I had a leak somewhere around a second story window that let rainwater into the house. Art was the first to respond to a few calls I made to local contractors and we setup an appointment for an estimate the next morning. He shows up with a crew, makes a bid, and then pushes to get started: "This is the day to do it. You've got a leak in your house!" Seems to be the MO: first to respond, high sales pressure. At the end of the day, the job site was well-cleaned and the second story window looked OK at first glance. Several days later, I saw siding flapping above the window. Going up to look, I saw the siding that had been reinstalled after they had sealed the leaking areas had been trimmed too short to stay behind the J-channel. There were also about 5-6 new cracks several places in the vinyl and also several steel nails, now with visible rust, that had been used to hold the vinyl siding latched together. I would have preferred new siding purchased and installed if pieces were cracked during the re-install, but was not given the option. Art was very responsive to a call regarding these issues and came back out the same day with his siding guy. They took a look and we discussed. Art preferred, and I agreed, not to take pieces off and potentially expose new holes that could admit water. I complained the siding was cut and now it doesn't fit well; the siding guy gave a speech claiming he did not cut it. The discussion ended with Art saying "we'll doctor it up". 15 minutes later they had disappeared without a word. They caulked most of the cracks they had created and added more face nails through the vinyl to keep it in place above the window. A couple other off-handed comments that afternoon made me question his ethics and quality standards. Art pointed to some cracked siding in the bottom course due to the lawnmower - and seemed to imply that I shouldn't worry about cracks they had made around the window since I already had some cracked siding down below. He also distanced himself from the quality issue saying he was just the roofing guy - he didn't work on the siding. I would expect the company owner (?) and crew chief to take ownership for the entirety of the project, including the final quality.

Michael Prate came out himself and walked me through the job. We had used them before to replace a hail-damaged shake roof about 20 years ago and they did a fine job. When we decided to remove the shake because of age and insurance issues. (No insurance company is happy with shakes), The crew arrived on time (early) every day. They were very professional and courteous. Carlos was the lead and he was super. He even went above and beyond by taking down our old satellite dish and even was willing to wash our two skylights. Art was the clean-up man and he literally filled a huge dumpster and another smaller one with our roof debris, by himself. What a guy. Every night they cleaned up like they were finished and not coming back. The job took three days but it looks great. They sent an inspector out to check the job the following day. I can't recommend them highly enough.

He does a…read morethorough and professional job, using equipment that a regular homeowner just doesn't have, and getting even second story window ledges and trim clean of that perpetual dusty buildup. This time we also asked him to wash our driveway, and out of his truck he pulled a device that looked like a floor sander! He hosed down the driveway to rid it from leaves and stones, then he scrubbed it with the floor-sander-like device, and finally he powerwashed it. Wow. It looks terrific. I really like how fresh and clean all of our cement and brick looks, and of course he got the old bird nest residue as well. Over the last winter, we had two very small roof leaks. It was apparent there had to be enough…read morestanding water and the wind blowing a certain way for the leak to occur. But I still needed it fixed. I called AMB for a REPAIR estimate. What we received instead were two NEW roof estimates. One for $79,455 and the second one for $66,755. This was after they took a core sample. Do your research when working on your roof. We absolutely did not need a new roof. We knew that and every other company that came out, agreed. I was not going to post a review on this ridiculous encounter until the company we actually hired to repair and reseal the roof came across the core sample. They informed us that it was not put back properly and was actually stuck back in with caulk and the caulk used doesn't even adhere to roofing materials. Had this not been found and repaired properly, we could have had serious roof and interior damage. Unbelievable. This whole experience is, at the minimum, really bad business practices. At the most, it borders on fraud and negligence. Buyer beware. Update: I obviously ruffled some feathers. lol. I initially had written a six page review, listing every single detail but decided against posting that. Nobody is interested in reading a novel. Bottom line is we called for a repair. We do not need a new roof. We needed repairs and a reseal. We discussed a repair. AMB pushed for a full, new roof quote as the "repair quote would be 50% of what a new roof would cost". My husband said fine, but that he was really only interested in a repair. Btw, I am only discussing here the house and attached garage. The detached garage is an entirely separate issue. My husband is sitting here flabbergasted at this company's response to the core sample and how it was left. Because what was said here is not what he was told on site.
