I used to be an irregular member. My work schedule changed frequently which meant that sometimes…read moremonths would go by without being able to attend. Still, I always felt welcome and received as I popped in and out, especially by the teacher who completely understood my circumstance. Having our own space now allows a more robust schedule, including Thursdays and Sundays, and this means I can train weekly. When I was new, I loved the silent tea service which is offered in the evening on Tuesday. Such a simple ritual, but so full of depth! The free lunch after sitting meditation on Sundays offers a similar opportunity to practice mindfulness while eating and moving. The best part of the practice is the personal guidance that any participant can receive from the teacher. Her words and guidance have allowed me to navigate some terrible storms in my life, and they keep pushing me to open more and more.

I left there each time feeling mentally, spiritually and physically balanced and lit up! I could never quite keep up with the teachers but they never required any level of ability & I just did what I could. They have a very calming & reverent feel to the class, very much inspiring me toward self-improvement in all areas of life. The only reason I didn't give Yoga West 5 stars is that they started getting kinda pushy with me, trying to pressure me into joining their religion. It was actually really surprising to me that such inspiring people would be trying to push a religion. I respect their practice very much, but pressuring people to practice it with them seems so far from their style, I just didn't get it. Welcoming anyone who shows interest in one's religion is beautiful but a pushy and assuming attitude just doesn't seem befitting of one who carries themselves as a teacher of truly self-enriching practices. It started feeling uncomfortable & so I stopped going. Unfortunate, since as I mentioned the actual yoga classes were amazing and I would have loved to continue striving to be able to keep up with these people! But at any rate, I'll always remember these classes and teachers and carry that inspiration with me.

I went to her location on Zeolite, which was a beautiful drive on the outskirts of Corvallis. Andrea was amazing! She took her time getting to know me and explained the types of massage and benefits of each. I decided to try a Shiatsu massage, despite my hesitation to try something different. I'm so glad I did! It by far exceeded my expectations, and honestly was the best treatment I have ever had. Andrea combines aromatherapy, acupressure, energy work and massage all into one. She is so gifted that her treatment flowed intuitively and effortlessly. I will only get the shiatsu massages from now on because I got so much more out of the combined techniques.
