it, but I was feeling so hopeless about my hair situration, that I figured I'd at least try this option and if I hated it, then I could always take it out and put it back in the ponytail. All I can say is I'm so glad I found Brianna and decided to trust her. She has helped me feel more like myself again and get my confidence back. I called to make an appointment and the receptionist was very friendly and accommodating. She was able to get me in at a time that did not conflict with my work schedule. That's one of the things I love about Kalib and the salons he works with, Kalib is so accommodating and his main priority is always to put his clients first. I have not met a hairstylist that is as talented and humble as Kalib. My experience was fun and I walked out feeling fabulous! I got balayage done, my expectations were exceeded. I have a lot of hair which can be stressful sometimes when stylists complain about how much hair I have and how long it is taking. Fortunately Kalib never makes me feel like my abundance of hair is a pain and we use the time to catch up. I am always in awe with all of his traveling stories. He is a Davines color educator so he gets to travel to give courses and take them as well. I have never met anyone as knowledgeable and committed as Kalib. He cherishes his work and clients. In addition to fun catching up stories, Kalib asked if I'd like a beer while we waited for the color to lift so I obliged. This is not the first time he's gone above and beyond. In the past when I go in early in the morning he'll be waiting for me with coffee and/or breakfast. I never expect these kind gestures but it is in his nature! Now, that is definitely not the reason I keep going back to him. I keep going back because my hair always looks fabulous and boosts my self-confidence by several points! About the salon: it is located in a prime downtown Santa Barbara location with plenty of public parking around. It is a small to medium size with a cozy feel. The decor has a very Santa Barbara feel with boats and ocean inspired objects. They have Caribbean coffee on tap and very friendly staff. I'm excited for future visits with Kalib here. He's always made me feel comfortable, and always over delivers. Every single time I have my hair cut with Ryan, it's an amazing experience, and to add to it, I receive so many compliments on the beautiful cut. This was a very special cut for me...
