Great service great price. Let about 12 items for altering and all came back perfect. Glad I found them!

Lovely workmanship and people. Reasonably priced alterations done in a timely manner. Highly recommended!

I've come to Jaime and his team several times over the past year. Unabashedly, I usually come in with stacks of pants, shirts, and suits I need to have tailored--I tend to buy a lot of Italian brands online that need to be altered. Given the high price of these items (eg, $1000 pants--yeah, I know...), I need to go to someone with experience. I haven't been disappointed. He's also one of the few tailors who works with leather, and he's done a brilliant job with several pairs of leather pants and a jacket that needed alterations/repairs. There's a reason why he has such a long wait period--he's good. Quality takes time. read more

Jaime did the alterations for my daughters wedding dress and did a fantastic job. The alterations needed were complicated due to the style of the dress and the ornate hemline. The alterations turned out great and the dress was a perfect fit. Jamie and staff are very helpful, kind people and it was a pleasure working with them. read more

brought in a nice leather jacket that needed the sleeves shortened . Also a fake leather jacket, for which -- although I'm sure they would rather not have even touched fake leather! -- Jamie kindly consented to also alter the sleeves. i'm from out of town so he mailed the jackets to me in a timely way. Jamie is the nicest man and learned his trade when he was younger. Leather sewing is a skill that is disappearing. You don't want to take your leather alterations to someone who does not know leather. I would recommend Jamie's a 100 times over. read more

I purchased my wedding dress with J'aime and Cortney and had the most wonderful experience! Everyone was helpful, kind, attentive and made great selections when I needed some help narrowing down my search. The shop has an incredible selection and price ranges for all in addition to a great selection of veils. I'm SO happy I found them and recommend them to everyone! read more

Jaime's - My wedding dress - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - San Rafael, California

This is the only place I go for my alterations. I tried another spot in Novato only because Jaime's is closed on the weekends (which is a bummer), and I paid the price. Not only was the place in Novato expensive they left my pants uneven :-(. Lesson learned. read more

Jaime did an excellent job with my alteration! I was visiting in town and needed help to alter my suit prior to an interview before I left. Jaime was very accommodating and a pleasure to do business with. I would highly recommend anyone to do business here! Thank you! read more

I'm not happy with my experience and felt compelled to write a review. I came in here to get 2 pants altered and he said he was swamped with work and it would take him 3 weeks to have them ready. I took a leap of faith and decided to wait those 3 weeks. Fast forward to 3 weeks I get there and he tells me he hasn't worked on one of the pants and he went to the back and just cut them. Why did he have me wait 3 weeks?! He handed them to me CROOKED and I went back in and he re did it. I had specifically requested he did not hem them too short and he did just that. I told him "these cost me $400" and he didn't care. I'm 5'6 and now they're Steve Urkel and suited for someone shorter. I wanted more adjustments for the other pants and he said "it's just your body type I can't do anything else only alter length". My take away is he only cares if you have a wedding dress to alter ($$$$ more money) than bottoms. I don't recommend this place. read more

Really great alterations! I am used to bringing all my clothe when I travel to altérnate it at my home go to person.. but due to covid I look for someone local- I am so glad I found Jaime's business! He is a great professional and had a good covid protocol for safety during these times. I will definitely recommend it and be back! read more

Needed two suits altered for a wedding. Jaime did a great job. He's a quality tailor.

Oswaldo is true gentleman and an expert tailor! I am always welcomed when I arrive, and allowed as much time as I need to try-on my item and discuss what alterations I want to have done. I have had a tuxedo altered here and, most recently, a new blazer that needed just a bit of tailoring to achieve a modern look. Oswaldo has been very accommodating of my timing, rushing my tuxedo for an event, and their prices are extremely fair for the quality workmanship you get. I highly recommend! read more

Thanks to Minya at SuperFuture (which learned from cielo st StyleForum), I *finally* found a place in the bay area that does chainstitching!! I called and asked them about it, and it was like: "do you guys chainstitch?" "on what?" "jeans" "sure" "really?? so you guys have a union special machine?" "yes" HOLY SHIT! I am so there! read more

Was very happy with their work and turnaround time. I took a wetsuit in to get some Velcro sewn back on. I took the same wetsuit back in because the other side came off. I initially thought the sewing had fail, but it held strong, the original adhesive holding the Velcro on gave. When I took it in, half hour before closing, they took it and did it right on the spot and didn't even want to charge me, but I insisted on paying so was charged $4. Would have paid more for the quick repair. A dive shop would have charged much more. I would defiantly recommend going here, and will return if I have any more need. read more

Jaime & his brother Oswaldo are the best! They are experts at what they do. I've been going to them for many years and all their alterations come out perfectly. I'm a small person so nearly all my purchases need altering in some form or the other. The few times I've had to return because it wasn't quite right, (my fault, not theirs), they fix it without charging. I feel so fortunate to have them in our neighborhood. With Covid-19, their business may be hurting and I really hope that clients will return so they thrive again. read more

Excellent, professional, timely, reasonable, & thorough. Need I say more? I brought in a lace bridesmaid dress that needed to be taken in on the sides & walked out with it in hand within the week! The lace was maintained in perfect condition and the alterations were impeccable. Cash or check only. read more

Jaime's does an amazing job! I have brought cocktail dresses, ski pants, etc. and they're always altered perfectly. They've accommodated quick turnarounds and always charge a reasonable price. If there's anything I ever need tailored, especially if it's the slightest bit complicated, I won't go anywhere but Jaime's. Highly recommend! read more

I found Jaime on Yelp and am SO GLAD I did. He and his brother have altered at least 16 pieces of clothing for me in the past 6 weeks...everything is absolutely perfect! There were a few dresses that must have been very difficult as well, but every one fits like a glove...like they were made for my body. Not only are they both amazing at their skill, they are extremely kind. I enjoy my conversation with them each visit as well. It may be a little drive if you're living in SF, but well worth it. I will never trust or take my clothes anywhere else. read more

Jaime is nothing short of a miracle worker. Long story short, we were attending a wedding in San Rafael and just 15 minutes before the ceremony, my friend had a wardrobe malfunction with her dress zipper, which left her entire side exposed. I managed to close the dress with about 15 safety pins from the church office, but this was obviously a short-term fix that hopefully wasn't caught on too many of the ceremony photos! While this got us to the ceremony on time, it wasn't ideal. THANK YOU, Yelp, and an even bigger thank you to Jaime. As soon as our friends said I do, we searched for "tailor" and "San Rafael" and were delighted to find Jaime just .3 miles away. When we called, Jaime let us know he was already closed, but would wait around for us. We dodged cocktail hour before the reception, and just 5 minutes later, Jaime was working his magic - the zipper was fixed and you couldn't see a single hole from my safety pin quick fix. It could have been easy for Jaime to not pick up the phone when we called, or to simply stay closed since we called after hours, but he instead became our knight in shining armour. Not only did Jaime welcome us into his shop, he refused to let us pay (and we would have gladly paid extra for his services). He said, "someitmes, you just have to do good deeds for other people." A mere 15 minutes later, we made it back up the hill for some cocktails and small talk, and the entire wedding party was blown away by Jaime's expert and efficient tailoring. I hope the community of San Rafael will flood Jaime's shop - he's an excellent tailor and even better person. We are thankful for you, Jaime! read more

I went to Jaime's after some thorough research on Yelp regarding alterations in Marin County. The reviews for Jaime's were wonderful, and of most interest to me was the one that said what an excellent job they did on a pair of jeans. I brought Jaime a pair of jeans to have the waist tapered in. It sounds simple but the stitching on this jean is detailed and a big part of the style, similar to that of a "True Religion" jean. I was so delighted when I picked them up today and found that he made them fit perfectly. He had to make the alteration in a complicated area where several thick, double stitched seams came together and he made it look as though it had never been touched. I was very impressed that he not only maintained the character of the jean, but he did it skillfully. To top it off, he was kind enough to complete them by the time I needed them even though they are overwhelmingly busy with prom alterations. A family business run with pride. I can highly recommend Jaime's. read more

Jaime's is the superior alteration and tailor in the Bay area. Their work speaks for itself and it's clearly done by someone who is an expert in this field. They are at a location that's inconvenient for me and they are cash only and yet I make a point to go there when I need something altered, they are that good. I highly recommend Jaime's. read more

Jaime's is so nice and helpful! I know nothing about tailoring and they have helped me with everything from lengthening school uniforms, shortening tank top straps, taking in pants, and replacing lost or broken clips etc! Now I am going to get my patio pillows re-covered with new fabric and zippers so they last longer. They are wonderful and they make suggestions when I don't know what to do! read more
