However, I was given "special" x-rays without any indication these would come at a cost...of $150! My insurance did not cover the x-rays, so I called them to see what they would do. Absolutely nothing. I even proposed paying half of the bill to settle the issue. After paying the full amount, I immediately started looking for a new dentist. If you decide to try Dr. Klausen's office I'd advise asking plenty of questions to make sure they don't nickel and dime you with their fancy x-rays.

On closer inspection, this dentist does not accept any Delta Dental plan at all. If they took any form of Delta Dental insurance, just not my particular sub-plan, I would say, "Oh, my mistake." And in the future, when finding another dentist, I will be certain to double-check. But this was clearly on them. I was up front about my coverage. They were duplicitous about what they accepted.

I saw Dr. Kemmitt during his entire career from right out of Dental School until his retirement…read more His skills got better and better over the years. First and foremost, I'd like to say that the dental hygienists are exceptional. They are attentive…read moreand thorough, and they are the only reason that I would suggest this practice. However, Dr. Gregory J. Kemmitt is everything that they are not. He is short, unprofessional and his work is pitiful. Dr. Kemmitt is the only dentist to give me a filling, so I trusted him wholeheartedly. First, although, they were only surface fillings, I had excessive pain afterwards. One tooth in particular caused daily pain every time that I ate anything that required real chewing - ie, red meat, broccoli, etc. I went back immediately, Dr. Kemmitt, examined me with his shaky hands, and told me it was likely some type of gum irritation and told me to continue to floss and gargle with peroxide based rinse. I did that, but the daily pain persisted. I saw him two additional times; each time, he was dismissive and rude. Finally, over a year later, I went to see another dentist, who listened (imagine that). He was able to fix the problem in ten minutes. The filling that Kemmitt put in was so high and sloppy that my natural bite pattern was inhibited and putting too much pressure on the ligament under that tooth. I bit down on a strip that showed all of the force in the center or my tooth. The new dentist did a little filing and polishing, and when I bit down again the strip showed the force on the cusps of my teeth, where it belongs. When I called Dr. Kemmitt to explain how this year old issue was resolved in 10 minutes, he told me that I sounded bitter and that I should have told him that the filling felt high...unbelievable. I can't speak for the other dentists, at Blue Ridge, but Dr. Greg Kemmitt is way off in every health professional category and standard.
