I wanted to hop on Yelp and give a review for the Lucchese store on Gateway. Yesterday I was looking for a pair of boots that apparently are hard to find and may need to be custom ordered. Went to 4 stores here in El Paso and Lucchese was the only store where the employees gave a crap that we were in the store! Starr, Cowtown boots and Cavendars couldn't have cared less. Went today where we took an out of town person to buy a pear of boots. They are from Germany and we're excited to get authentic Texas boots. The staff here was very patient and kind they helped our friend find the perfect pair. I recently ordered two pairs of boots based on my satisfaction with a pair of ropers I bought 15 years ago and still enjoy wearing them. Juan, from the gateway store, had what I wanted. He told me there was no difference in size between a 14D roper and a classic. There is a huge difference. Your website shows a calf of 15 ¼" for Dora size 8; it was exactly 14". That is an entire 1¼" off-spec. My wife's calf is 14¾", so it should have worked with a 1/2" to spare. Mine, I struggled to get the boot on and took several minutes with help to get it off. I paid $109.82 return shipping to find out his and your website info was wrong. Today is Wednesday, mid-day. I texted the manager to find out when my refund was going to happen. He said they would call me for my card info when they received them. I sent him proof of delivery, delivered two days ago in the am. I was recommended a full quill ostrich boot here. I was told it was the most comfortable boot ever. So I swung on by to try some. Yep, they are super comfortable. Place is huge and there are a lot of boots here. You can ask for a beverage to accompany your boot to include beer or even whiskey! The customer service I got was stellar (though I did go in the middle of lunch on Monday so was the only person there). Here's a tip, because each boot is handmade, if you try one type of boot on and it isn't 100% comfortable, ask them for the exact same boot and same size. The other pair may actually be more comfortable even though it's technically the same boot! I did this until I found the most comfortable boot and it cost me $486 after taxes and with my 10% military discount! This same boot costs something like $1500-$1600 at the normal Lucchese retail store! Did I mention they're super comfortable? read more

First off, for those of you who don't buy many cowboys boots, I have to confess, I am the Imelda Marcos of cowboy boots. I own far too many pair. It's one of my vices. But ok, there are worse habits. If you ever want to buy cowboy boots, there is no better off-the-rack brand than Lucchese. I don't know what it is, maybe it is the lasts they use, I don't know, but they require little break in and feel great from the start. They are durable and very well made. Lucchese is the best. Using the word "outlet" for this location might give the impression that this is where factory seconds get sold...there are a lot of those types of places in El Paso. Well, I don't think these are seconds. If they are, you damned sure can't tell. The selection here is awesome...much better than a Cavender's or Sheplers or Boot Town. More importantly, the prices are outstanding. Much lower than the competitors mentioned above. See Tony...he'll do you right. read more

Be Advised. Overall Lucchese makes good to great boots, but if you buy a pair of their boots (and I have several pairs) and you point out in a review on their website that their is a manufacturing flaw which needs to be fixed, e.g. soles coming apart or inaccurate width sizes in their Rusty/Rudy barn boots made in Mexico, as one example, you likely will not see it show up. Especially, if you leave a three star or below rating. They apparently are more interested in getting your money first.. then "maybe" fixing the problem for future buyers. read more
