I hired Luis because he had good reviews and seemed qualified to install and paint my casings and baseboards. When I met him he seemed like a nice guy and his price was reasonable (not the cheapest). I gave him all of the instructions on how to install the trim and then left to work. When I came home, I found most of the trim work done. On closer inspection, I discovered a lot of problems. The biggest problem is that they did not glue the mitered corners. I did not realize that I had to tell a carpenter to glue two pieces of wood together. Without glue, the corners will eventually shift and the paint will wrinkle. This means that I would have to sand and paint my trim every year. In addition, he installed the casings crooked and the reveals were uneven. Since we have flat baseboards, they decided not to miter the corners and just butt them up against each other. The baseboard has a slightly rolled edge and left a line at all the corners. Furthermore, he nailed the baseboards to the drywall and not the studs. And the list of problems goes on and on. I had to stop his work after the first day. Being a nice guy, I still paid him what was fair for a days work, but now I am left with more work and having to rip out and purchase the trim that he messed up. I feel sorry for anyone who had trim installed by Luis and his team. It will not last very long. I hope when Luis reads this review that he reconsiders how he works. There is an old saying "Haste makes waste." He tried to work too fast and sacrificed quality of work. If he would strive for excellence, he will always have a happy customer.
