AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. I took my car here yesterday to have my headlights replaced - not the assemblies, just the bulbs, which I'd purchased at an auto parts store. I pulled in and asked how much it would cost to have some headlights installed. A man who seemed to be the owner, or at least a manager, told me that he would take a look and tell me the price. This didn't concern me too much, as I know engine compartments can be pretty tightly packed, and the bulbs may be hard to get to in some cars. He took a look, walked back over to my window, and asked me for the bulbs I had purchased. I handed him the package of white, halogen bulbs and he said they were the wrong bulbs for my car and urged me to buy bulbs from him instead. He argued that I'd bought blue xenon bulbs. I told him that the bulbs were indeed white halogen bulbs, as stated on the package (and confirmed by the person who helped me at the auto parts store). He walked away wordlessly and came back with some bulbs he had in stock (which he was handling with his bare, filthy, greasy hands) that he thought I should use instead. At this point, I knew he was either trying to rip me off or he didn't know what he was doing. Either way, I didn't want him to perform any work on my car. When I refused the bulbs he was trying to sell me, he told me that if I wanted to just exchange the bulbs I bought for the "correct" ones and come back in, he would install them and just charge me $15. I said okay to this because I just wanted to go. I had no intention of actually going back. He said okay and reiterated that it was $15. Again, I told him okay, and that I'd come back after I exchanged the bulbs. He said he needed the $15 now and that I could come back later or the next day. I was confused, and told him that I didn't need him to do any work at this time. He said that I needed to pay him for his time. I told him I wasn't paying him, as he hadn't done anything. (To his credit, he did spend approximately 10 seconds looking under the wheel well, so this would make his rate about $5,400/hour.) He started yelling at me, saying that its not his fault I changed my mind, and that I had to pay him for his time, or I couldn't leave. My cell phone was completely dead so I couldn't call anyone. Now I am a short woman and this was a large imposing man. It was evident at this point that he was trying to intimidate me into paying him for work he hadn't done. I had remained calm and polite up until this point. I got out of my car and started yelling back at him. He tried to get another customer involved, pointing at me, and saying, "Do you see how she's acting?" (The other customer refused to get involved.) At this point, the situation was getting a little scary, and again, I had a dead cell phone. I looked on and around the bay doors, but didn't see a way to open them. I turned my car back on (because my phone charger only works when the car is on) and he screamed at me to turn it off. I had to finally pay him the $15 to leave and then I immediately (as soon as my phone was charged enough to turn back on) called my bank, explained the entire situation, and got the payment stopped. My experience at this place was unsettling, and I wish I could rate it less than 1 star. My only solace is that as I was leaving, I did tell him that I hoped he burned in the deepest pits of hell for all eternity. read more

Had a catylactic converter cut off my car. Brought it here to be fixed. Paid good money. Brought it back because it became loud again, only to be told a $10 clamp was needed. Couple days later it was loud again..now I'm told pipe rusted $53. Today start it up and the thing sounded like a tank and converter was hanging. Bring it to him doing 10 miles an hour because its dragging. He says its nothing he did wrong another clamp rusted and caused it. Why wouldnt u just fix all clamps at once if they were rusted for an additional $10 as opposed to risk the several hundred I already paid?? Told me id have to leave the car till Monday after telling me the other day he has had several cut off in his lot.. plus it would be another fee because.. not his fault.? Now I'm out a lot off money only to have my car sitting at a muffler place to pay more. This place should be shut down! Sam the owner laughed, didn't give a crap and was confrontational! Dnt go there!!! Update: Got my car fixed right as I couldnt wait to go back a 4th time and be charged again only to have it done half a**ed and I'll never give him business again. New place said the parts put on should of been welded not just clamped ( with rusted clamps at that) and were not put on right to begin with! read more

If you don't know fair repair prices or how much parts cost, stay away from this place. They will take advantage of you if you don't know what you're doing. I took my car in for some repairs and paid $1000 to do a job that most mechanics would charge about $600 for but didn't know until it was too late. On top of overcharging me, they did a half-a** job and broke other parts as well! They also fixed my control arm and did not perform an alignment. A couple days after I got my car back it was wobbling and making terrible grinding noises, and when I brought it to another mechanic he showed me that my front passenger side wheel was loose enough to move around quite a bit WITH YOUR HANDS! The wheel was not like this before I took it to Lube-N-Go. If you want a great job done at a fair price take your car to Sonny's Auto Repair at Ann Arbor Trail and Middlebelt. He fixed everything this place broke as well as the things they overlooked, and waived the labor fee for two of the things he fixed. He told me he did this because he hates to see a young girl taken advantage of and he didn't want me driving a dangerous car. I will never bring my business to Lube-N-Go again, and will be spreading the word. read more
