My other half and I stayed here for two nights on a packaged deal, which also came with dinner on the first evening.
The room was clean and spacious with very soft, new carpet. It feels like the room has been newly refurbished with a very tidy bathroom. The rest of the hotel was clean but felt a little tired in terms of decor.
The hotel supplies free wi-fi and was accessible from our room as well as the commong areas.
There is a lounge by the dining room where you can have drinks and watch TV. There is also a reading room, an indoor swimming pool, a sauna room, a squash / basketball court, and a games room with a coin-operated pool table that was out of order during our visit.
There is a nicely landscaped outdoors space in the back with a fish pond and a swimming pool.
The restaurant supplies dinner but it's not recommended. The dishes looked much better than they tasted, unfortunately. My risotto was mushy and my other half's black pudding and broad bean spaghetti looked thrown together haphazardly. The veg looked microwaved and tasted very bland.
The restaurant also supplies breakfast which was included in our stay. The breakfast was decent, and offered full English (or vegetarian equivalent), or croissant with cheese and ham. There was also a help-yourself juice and cereal bar.
There are two designated areas for parking which accommodate about a dozen cars, but if you are visiting during a busy period you may find no spaces remaining in the afternoon. There is parking available on the road.
The staff was very friendly during our visit. The receptionist showed us around the establishment when we first arrived to orient ourselves.
Luccombe Hall is a nice place to stay and explore Isle of Wight. It's located near to Shanklin which is a beautiful town, keeping in mind there is a steep climb involved. read more
