"Going to the cleaners" is not a chore, but a pleasure I look forward to at Lucas Valley Cleaners. This is a family business that treats each garment with skill and care and each customer with warmth and kindness. My pieces are safe with LInda for both cleaning and alteration--whether they are delicate, vintage, stained, or "old favorites" that need gentle handling because of frequent wear. It's a bonus to be greeted on occasion by "Employee of the Month," MoMo, the only fur ball you'll find on the premises. I don't live in the neighborhood, but what are a few extra minutes when you've found the best? read more

Very helpful and great service. Had cleaning and alterations which so far seem great. Happy with the price so I will definitely be back

I went to this place based on the positive Yelp reviews. However, clearly reviews aren't everything and people have not had their attire SHRUNK 1/2 inch and supposedly dry cleaned. 3 items took 7 days for us to get and my wife's jacket is half an inch shorter on the sleeves and cut. It also doesn't smell like it was dry cleaned like the other 2 jackets. My top coat also has dog hair on it, and I don't have a dog. Did they use the spa at Petco for cleaning?! This is the first time and last time I will come here, especially after being told I can pick up on a holiday, when they were closed! What a waste of time and gas. Now I have to pay another $40 for a real [professional] dry cleaner. read more

Lucas Valley Cleaners - Dog hair on a top coat that didn't have hair on it at drop off! How are they cleaning this?! At home?! - Dry Cleaning Near Me - San Rafael, California

I kid you not! I have lived in this area for 40 years and Lucas valley cleaners is absolutely the best i have seen in the bay area and I tell you why. I am 58 years old and i have worked in the financial district all my life always have shirts and pants I dry clean, i was always searching to find a decent dry leaner, my wife actually met Linda the owner, she is amazing too but that takes a whole new review. This is getting too long let me get to the point, Shirts,- no other dry cleaner and i challenge you to check your current cleaner could press the sleeves by your arm pits, these guys press your shirt you cant find a single line, Pants. They do an amazing job i ask for line or no line, on the pants. thats another thing, Linda will never forget what you ask for. And finally, I had 4 white shirts. Very expensive summer shirts I had only used once in a wedding What do you do in a weddings? You dance!. The beautiful white shorts because of too much dancing and sweeting collar. Was yellow, now these are shirts from 5-6 years ago old stain i was about to trash the shirts. I had used other cleaners they returned the shirt pressed with a yellow collar, then showed to some other cleaners they would not take it. I was about to trash the shirts, when my wife stopped me. and i am so happy she did. She asked me to ask linda, and if linda couldn't clean it i would trash them.OMG. Not only she was able to remove the sweet stIns from 6 years ago. The shirt got their original color white back. That hue that old shirt have off white, i have 4 new white short. This was amazing i could not believe Lucas vAlly cleaners Cleaned and removed a stain from 4 shirts None of the big shops could, Max cleaners the large san rafael. Shop, they are a joke, they cant even press right. And they charge an arm and a leg. Anyhow i think i said enough, if you live in this area try these guys chat with linda she is great! And their work is absolutely impeccable. You're in good hands! Thanks, Jayce read more

Great service and quite possibly one of the nicest people you will ever interact with. I highly recommend Lucas Valley Cleaners.

Once again, I have to sing the praises of my gals at Lucas Valley Cleaners. Not only do they do a fantastic job with basic dry cleaning, but just having had my wedding dress altered there, I can say nothing but great things. It's so nice to have a trustworthy place so close to home that you can depend on for quality work. Price was commensurate with the work done, and they have also done basic repair for men's dress shirts in a very quick turnaround for an affordable price. Best part? Owner always sees me coming, has my dry cleaning ready with a smile and always remembers my name. That alone is a lost art, and well worth coming back again and again. Thanks, ladies! read more

This dry cleaners is close to my fathers home. Linda who runs this organized and clean shop is so friendly and helpful. She has great "energy " as we say here in Marin:). Everything comes out clean, but I mainly come here because of Linda. I feel like I'm part of a community when I come here from the warm welcome friendliness. Love to Linda! read more

I have been going to Lucas Valley Cleaners for a long time. They have met all my needs Cleaning out queen sized down comforters, Our elaborate hand knitted blankets as well all our Tommy Bahama silk dresses and shirts. GREAT, excellent venue that ALWAYS cleans perfectly my garments. Linda the owner: a kind, wonderful purveyor.....and always on time with my needs. Easy parking....and one minute of Hwy. 101. Thank you! read more

They do a great job for all your needs. Staying in a hotel and they handled dry cleaning and wash/fold quickly and for a fair price.

I had a problem with heavy grease stains(cheeseburger) on two different shirts. Naturally, they were my two favorites. We tried soaking them in OxyClean for a couple of days(we were out of town) to no avail. Came home and took them here. They came out as good as new. I cannot recommend this dry cleaners enough. If you have anything tough or just general dry cleaning, you have to try this place! And Linda, the new owner, has done a terrific job in remodeling and her personality is the best. She always has a cheerful greeting and a smile on her face! read more

An excellent dry cleaner!! Great customer service and reasonable prices! Linda is extremely pleasant. My new go to place in San Rafael

I had two pairs of pants which had oil-based spots that for some reason had set in using an instant stain remover pen. My dry cleaner made two attempts to get them out but couldn't. I took them, along with some shirts, to Lucas Valley Cleaners and they had no trouble getting the pants to look perfect. Shirts looked better than my dry cleaner too! As you probably guessed I now have a new dry cleaner, and highly recommend them! read more

I've been using Lucas Valley Cleaners for our laundry and custom tailoring needs for the past 10 years. They are friendly, fast and efficient. Thanks for a decade of dry cleaning, and of fixing suits and pants, girls dresses, blouses and shirts -- and more (like zippers on "favorite" school backpacks, and fringes on a 90-year-old table cloth). ... All with a smile! read more

Took my wife's dry cleaning here and they did an impeccable job. Also had them clean and repair a button on my suede coat. I frequently drop off loads of 20 to 30 dress shirts. Kay always takes care to follow my personalized instructions and is very efficient. They always come back in good condition, and she replaces buttons that come loose as a courtesy. It's nice to have a friendly local, competent dry cleaner! I have tried a few in the Lucas Valley / Terra Linda area and this provides the best combination of price and service. read more

I was a customer of the previous owners. So I wasn't sure at first. But that changed. My experience was excellent. The price was right, the turn around perfect. Linda was professional and very pleasant. Being that they run the plant, she assured me that there was more hands on with the service being provided. And that gave me an added assurance that the best service would be given. I am very pleased with and will continue to take my cleaning needs to Lucas Valley Cleaners read more

Went to Lucas valley cleaners a few time and had little to no problems with them, but they totally dropped the ball the last time I dropped off my dress shirt. The person working there told me that my shirt would be ready by Wednesday, for sure, and went in to pick up on Thursday and the shirt was still not ready. Mind you that I dropped off my shirt on Saturday the previous week. Disappointed in the service to say the least. read more

After the first cleaner I tried in San Rafael was awful I decided to try one near my job. Lucas Valley Cleaners was on the higher end of price for laundering and pressing men's dress shirts at $2 each but I'm happy to pay it if they come back with no problems. Sadly I've had issues both times I've gone in. The first time I had a black shirt come back with some sort of solvent mess all over it. Thankfully it washed out and the shirt was OK. The second batch came back with several missing and broken buttons. Before I moved to the North Bay I had a cleaner who charged $1.50 a shirt and was perfect every time - replacing buttons as needed and always cleaned and press flawlessly. read more

I was traveling and had to get my suit dry cleaned. I saw the Yelp review and tried this dry cleaner. The owner was very friendly and drop-off/pick-up was prompt and very easy. My first attempt in using their services. I gave them a white shirt with a small blood stain. I asked to have the shirt cleaned and pressed with starch. After two attempts in cleaning the shirt, the blood stain was not removed. And they still wanted me to pay to have the shirt cleaned - stating the the shirt is clean. Ridiculous ! ! ! read more

First time customer here - I found this place off Yelp and went in to drop off a pair of jeans for alterations. This place seems like a small family-owned business. Very friendly, professional vibe, and easy parking. I'll see how my alterations turn out this Thursday. read more

I have been going to this cleaners for years, its a great dry cleaners but it is the absolute best in the area for alterations. I have brought in some pretty difficult items of clothing to be taken in, hemmed or have had zippers redone. Kay the owners never says no, she always says we can do it!, the work is pure perfection and the prices are more in line then other places. I have gone to other alterations places in the area and have been told no I can not do what you are asking, but not Lucas valley Cleaners. This is a family ran business, you always know what to expect, nice friendly people who know what they are doing, and you don't have to wait two weeks to get your items back they are really fast. read more
