I was nervous having not been to the dentist in a while (and the dentist always makes me nervous) but they made me feel very comfortable, put me at ease and took great care of my teeth! Sarah was my dental hygienist and was wonderful! She explained everything she was going to do, made me feel at ease with my nerves and made sure I had all my questions answered. Everyone was welcoming. There was no shaming or judgement for how long it had been since my last cleaning. The office was comfortable and inviting, the dental cleaning chairs were really comfortable, they even have a gentle massage feature. I am looking forward to my 6 month checkup/cleaning.

I had lost my family dentist due to an accident my prior Dr. suffered skiing several years ago. I then bounced around from dentist the dentist trying to find the right one. Unfortunately for over five years I was unable to find that right dentist until. I found Eagle Valley Dental and Dr. Javan. One consequence of not having a family dentist for that long was I need a lot of dental work. I can't remember the exact number of cavities I had after that first appointment. What I do remember is an amazing dentist who walked me through several treatments, multiple fillings, an extraction, two root canals and two crowns. I'm nothing but thrilled with the quality of care and repairs that were made to my teeth by Dr. Javan. She has helped restore my faith in medicine and helped me to better understand what a great doctor is supposed to be. I now have a family dentist for life.

Im a 35 year RN and something is very off with this guy. I decided to walk out of his chair when he said "Ill do a root canal but I dont know if its the right tooth" ummm what???? He also said that taking 800mg of advil was too much instead of recognizing that meant I was in significant pain ( along with 1gm of tylenol and 20mg of oxycodone) he was more concerned that my liver would go bad.( that is not gonna happen from a couple doses of advil buddy) He acted like I WANTED a root canal. The last time, I asked why he used temporary glue and was told in case he needed to go back in(?) I told him to put the permanent glue in, and it's been fine since. My implanted tooth is much shorter than the other, which is very noticeable, as it's one of my front teeth! Also, I have suspicions about how charges are applied. The Office Manager had already put in a charge for one of my visits, for approximately $300 but the Dentist was sitting at the computer adding the same charge and was told it was already applied. It just seemed odd to me that he has a manager to do the billings, yet feels the need to get in and add things? I do not recommend this office, for the reasons listed.

I had one scheduling mishap one of the times and they figure out a way to fix it, so I didn't have to wait for very long. They take multiple types of insurance, just depends on the actual dentist within the facility.

I actually didn't go to the dentist for a number of years when I was younger until I realized how important it was to take care of your teeth. So when I did make an appointment, this is a true story by the way, the hygienist who cleaned my teeth brought out a whole tray of instruments. For those of you that have seen Braveheart, that is what it looked like to me. Then she begins to file.......er sharpen her instruments while I'm laying there in the chair! First of all I'm thinking that this should have been done BEFORE I arrived. Second I had a severe feeling of a lamb there for the slaughter. Needless to say that was the last visit to that dentist. We ended up moving and now we have been seeing Dr. Dunlap for the past several years. I am here to say that this is by far and away the best experience I have ever had. I have the same hygienist (Christy) which is nice for familiarity. Christy has worked there for 15 years. There is music to listen to and its not elevator music. They even have TV's in their rooms. Woodbury Family Dentist are very accommodating as they schedule my wife and I at the same time so we can both go at the same time. Dr Dunlap has also been wonderful to work with. A couple of years ago I chipped a tooth. I called and made an appointment to have my tooth looked at. Dr Dunlap used one of those "tools" to smooth out the rough area. My appointment did not take too long and as I got up to go pay she stated that there would be no charge! I was floored by this as I would expect to pay for any service regardless of time. This to me was a great example of how Dr Dunlap and her staff care for their patients. I still don't look forward to going to the dentist however if I am going to go to any dentist, its Dr Dunlap and her staff. I can't tell you how nice it is to have a quality medical professional of any practice to see. I am thankful that we can see Dr Dunlap.
