I went to Current Electric to schedule service for my Generac generator that stopped working. I…read morewas informed by Current Electric they consider generators not running as a top priority, so a certified technician responded to my house within a few days. Devin was the certified technician who responded on time. He was professional, highly trained/qualified on Generac generators and even thoroughly explained what service was being performed to get my generator running again. He even offered me to purchase a spare part that was known to fail on Generac generators. What stands out the most about Devin is that he noticed my electric meter was not mounted to my house correctly. He inspected my meter and determined it was an immediate fire hazard. He again, explained the seriousness of the issue and that NIPSCO needed to be contacted immediately so they could address the matter. I called NIPSCO and a technician responded within 30 minutes. I was informed the electrical meter was a serious fire hazard. NIPSCO repaired my meter within 12 hours. Devin could have easily overlooked my electric meter or neglected to tell me about the issue. Instead, he felt the dire need to address such an important issue with me that was not work related to him. My generator would not be running if not for Current Electric and Devin. Current Electric is fortunate to have a dedicated, highly trained/qualified and professional employee like Devin. More importantly, he prevented the likelihood of my electric meter and house catching fire in the near future. He certainly went above and beyond in my opinion. Lastly, the price for service that Current Electric charges is very reasonable. I honestly expected to pay more for the service. Current Electric and Devin are committed to high quality customer service which seems harder to find these days. I will certainly contact Current Electric and request Devin for any future service calls! Anyone needing electrical or Generac generator service should also call Current Electric and request Devin as your repair technician. Thank you Current Electric and Devin!

You will be led to believe that the $98 service call will be waived if you hire them to do the work. Wrong. The $98 is to get them to drive to your house. The complimentary system check will regurgitate back to you what you described the problem to be when you called. then you will be told that to diagnose one circuit, the charge will be in excess of $600. Have a light that doesn't work? That will be in excess of $300, not to fix it, Lord no, just to determine what the issue is... Oh, you actually want something fixed? That is a whole new charge, not disclosed until after you've already invested an outrageous sum in the diagnosis. So, I found myself in this situation today. They had a recoding of my original call on hand to play back to me so they could demonstrate how effective their deceptive script is. They "generously" decided to "go against policy" and include the $98 in my bill for a minor diagnostic of a light, for only $344, not to get it to work, mind you, simply to tell me what was wrong, as long as it didn't go beyond the scope of a minor diagnostic. God knows what the charge would be if it was more than minor, again JUST to diagnose. So, I agreed to take this step and authorized the minor diagnostic. But, then I immediately went to Google a posted a negative review of my experience. Amazingly, in minutes I received both a text and a call from this company demanding to know why I was posting a negative complaint, and wondering if I still wanted the diagnosis. I told them, yes, I was still willing to get the diagnostic done. Then, I was told they would not do the work, because of my post, and they didn't want a customer like me. If ever a company could culturally have a black heart, this friends is one of them. Avoid, avoid, avoid!!!!
