the secret to staying in business 105 years? do everything right! wilshire tile does…read moreeverything....right! when i need work done in my master bath, like anyone can, call a plumber and begin a multi-month odysee full of headaches and searching qualified workmen. i wanted to replace a leaking shower installed only 5 years ago i needed: leak detection, demolition & removal, hot mopping, concrete, reframing, and tiling before installing custom glass wall and door followed by touch up painting and cleanup. this involved six different skilled artisans. randy, 4th generation family owner made this complicated sequence of talent easy for me: he arranged all the professionals seamlessly and designated a project manager to keep everyone in sequence and on timeline. i knew what was being done each day and who would be in and what hours. i am owner but the brentwood condo i own has 3 bed 3bath and two of the occupants work remote from the condo. wilshire made sure the minimum noise and careful isolation kept dust contained. the price was right if i had worked with 6 companies each one would have created set up, scheduling and travel costs: unnecessary costs, cleanups, lost keys, scheduling and mis-communication were avoided. instead of enduring that nightmare: wilshire tile got our job completed one week earlier than promised! wilshire tile does it right so they can build your grandchildren's bathrooms!!! when they are through taking care of mine! wilshire tile is amazing

The tile in one bathroom was discolored, and he said it could be cleaned and sealed, and we needed tile flooring in our other bathroom replaced. Randy was friendly and approachable, and I planned to see how the smaller project went before hiring him for the larger project we needed tackled. Unfortunately, the experience was awful. A subcontractor/employee showed up on the agreed date to clean and seal the tile, and spent a couple of hours what sounded like physically scraping the tile - not what I expected. His coworker showed up a couple hours later, and told me that this plan was not going to work - that even if they could get the tile clean and seal it, the staining would come right back. He told me to have them leave, because Randy would still charge me for them being there. I went in the bathroom after they left, and it literally looked no different except there was dust everywhere - they did not clean up. I waited for a follow-up call or email from Randy - nothing. I was mad, but decided to put it behind me. A week later, I received a bill. I wrote a very frank email to Randy explaining my disappointment with the workers sent, the fact that no work was even done, and my confusion that he didn't even bother contacting me afterward. He apologized profusely and said he would follow up with me the next day. He did not follow up with me about the work, ever. But I have still been getting bills from this company!! I have emailed him multiple times, and he's told me to ignore them, but that is not an acceptable response - every time I see one of these emails, I am newly angry about the time I wasted on this endeavor. I gave him plenty of time and opportunity to make this right, and he did not even bother to try. I am writing this review because once again, I have gotten an invoice for this "work". Would not recommend.

TL;DR if you were looking for a sign to hire Dan from Grout Doctor, this is it!!! Dan made our…read moreshower feel and look like a fancy hotel shower! I bought a townhome in 2022 and the previous owners were super dirty and the shower was no exception. We did our best to clean it when we moved in and eventually accepted the dirty floors and grout. The shower was badly caulked and mold got under the silicone in every corner and I hated looking at it. Tried to scrape off the old caulk myself but it took way too long and I realized the grout underneath was crumbling. Called Dan, he answered immediately and sent me an estimate. Dan is super friendly and gave me a lot of details on the work he would do on the shower. I had reached out to another company about it but honestly they were super curt and I didn't get the warm fuzzies from them, unlike when we spoke to Dan. But WOW - the attention to detail. Dan cleaned and scrubbed every inch of the shower, including the glass. And he got some very tricky stains off of the shower knob and the floor. He added new grout wherever it was needed - in the exact color match too. He also added sealant all over and a special caulk with sand in it that will flex as the house expands and contracts to prevent the grout from cracking. I just used my shower after the 32 hour dry period and it was absolutely amazing. It felt clean and new and because of the sealant Dan applied, all the water beaded up nicely and I can tell it will make the shower super easy to clean. Absolutely stoked, I've had a lot of contractors in and out to fix the place up in the past 2 years but this is one job that I'm probably the most excited for. And the price was very reasonable!! Thank you SO much Dan!!!

I waited a few weeks and tried again and finally got in touch with Manuel at Stone Polish. We settled on a date and I confirmed the day earlier to make sure he was still coming. He messaged me back quickly and the next day he showed up 20 minutes early. We discussed the situation and the process for repairing the granite behind the sink. About two hours later he was finished. It's significantly better than what it was. There were a number of granite chunks and pieces that were loose plus, some of the metal reinforcement was so bad, it had disintegrated. Manuel reused some of the larger pieces and used epoxy to blend in some of the other areas. All in all, we're very happy with the outcome. Manuel was very personable and I wouldn't hesitate to call him again.

No words needed, just take a look at the pictures. In addition to that, I have not been provided with a written estimate. We agreed on $540 for tile cleaning, repairs, recaulking for a shower + $125 for bathtub recaulking. When he started the work he suggested to redo grouting for the whole shower: I'll do it for one fifty" he said. I repeated to make sure "one fifty"? Yes. So I assumed he'll charge me an additional $150 for regrouting. It turned out he meant $1500. This business should not be on a market at all. I was not provided with any receipt as well. Update. The answer from Peter is just a joke. The pictures he provided as "before" are actually pictures "after" so nothing changed accept for the neat unsanded grout that I had was removed and replaced with rough sanded grout, the excess of which was not removed properly, so my whole shower has a rough surface now. Very hard to clean surface. One more time - pictures Peter provided in his reply are pictures "after" not "before", so he didn't even clean the tile in corners!
