Mulch on sale, half price. No sales people available. No help available. The guy at the checkout was doing his best but no one was coming to load the mulch after 30 minutes of calling for someone. The only highlight was Matthew and Joshua who ultimately ended up loading the mulch they came from another area of the store after I asked for the manager hearing them say have a blessed day as I drove off made my day feel more blessed. We purchased laminate flooring for our kitchen, bathroom and basement stairway on September 8, 2025. We paid over $5,000 for it and have nothing but regrets now. They arrived on October 20 and installed it on top of the old flooring. Because the floor was now higher, two doors needed to have their bottoms shaved in order to operate properly. The crew chief told us they don't normally shave doors but he would come back and do it for us. He did come back and did one door {poorly} but said he needed a better tool in order to do other one properly. In spite of promises, he never came back. The sales clerk who originally wrote up the job never asked about mouldings and trim. She ordered different colors than the floor we bought. The crew doing the installing never questioned why they were installing mismatched accessories against the "Glenwood Oak" floor or white trim against our Almond walls. We had to go back to Lowe's and buy the correct Glenwood Oak trim (for$65) and paid the crew chief another $200 to install it. While the crew said they could remove the toilet and then re-install it, they could only remove the pedestal sink. They would not be able to re-install it. We ended up paying a plumber $220 to re-install that sink. The crew chief also told us he would redo the caulking where he had used white, as it stands out like a sore thumb against our Glenwood Oak and almond colored kitchen. Of course he didn't show up and never called. I suggest anyone looking for new flooring to go to a specialty store and avoid the likes of Lowe's where the sales staff know next to nothing about what they are doing and hire out shoddy sub-contractors. read more

Lowes Installation Contractor installed a new front door & blew my circuit breakers when trying to hook up his special saw. He had to reset the circuit breakers but didn't reset the room my chest freezer was in. My organic meats and organic home grown harvested veggies were rotted when I got back home with guests. We were out of town for 8 days. (late Oct). I filed a claim for the loss, with photos of my garden veggies, and receipts of meat purchases. They only offered $100 and I declined it. Their reason was insulting/insinuating and the amount inadequate. I'm a senior citizen, live alone, and take great care and much effort for my gardening, freezing and preserving for myself and others. I have been going to this Lowe's for years since it is very close to my house. I know everyone has those complaints about how you can never find anyone to help you in the hardware stores and that is usually the case here as well. More times than not it hits a new high though. I have been doing a remodeling job in my kitchen and since it is so difficult to find things in stock I buy them as I see them. I had done this with a faucet, I purchased but didn't have it installed right away. By time I was able to have it installed I decided I didn't like it. Had it taken out and packaged back up. I went to return it and they told me I couldn't return it because it was over 90 days (3 days over) and the manager told them they had to start cracking down on returns. I asked to speak to manager and the woman got rude and told me she was the manager ( just head cashier) asked her to get someone else and she quickly grabbed another woman who of course then told me I couldn't return because I had installed it. I asked which it was because it was 90 days or because it was installed??! I was so frustrated I doubt she was a manager (they never get one that quick). They don't have a return policy on the receipt you have to look online! I now go regularly to Home Depot although it's out of my way but I still had a lot of my project left and did not want to spend one more dime at Lowe's. If they only knew how much money they are losing by not returning or replacing a $100 faucet!! Amazing how employees can ruin a business. It's so hit and miss with the employees here. I asked one about a specific item, he said he didn't know and he'll find someone and then just vanished. Never heard anyone getting paged just poof like a fart in the wind. After waiting for 10 minutes I eventually found what I needed without assistance. I asked one about a specific lumber size and if it was treated he said they don't have any. Turns out he was standing in front of the rack full of them. On the other hand, I've had them walk from their department to another to show me what I was looking for. I just did a 4 month full house renovation. I usually shop at menards for many reasons that I won't go into. When I returned extra items from the reno, I had 3 items left over. I thought they might be Lowe's so when I passed this store today by chance, I tried to return them. "These are over 30 days...you just made them trash now." I asked her to explain what she meant. She said that they had been purchased over 90 days ago and I couldn't return them without a receipt. I still don't understand why she said they were trash. I understand that I didn't have the receipt on me, but if they are on my credit card and they still stock that item, what does it matter? Was told by the woman at the front desk who had been there for 16 years that she thinks perhaps it's because I have an iPhone and it doesn't load Java or something like that yeah definitely probably that. Where to start. Of course we don't expect quick service during a pandemic. BUT, I do expect honest and Cordial service. Almost 3 weeks ago we placed an order for delivery. We were told after the first week that it would be delayed until the following week. No problem. They call and say it's on its way between 8am and 8 pm. Then they call and say they don't have what we ordered. It will be next week. So mid week my wife calls to make sure they have it. Katie says yes it's right here ready to go. Will be delivered Friday. Guess what? Order not ready! Amy, the manager is a snot. She flys off the handle about what did you expect? This is a pandemic! We were lied to and treated like dirt. We will never use Lowe's ever again. Home Depot was very happy to help us out. We purchased a Whirlpool gas dryer from Lowes on Aug 9th for $1100. We were charged for a new gas hose and a hook up fee. The first team came and delivered the dryer but said they didn't have the parts to connect the vent and that we could use our old existing gas line which they attached to the new dryer. Next day we went back to the store and showed a picture of how things were left. The salesman said the way they tried to connect the vent was incorrect and gave me a small elbow pipe and 2 clamps and told us to call "the warehouse" and have them come back out. I called and asked that an experienced person be sent out. I was told they only have delivery people, not installers. Both this dispatcher and the salesman said the old gas connection couldn't be used or it would void the warranty. Next day the 2nd team arrived. They ignored the elbow given to us by the salesman and tried to install a vent hose, told us that they didn't have the right parts and we could use the existing gas connection. In about 5 minutes I was able to connect the elbow given to me at the store to connect to the dryer vent so this 2nd team had no training either. We called the store and was told they get a lot of complaints about deliver versus install but since we paid for the gas hook up they should do it and I needed to call the warehouse again. I called the warehouse again and after a 15 minute hold, gave them my story, heard again that they just have delivery men, not installers but would send out an experienced man this time. Now it's the 14th. We get a call at 1:25 saying they would be here in 30 minutes. At 2:15 we get another call saying they would be here in 30 minutes. At 3:15 they pull up. I tell them we just need the gas hook up. The experienced man struggled to undo the gas connection to the dryer that the 1st team had put in. Then we said that the line from the gas main to the hose connection was wobbly and they couldn't touch it. The hose was removed incorrectly, and the gas valve which was off was switched to on, and the hose left unconnected to the dryer. We had a reliable plumber come in and he fixed the vent and gas line in about 15 minutes for $190. If Lowes doesn't provide training or hire experienced installers someone will get killed by their gas dryer from Lowes. read more

Title: Unprofessional Service and Misinformation Leading to Overcharging Review: I recently had a deeply disappointing experience at Lowe's in Westland, MI on Newburgh Rd. What was supposed to be a straightforward transaction turned into a frustrating ordeal due to misinformation, overcharging, and unprofessional behavior from the sales representative. From the beginning, I was very upfront that if this project was going to take all summer, that I would do it myself to which I was told it would not but that it would definitely be a few weeks. Well now its almost the ned of summer and I'm still waiting on items and installation. provided with an inaccurate product description. This misinformation not only led to confusion but also resulted in me being overcharged. I spoke with the company who installed the countertops and they assured me that the product was not heat resistant and that "a fire could NOT be built on the tops" as she has stated and that she purposely charged higher to insure any fluctuations would be covered, after finding out from the installers again the countertops were not as sold I requested a breakdown of the costs with the installation company, only to be met with my concerns being dismissed with a lack of interest and a clear unwillingness to rectify the situation. Adding to the frustration was the unprofessional behavior of the sales representative. Despite claiming to be a professional, the representative failed to include the cost of installation in the initial quote (she claims) even though when she asked me if "I was ready to move forward?", I said, "Yes, because the longer I wait the longer it takes, and this includes everything, yes?" To which she replied "Yes". She now tries to justify this omission by stating she didn't have the measurements, which was untrue. To order cabinets you have to have measurements. The installer of the cabinets easily gave me a quote from the information he had given to Lowes from his measurements! This lack of transparency and honesty further complicated the situation and contributed to my belief of being way overcharged. All of which I have perfect proof of in emails and conversations under The Michigan Compiled Law (MCL) code that supports one-party consent to record a conversation in Michigan is MCL 750.539c. This law allows a participant in a conversation to legally record the conversation without the knowledge or consent of the other participants. This has been the law in Michigan for some time and has been affirmed by the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Moreover, the representative's demeanor was far from professional. I like to have fun, but what I don't agree with is being told that "You didn't listen to anything I said" After spending 20k of my hard-earned money I'll ask for clarification every day If I want to! or "My boss credited you 150.00 for the vanity you only paid 339.00 for" (A credit I still haven't seen on my statement) which I was told when the products show up they'd be looked over to insure nothing was broken or wrong, which it was but not reported.... I'm still waiting on replacement parts for a project I was told would be done by summer and its now the END of summer in less than 2 weeks. Her comments and attitude are rude and dismissive, adding insult to injury for a project I had initially budgeted for 20k and paid upfront to now coming in closer to 30k, along with having to have done some of the work myself THAT I PAID FOR to be done. This level of service is unacceptable and far from the standards, one would expect from a reputed company like Lowe's. I am now left trying to determine how much I should expect to be refunded due to the misinformation and overcharging. This has created unnecessary stress and inconvenience, detracting from what should have been a simple and efficient process. I sincerely hope Lowe's takes this feedback into account and implements the necessary changes to improve their customer service. My wife and I received a new ceiling fan from some family for Christmas. The day after Christmas was our "holiday garbage day" so we got everything unpacked, and properly disposed of. We go to install the new ceiling fan, and it is missing the remote control. Naturally, I have the fan hardwired. So the only way to turn it on or off is with the controller. I called the store and spoke with a manager by the name of, Hunter. I explained what happened, and he didn't even blink. He told me to come on up and he would take care of me. About 3 weeks ago I was shopping for Christmas decorations in Lowe's. While there admiring the beautiful Christmas displays, I had laid my cell phone down on one of the shelves. The moment I noticed it was not in my pocket or shopping cart, I panicked. I looked around for it myself first, but after not coming across it I asked employees and some other customers to assist me. There were a number of staff who jumped right in and began to help me look for it. We called my "muted" cell, looked between every shelf I recalled passing and even asked Customer Service staff if anyone had been turned it in. This search went on for a total of approximately 20-25 minutes. Shortly after, an employee referred to as "Moe" found it and took it to the CS desk. There were a few staff that assisted as I mentioned earlier that I can't recall their names. To many this may be a small gesture but to me it was a big one. My husband died three years ago suddenly and the last Christmas decoration he bought for our home was from this Lowe's store. So I've been back each year since. Just got back from buying a new refrigerator and Andrew was a big help and very polite and informative. Never pushy. He listened to what we had to say and gave us plenty of suggestions and showed us numerous models. Deal was done in less than 20 minutes. Had an oct 21st install. They didn't have enough brackets ordered because Lowes Estimator didn't include a support beam in estimate. Had to order. Installer said they ordered that day. Called for weeks until Nov 11th Lowes said brackets weren't ordered yet. Arrived on Nov 15th and then was told installer was out of town "for a few weeks" Emailed installer Dec 8th and they said they will be back in next week and can give an idea of when they can finish job. Emailed them again Dec 19th and still haven't heard anything. Called store and they keep telling me to call installation team. Installation team said they escalated it finally and I would hear back from regional manager this week. Still no call back. Getting the run around from lowes. When I called to complain my order was not ready a girl told me another girl simply canceled my order without telling me. She refused to tell me which girl canceled my order after Anthony, a manager, told her not to give out the employee name to me. When I asked which manager gave her the order she simply disappeared from the phone until a guy took over the call unexpectedly. He didn't say why he was taking over the call or who he was until I pressed him to tell me he was Anthony and he was a manager. I told him it was unethical to cancel an order without notifying the customer. I waited 6 days to do my project because they lacked the integrity to tell me they canceled my order without notice. Anthony simply could not understand this is an integrity issue until I became assertive with him. He thought offering me a 10% discount on a different product was the solution for unethical business practices. I purchased a washer and (Gas) dryer set on March 14, 2018. They were delivered a week later. The delivery team refused to install the gas dryer because I had copper gas line leading to the dryer. I sent back the gas dryer and reordered an electric one. The delivery was set for One week later. I waited all day and no call no show. I rescheduled for the following week. Again, no call no show. I was a Lowe's loyal customer since 2001 when I crash landed out this way around early 2001, passing Home Depot on Ford Road along the way. After a recent rain/wind storm i had a few thousand pounds of ripped apart trees and massive branches to cut up and clear out of my front and back yard. I went looking for an electric chainsaw.....walked around for what seemed like forever, the AC at Lowe's was not relieving anyone from the 95 degree humid conditions. At that time, after an hour of wandering around while this guy seemed like he didn't want to help. this certain Afro American male would point me to row 25(??) after asking him twice but seemed to cop an attitude after he finally showed me what i was looking for. Mind you, I have chronic A-fib and the heat and humidity waiting started to make me disorientated and like i was about to black out. After this a-hole finally assisted me, I asked about a propane torch. He walked fast towards some woman in the 'hardware' department, and mumbled something to this woman who then gave me an attitude, and had to ask several people in that department to show me what I was looking for. I recently purchased a dishwasher from Lowe's. It was not in stock so it was ordered and they said somebody would call when it made it to the store to set up a delivery and installation time . It took 1 week to get the call to set up a time , which was a voice recording saying Tuesday November 6 is available. I took it and made arrangements for someone to be here on that day. I get a call the night before from their installation tech who says he will be over between 4-8 pm. It's late but I'll take it since I been waiting two weeks now . A call at 730 is asking do I still want it? Purchased a Craftsman 30 Inch riding lawn mower from the Westland location. Picked a delivery day time and the got notified the day before that the delivery time was changed (8:00 -12:00 to 9:30-1:30). No biggy. We received a text at 1:00 telling us that it would be delivered in 30 mins. 30 mins came and went, 1 hour came and went and we texted back, no answer. 2 hours came and went, nothing. I started making phone calls. After finally getting through (4:00) I was told that the unit they were sending was defective and never made it on the truck, yet we received a text saying it was being delivered in a half hour? I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he led me through the store, cutting wood, picking screws, picking lumber, explained to me exactly what I needed to do when I got home, and what order to do it in.... I can't begin to say what a help he was! Huge help! If I had to order the item online with shipping, and wait two weeks for delivery, I would have easily spent more than triple what I did at Lowes.
