The staff is friendly and the doctors are attentive and really listen. I never had a doctor like this before.

I had a very disappointing experience at CareNow Urgent Care in Jarrell, Texas today…read more Earlier in the day, I believed I had something foreign body in my ear, so I went to CareNow because I wanted to be evaluated and make sure there wasn't a serious problem. When I walked in, there were several ladies behind the front desk. The first questions I was asked were whether I had insurance and whether I had been there before. I explained that I had been there previously, but I was told the facility had changed ownership and was given a link to complete the registration process. I completed the paperwork, and while I was waiting, other patients came in. A Caucasian woman came in with her child, and a Black gentleman came in with what appeared to be a hand and foot injury. The child was taken to the back fairly quickly. The gentleman and I remained in the waiting room. After sitting there for some time, I became increasingly anxious because I didn't know what was going on with my ear. I went back to the front desk to ask whether I was actually going to be seen. As I approached the counter, the receptionist walked away briefly and then returned and asked me whether I had completed the paperwork. I took a deep breath and told her that I had. She then began questioning me about my insurance. I explained that I had insurance. It took several minutes while I stood there before she told me she had only found one insurance plan. I told her I actually had two. At that point, a nurse practitioner came over and began questioning me again. By then, I was frustrated and overwhelmed. I took a deep breath and told them that I was going to leave, write a review about my experience, and go to the emergency room instead. And that is exactly what I did. I went to the Temple emergency room, where I was treated exceptionally well. They got me in, evaluated me, and took care of the issue in a timely manner. I left feeling like someone actually cared that I was there and needed medical attention. I want to be careful about making accusations that I cannot prove, but I also cannot ignore what I personally witnessed and how I felt I was treated. I was the only person in the waiting room when I arrived. Later, a Caucasian woman arrived with her child, and a Black gentleman arrived with an apparent injury. The child was taken to the back while the gentleman and I continued waiting. That experience left me questioning whether everyone was being treated equally. I also left with the impression that the front office interaction was more focused on insurance and getting the paperwork handled than on making sure a patient who was concerned about a medical issue was actually seen. Healthcare should be about caring for people. When someone walks into a medical facility worried about what is happening with their body, they should not have to stand at the front desk repeatedly asking whether they are going to be seen. If this is how patients are being treated, especially patients with urgent concerns, I would encourage people to think carefully before choosing this facility. If your condition is urgent, you may be better served going directly to a larger medical facility where you can be evaluated without feeling like you are being overlooked. I hope the management of this CareNow location takes this review seriously and looks into how patients are being checked in, prioritized, and treated. No one should leave a medical facility feeling that their health concern was less important than their insurance information.

First time coming here!…read more When I called the office, Allen, helped me with all the answers I had and we walked into this office right after that. It's nice that this is a walk in based service! My wife had a bit of sick feeling so we came here. The process of registering was fairly simple and easy and the friendly MA, Renee directed us to the exam room and did the necessary check up and the provider Mr. Houng NP saw my wife and gave us good care management plan and advice! We had a good visit and will be back again when we get sick! Keep up with the good service and heal the community! Cheers

Similar to other comments below, the billing structure for doctors, clinics, hospitals is confusing…read moreand leads to problems with the payers and confusion with patients. Additionally, had the same situation where the contract between BSW and payer ended and we were not notified. Payer blamed the clinic and clinic is blaming the payer. BSW reps keep insisting "it's not our responsibility." That could be true, but being stuck in the middle of these things does no one any good. We dropped the payer/coverage firm and will now drop BSW. Other providers seem to be able to know if you are in-network and have appropriate coverage when you register at desk, BSW did not. UPDATE BSW has escalated the situation. We are very appreciative for their taking our concern seriously and resolving the matter. Providers take the position that payer firms that fail to cover (for whatever reason) leads to patient responsibility. I can't disagree with that, but mistakes happen and well meaning patients get stuck in situations that are confusing or otherwise contentious. Patients should not get stuck with the bill. With any other product or service, we know the amount we will owe before we accept the service. Medical care and coverage needs to change so there is no misunderstanding as to out of pocket expense at the time of service.

Extremely disappointed with the service here. I scheduled a 1:00 PM appointment for a dog bite, but…read moreafter waiting an hour, I was told they only had one doctor on staff and couldn't even give me a firm estimate. The intake lady eventually told me I wouldn't be seen until at least 3:00 PM--two full hours past my appointment time. I had a college commitment at ACC at 3:00 PM that I almost missed because of this. Don't bother making an appointment; they don't seem to honor I pushed for a timeline, the front desk lady admitted they couldn't see me until 3:00 PM. An 'appointment' shouldn't mean a two-hour wait. I ended up having to scramble to make my 3:00 PM online college appointment. Very poor management of patient flow and expectations.
