My husband and I stayed at Seacrest Hotel when we visited Portsmouth for a friend's wedding. It's a pretty good place to stay (considering there didn't seem to be anywhere near here that was less than £100 per night... *sigh*)
Eeps:
- The décor was all a bit twee and dated, it sort of reminded us of fawlty towers
- The waffles at breakfast were covered in super-sweet-golden-syrup-esque fake maple syrup. It just wasn't my cup of tea.
Yays:
- It's close to the sea, so nice if you fancy a walk after breakfast
- Although I wasn't keen on the décor in our room, I did quite like the eclectic mix of chairs downstairs in the living room
- The shower worked pretty well
- They include breakfast in the price, with a decent cup of tea (or three)
- The staff were all really, really nice.
All in all, I thought it was a bit overpriced, but not a bad place to stay. read more
