Can thoroughly recommend this hotel, which offers 20 rooms, three lounges, a conservatory and a large garden. It is pleasantly decorated and spotlessly clean - and guests are welcome to come and go as they please throughout the duration of their stay.
Our twin room was large and very comfortable, with a lovely view over the garden and out towards the sea. The bathroom was perhaps a little compact, but perfectly adequate, and the beds and furniture were of good quality.
The breakfast was excellent with plenty of fruit, cereals and yoghurt. The cooked breakfast was delicious. Guests make their own toast as and when they want it. This does means you have to leap up and down a bit during breakfast - but also that you never have to ask for more toast!
The hotel isn't five-star, but neither are their prices, which are kept to minimum by cutting down on some (but not all) of the little extras that so many hotels provide in abundance these days. For a three night break, I was offered a rate of £48 per person per night, which included B&B in a spacious, comfortable room AND also the ferry. If you've checked the price of the ferries between the mainland and the IOW, you will appreciate that this is extremely good value.
If I had to pick a negative... the owner does not come across as one of the friendliest or most forthcoming of hosts, however he was helpful and polite when approached!
I wouldn't hesitate to return - and the guest book would indicate that many guests are regulars. read more
