I had to wait in the chair for a very long time after the cleaning to speak with the doctor (so long I had to make calls to cancel things and make alternate arrangements for my kids). When the dentist finally came in, she started a conversation about the high costs of running a dental practice?!? (We had only met one time before this). She then seemed shocked when she presented her very elaborate plan to me and I responded with "yes, lets please start with the most urgent and space treatment out because cost is a very serious concern and barrier". she then sent her hygienist in to ask me if I wanted veneers!!!!!! months later, a $500 bill arrived..... that did not at all match any of the estimates and promises I had been given for a simple cleaning and xrays. now that I am here looking through other reviews, I see that this is something other patients have experienced as well. truly unfortunate since it is a nice office with a great premise.

A polite lady said that they had been on vacation and that she would leave a note for them to contact me asap. 6 weeks went by, nothing. Screw them. I went to NUVIA in Roseville and got it done. Reading the reviews, I see this is a pattern for this dental practice. I came in as a new patient for a routine cleaning since I've just moved to the area. I was really excited to establish care here since it's close to me. I also was happy to have a lady doctor. My insurance is kicking in on February 1 so I wasn't open to any extra services quite yet. I just wanted to establish care, get a good exam and above all, a cleaning! I had made my insurance situation clear when I made the appointment and again with the assisting staff. Also, I didn't actually need more X-rays as I have them from my previous dentist, but they insisted. After all that, the dentist gave me a hard sell on 4 quadrant deep cleaning and a new crown (which I did need), but not on that day ... I didn't want to pay out of pocket given my insurance would be kicking in soon. My dentist was visibly upset that I didn't sign the expensive out-of-pocket treatment plan on the spot. She then spent maybe 5 minutes cleaning my teeth. Terrible vibe and a waste of time as I have to now schedule an actual cleaning somewhere else. What a disappointment. I think the dentists must have a sales quota. I will be reporting them to the BBB, the city and various licensing associations.

I was recommended by my parents - so its a family thing! I see Samantha for cleaning - I always wish I could just spend more time talking to her - she's so friendly and easy going. We all know it's impossible to have a meaningful conversation with your hygienist since your mouth is wide open the entire time -- but what I have learned about her, I like! Sam is efficient and thorough and gives excellent/intelligent advice. Dr. Mike is great. I really get the feeling that he cares about me - not just my mouth and teeth, but me! I have pretty good teeth so I haven't had to have a lot of procedures done - he's done a great job on the few things I did need (fillings). His assistant, Liz, is funny and nice too. The two of them have a really fun banter that is entertaining to observe from the chair. The ladies at the front desk are really friendly and efficient too. They are great at helping to navigate insurance policies! The office is conveniently located at University and Broadway in NE Minneapolis. There is always parking available in their dedicated lot, and despite it being at this busy intersection, it is easy to get in and out. This is perfect for those of us coming to and from downtown Minneapolis.

The reply was " I clean teeth, front desk takes care of that". I told her I already informed front desk, and letting her know, if additional services beside cleaning were needed ( I expected this to be a common knowledge). This was not a typical response i usually receive. Then my mouth was examined and I sensed a great agitation/urgency wave from the hygienist. I was told my gums state declined from last time and we need to do something and develop a plan. I am not sure if my history was reviewed prior to my arrival. I replied, I have been living with my mouth for a long time and cleaning every 3 months. Onto cleaning: I asked for a numbing jel prior to cleaning. I was put flat in a chair, no overhead light. When top gum was covered, I asked to stop/ complete lower gum later and raise my head, as gel leaks into a throat typically in horizontal position. There was no actual wait time between application of gel and measurements by a sharp ( loud measurements with front desk clerk involved in a process recording mm). Then there were pictures taken, at one point I heard: " I don't want to see this". The hygienist stated I need to be seen by a doctor, but the Dr was not in a clinic at the time of my appointment (verified by the same front desk clerk). The cleaning/rinsing with laser like plink started, but not enough water was given, so my mouth was dry. I asked why I was not rinsed periodically, to which reply was the water is already a part of cleaning plick. I was asked to close my mouth periodically with metal cleaning tip very close to my lips. I actually felt my lips brushing against some surface when I close my mouth almost every time. I asked hygienist to keep the metal piece farther. She stopped and stated: Let's see a doctor....but the doctor was not in. I never saw a doctor, even thru Hygienist sounded like it's urgent and my gums were actively bleeding. Instead, front desk clerk appeared and wanted to reschedule my appointment. I reported noticeable agitation from hygienist, felt very unwelcomed as a client, basically disrespected. I wondered, if hygienist wanted to actually clean my mouth, do her job. Hygienist disappeared, no doctor in site, my mouth dry and still having gel in. I stated I will be transitioning my cares away to another service Provider.

I had delayed going for more years than I wanted to admit. Since finding Boger, I am excited to say I don't need to be sedated, for anything. The office is clean and standard of dentists offices. There are tvs above each chair for distraction. The staff are all extremely friendly, which was one of the first things that attracted me. The kindness even when scheduling eased a lot of my PTSD. Today's the second cavity I had filled, the procedure went so smoothly. I was seated on time and out of the chair in 30 minutes. He clearly articulates the problems and makes sure to answer all of my questions. I don't feel like he is rushing to get in and out. And he doesn't lecture me beyond what is needed. And he explains why he is lecturing. I don't hate going to the dentist like some people do, and perhaps it is because I have had such good experiences at Chanhassen Dental. His staff is nothing but professional and kind. I am always able to get in when an urgent tooth situation arises. In the 10+ years I have been going here, the office is constantly being updated with the latest technology and is always clean and comfortable.
