This place is close by my home so we decided to go there a few months ago. The previous year I went to a better location, and I found out I needed braces. For a couple of reasons. As we were there the lady kept telling me my teeth were fine my teeth wasn't crooked. My dad got mad a little because he knows that my teeth hurt from placement and I have an overbite. At the end they give you cheap toothbrush and cheap toothpaste. Overall I rate this place 2 stars. read more

Wonderful experience. My son hasn't seen a dentist in a while due to his autism and his anxiety about going. We finally made him go and it was a better experience then I was expecting. The lady who cleaned his teeth(short blonde hair, tall lady- I forget her name) was wonderful. She was friendly and comforting and made him feel at ease. The doctor (again - I'm terrible with names - but the one with the cochlear implant) we also very friendly, informative, and gentle. We were told to make another appt to get sealants on his molars. As we were checking out the lady told us her other appt cancelled and she could see him now for the sealants if we weren't busy. We did it and everything went great. She even gave my daughter (not being seen) a prize for waiting so long. Highly recommend! read more

I'm embarrassed to admit that I haven't been to the dentist in a few years. I have extreme phobia when it comes to going to the dentist (yeah, go head, call me an "anti-dentite"...I'm okay with it)... So, finally, I decided it was time to get my teeth checked out, cleaned, and the last 2 of my wisdom teeth removed. Since apparently, my old dentist doesn't accept my new insurance (really? I have been going to the same dentist for 10+ years now, and they turn me away now? Whatever. Doodyheads.) I was forced to find myself a new dentist...and Family & Cosmetic Gentle Dentistry was recommended to me by my old doodyhead dentist... Anyhow...while I was at Family & Cosmetic Gentle Dentistry....the front desk was very nice & helpful. The hygienist that cleaned my teeth (Hai) was awesome. He explained everything as he went along & kept making sure that I was okay and not in any pain...and he was quite quick! At the end of my xray's and cleaning, the dentist came in to poke at my teeth & deliver the final verdict...2 wisdom teeth that definitely do need to come out + 2 cavities (well, one is a filling that fell out some time ago & the other is a genuine cavity). Not too bad for a girl who is addicted to drinking soda & eating candy...mmmm....sugar.. :) Overall, my appointment went quite well. Why only 3 stars then? Well, the office wasn't all that inviting, my room was right outside of the reception area (where I could hear the receptionists & other hygienists making jokes and small talk with each other - it might seem like it could be a comforting thing - but it was not. Not to me.) Also, at this location, they don't have access to nitrous oxide (aka, laughing gas) and that is something I am going to NEED if they plan to pull my wisdom teeth out...so I was referred to a different location... read more

Horrible service from front desk. Needed to get my xrays sent over for a referral but took way to long. Then had to call several times to get them sent. They complained they were to busy to do them and could take up to 24 hours even though I was sitting in my oral surgeons office to get a consult on my wisdom teeth. Luckily the women at the office demanded them and they sent it over it 10 mins SO were they really that busy or hard to do. read more

First off, I hadn't been to a dentist in a VERY LONG TIME--I just never made the time--shame on me! Though this office is not MODERN, perhaps a little run down (cosmetically), I have to say that I really felt at ease with the staff. They were very polite, professional and friendly. Does the staff have a good rapport with each other and chat a lot--yes. But that to me is a good thing--good working relationships. Since I hadn't been to a dentist in so long, and knew I had some dental "issues" that needed to be addressed--a few broken teeth due to old fillings falling out--I was asked if I wanted that taken care of first or my teeth cleaned first. From a previous experience, I chose to get the dental issues taken care of first. The dentist is very friendly, took the time to explain everything to me (and even though he is Lebanese his English is broken, but VERY GOOD--so take the time to LISTEN!) and really put me at ease about the the procedures he was going to be doing! I had a very large filling put in my very back top molar and the dentist wasn't sure if it was going to take or not due to the fact that it was one of my broken teeth and the old filling was very deep and right next to the nerve. I may have ended up having to have a root canal done, but we were going to wait and see. The dentist did his part and filled the tooth and left the polishing / evening out to the dental hygienist and went on my way. Now we all know that when we have Novocaine, we can't feel whether or not we are biting, biting hard enough, etc. Apparently my bite was slightly off and over the next few days began to cause me a great deal of pain. I called the office and they got me in IMMEDIATELY!! They took an x-ray to make sure there was no abscess, asked me if the pain was waking me up at night after I was asleep (NO) which would have indicated a root canal was needed. Thank goodness it wasn't. The dentist himself came in and made sure the tooth got "right" and sent me on my way. When the Novocaine wore off, I was good to go! I so appreciated their concern and care. They knew my "issue" was causing a great deal of pain and knew that it was IMPORTANT for me to be seen IMMEDIATELY, and made sure I was. Would I refer anyone to this clinic? ABSOLUTELY!! Unless of course you are more worried about the cosmetics of the office instead of your teeth :) read more

Absolutely the worst dental office I've ever come across. The office is run down, the exam chairs are worn and dirty, the staff is unprofessional and not all the dentists speak fluent English. Go to this dental office if you absolutely have NO other option. Otherwise, save yourself the grief and go to a good place. read more

Zero stars. I first made an appointment about 2 months down the road as that was the next available. Then they called me the day of and said they need to reschedule my appointment due to the fact that both the dentist and the assistant were both out sick that day. Ok no problem let's reschedule so I rescheduled. The appointment got moved to December 1st. They called me the day before on November 30th to tell me that they need to cancel my appointment all together as they can no longer take my HMO insurance! I repeat, they called me the day before! I had already been in the system as a new patient with this insurance. They tried to reroute me to the New Hope office, but as I am new here to the Twin Cities I was unaware of where New Hope is. Come to find out it's quite far from me. I asked them, "Why is this something that is happening now?! Why wasn't this addressed before?!" No reply on that. So when it comes down to it, what this dentist office did was completely unethical. I was already in their system. They didn't want to deal with not receiving any money on the end from the HMO insurance so they canceled me all together, which is unethical. They were completely unapologetic, more like a matter of fact, we don't want you here. I would try to sue but with today's society, the underdog is shit out of luck. Don't give this business your money, even if it's insurance money. read more

The dental assistant I had made me feel uncomfortable the whole time. She had an attitude while she was cleaning my teeth. I believe her name was Eva. When the actual dentist came in her mood switched. She started laughing, smiling and joking with the dentist but when the dentist left she immediately went back to her negative energy. This place is absolutely disgusting. I was treated very rudely, and they had no respect for me having my young daughter with me. It was hard for me to get my teeth cleaned because of my daughter and having her distracted and playing with something. They didn't offer any help for finding something for my daughter to play with. They were disrespectful to me and my child. Never come here with children. Never come here at all. I will definitely be moving dentists. read more

So my first time to the dentist...in a while...I called around to get in for a cleaning and was surprised at the quick appointment I received. Went in for my cleaning and was treated really well. When I overpaid on a cavity it took forever to get a refund. After five phone calls and speaking to Brenda and the lady in marketing and another lady in billing. They claim they are going to send a check this Friday. Also the person in marketing named Amy hung upp on me. One person named Brenda would keep telling me all the checks on the way or it's in process. Then another person would say oh it takes 4 to 6 weeks that another person would say you could take 90 days. They kept accusing my insurance company of being the problem. I checked with my insurance company they had already been paid the money etc. everything was paid up so there was lots of excuses and a lot of phone calls from me and a lot of calling. I 100% recommend Gentle Dentistry. I have and do recommend them to everyone who references that they have to go to the dentist. I'm always seen immediately (i go first thing in the morning) and the appointment always finishes within 30 minutes if nothing additional is required. Twice they fixed a chipped tooth for me on the spot without an appointment to do so. The second time was over a year ago and the filling still looks great (both times the filling/fix matched my tooth perfectly). read more

I felt very cared for and listened to at this office. Dianna helped me from the first phone call. She helped me find a way to pay for my dental work. I have been very afraid of the dentist since I was young. My husband needed very little work, but I needed alot. Hai helped me with my deep cleaning and the doctor took it slow and easy. She was great. My husband and I have gone on many mission trips with our church. I felt this group provide excellent service and were deeply passionate about doing so. This Dentist office was very useful when it comes to tooth extractions DR Wilbur was awesome at extracting. I do have a problem with there message system when they say they are open Monday thru Friday form 9am to 5pm they should mean it. I am a new client for Family and Cosmetic Dentistry and I was a little nervous when I went in and observed the rather tattered look of the waiting room. This is when I decided that I was not being treated in the waiting room but in the rooms where the dentists work. It was determined that none of my teeth could be salvaged. The type of insurance that I have will not pay for implants or partials. So, on yesterday..I had twenty one teeth pulled and my dentures placed immediately. Yes, there are some little glitches that I have seen.The new recruits so to speak...go overboard to make you comfortable while forgetting some things they are supposed to tell you...but the main people, beginning with Dr. Hai and some others are highly professional and the dentist who did my extractions yesterday, Dr. Abou and his assistant Kelli are just wonderful and their approach is professional and UN-hurried and Ryan the receptionist is really funny and professional. He is a person who remembers your name and face. That is important to me. I understand why people are turned off by the appearance of the waiting room. After all, this is just a little house and not a big modern office, but they are moving to a new location. and I am sure it will be better. read more
