After having spent a considerable amount of time meeting with and evaluating a number of…read moreestablished plumbers to do a considerable amount of work at our home, including adding a large section of new copper piping, installing a Reverse Osmosis filtration system, installing a new water heater and also a hot water circular pump...for instant hot water throughout our home, we ended up convinced that Cahill Plumbing was not only a company of the highest integrity that could be relied upon, both now and over the months and years ahead, but that their team of licensed plumbers had the resources, knowledge and skill to do the right things the right way. We have had many of our projects completed now...with several more about to get underway and I am happy to report that we are 100% happy with our choice as well as all of the work that has been completed so far. On the day before the project got underway, Cahill's Plumbing Director, Andy Visconti...a man in whom we have complete confidence, called to review what his team would do and who he had dispatched to do the job. Three plumbers, two licensed and one journeyman, arrived on time, covered their boots, explained their strategy in detail, answered all of our questions and then worked efficiently all day, stopping only to answer any question I might have had and provide me with a detailed progress report. If they experienced anything unforeseen, which is bound to happen in projects of this size, they called it to my attention and explained their workaround solution. It was fascinating to witness their teamwork and creativity. Disclaimer: I should state that I had no prior relationship, either personal or professional, with Cahill or any of their employees, including those who did such excellent work at our home last week: Tyler, who managed the project...and besides being a kind and very friendly young man, is excellent at what he does; Austin, Tyler's very capable assistant and Matt, the rookie, neither of whom ever appeared to stop to take a breath. Working together, they were a formidable team you could rely on and trust. Bottom Line If you need any plumbing done at your home, be it a large or small project, you'd be wise to give Cahill a chance to do the right things, right! We rate Cahill FIVE STARS and are very happy and confident to have them available to be 'our plumbers' from now on! Cahill is a company you can trust and be confident in. Mm...did I mention how fair and reasonable their pricing was? It was! They also came back 4 months later and did an oil change on the system. customer service was top notch. The best part? GSHA beat the price quote from B Electric in Skokie by 40%. If you're thinking about a generator this is who you want to contact.

I am writing a response to the GSHA rebuttal of my review. As many of you know, when a company is…read moretrying to save face, they will use a mixture of partial truths, SELECTIVE omissions, and double speak. Let me include some parts that Peter SELECTIVELY left out. I did buy a complete furnace/AC/Thermostat from GSHA. In that package included a 10 year parts/labor and 5 years of maintenance. NOTHING was free. It was all included in the package price. Included in the package was a Lennox icomfort wifi smart thermostat. This thermostat required connection to wifi. Well, after a short period of time, it would drop connection. it did this every day. When a technician would conduct my maintenance, all they did was reconnect it, which I knew how to do myself. After a day it would lose connection. Other than programming the thermostat, it worked fine as long as I changed the temp and switched it on or off manually. So basically I had a $750 thermostat that operated like a $50 one you could buy at Home Depot. But as long as it worked manually, I was accepting. Then last December 2024, the screen started going in and out. Now I couldn't even change the temp or turn it on and off. So I called GSHA. They came, diagnosed and said I needed a new Lennox thermostat, with a price of around $800. According to the office manager Maria, it had to be a Lennox thermostat. When I researched the Lennox icomfort thermostats, I realized they are pretty bad products, with many people complaining about losing wifi connection. Obviously I was concerned about installing another $800 thermostat that wouldn't be any better than the old one. So I called GSHA and requested a call back from Peter at least 3 more times. I wanted to know: 1. Is this newer model $800 Lennox thermostat any better than the old one, and 2. Are there cheaper options? I think these were reasonable questions. As you recall, I was in a bind, I had an existing thermostat where I couldn't change the temp in the house. At least 3 times, Maria told me she would have Peter call me. Did he ever call me, NO. Even knowing I had a non functioning thermostat in winter, he couldn't find 5 minutes in close to a month to call me back. That will tell you what kind of customer support he provides. So at some point, I had no choice but to contact Lennox Corporate to find another local Premier Lennox Company to replace my thermostat. I called them, American Vintage Home, they came over and guess what? They installed a new non Lennox thermostat for about 1/4 of the price of GSHA. So I continued to use them for my yearly maintenance and cleaning. In my last inspection they noticed some repairs that were needed to my condenser. They called Lennox, and the parts were covered, but Lennox advised that the labor warranty was not Lennox but GSHA. Lennox Corporate advised using GSHA since there would be no charge to me. So I contacted GSHA 2 times by email, 2 times by phone, and once by certified letter asking them to complete the required repairs. Guess what happened? The great customer service of GSHA didn't even have the time to call me back. THEY TOTALLY IGNORED ME, JUST AS PETER DID A YEAR EARLIER. Why would he call me? There was no money to be made by him. Recurring theme here. No MONEY, NO PETER. So I completed the repairs with American Vintage Home, a far more reputable company than GSHA. Now in reading the contract I signed, it does say that yearly service needs to be conducted, NOT BY GSHA, but by a CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN, ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURERS REQUIREMENTS. American Vintage Home meets that requirement and is a Premier Lennox dealer. I got their name from Lennox Corporate. So in his rebuttal, Peter was using double speak, half truths, an omissions to try to justify the lack of response and support by his company. So fellow Yelpers, the bottom line is it is your money. You have a choice where to spend it. If you choose to spend it on GSHA, in my opinion you are making a huge mistake. And you will learn this the hard way, like I did, when they totally ignore you when you are in your biggest need. .

I said what about a space pac type system. They said that would be more cost effective and quoted it at about $30K. But I did, and after a bunch of quotes I went with Ireland Air, Couldn't have been happier. They were the lowest but they we a third less and seemed much more knowledgeable!

The boss, David Ireland, has been to my house to evaluate a difficult problem. It took him 15 seconds to find my problem and eventually put in a new air conditioner for me. He explains things clearly and is very experienced, very patient, and an all around pleasure. Then I had a problem which no one could solve for 3 months. A terrible blowing and buzzing noise throughout the house. It was making me crazy. Kyle, the wonderful guy in the office who schedules and does many other things, sent me a younger technician, JOE, who got right to work. He admitted that the noise was way too loud and not normal, and was the only person I had had thus far who thought the furnace/AC was working properly. He went through the whole unit very systematically and shortly explained what he thought was wrong. He proposed I order a part, went right then and bought one, installed it, and presto! - there was no more buzzing! This young man was professional, persistent, patient, and a delight to interact with. For me today, Joe was worth his weight in gold and took a major problem off my bucket list! .......But there's more - he found an issue with my office air/heat unit, changed batteries in related equipment that no one had done before, cleaned rust off the outside unit - which was a first, didn't suggest we replace the unit which is pretty old but thought a replacement part would serve us well for a time. Joe cares about his customers and their money, and is very careful not to err. I watched everything he did and was very impressed - and I'm pretty fussy about workmen! If you have what you think is a unsolvable problem, call and ask for Joe to show up on your doorstep! He even suggested we get new carbon monoxide detectors and tole us where to put them. He looked at our situation and equipment in a wholistic way and didn't miss a trick. L Weiss
