They do everything from keys (including "digital chip" key clones) to vast amounts of nuts and bolts, SAE and metric, tools, supplies, home/industrial hardware. They are not Grainger or Lee's. They are not Lowes or Menards. Their prices are sometimes high, but they don't sell cheap gear. I wished they'd sell lumber and plants, but maybe it's better that they don't. They get five stars for being the best HARDWARE store in the area. You don't have to buy a huge blister pack to get just one or two of an item. Their clerks know what they have, and it's a good idea to ask them. They sometimes have better alternatives in mind, and their selection is vast for the size store they operate; they can save you a lot of time, unlike the big box stores, where there are no real specialists except the Big Item sales people. Where it was gruesome, people are helpful, there's enough staff, their prices are average to insane-- which is normal these days. I don't mind going there. Kliendorfer's is still the best for hardware-- unbeatable. But for a lot of items in the home improvement and gardening areas, Lowes has become useful. I do not go to Menards. No way. Too much shoddy products in the lumber yard.

Their stores have been rearranged lately but I am learning the layout and the staff has been helpful asking me if I need help finding something before I have to ask on multiple visits. I have always liked that about Lowe's. Lowe's does a good job keeping their stores clean and items out of the aisles so you can navigate with the large carts. I also love the Minute Key Kiosks! They are automated key copying machines and I have never had one fail on me so far after having a lot of keys copied.

Because I live over an hour away from Terre Haute, I didn't have any reason to stop in the building…read moreto make a purchase. But while driving by on 9th Street, I couldn't help but notice this memorial mural on the south side of the building. I noticed the signature on the mural and reached out to the artist, Michael Neary. I realized Neary had a number of murals in the Terre Haute area, including the sports mural across the street from the Industrial Supply at Ballyhoo Tavern. After communicating with Neary, I found out that the mural was in celebration of the 100th year of operation of Industrial Supply in 2015. What I heard from the artist was that he met with the owners and wanted to do something that would celebrate not only the long standing service of the Company, but celebrate the people who worked with the Company and who used the products. The mural shows a number of tradesmen and tools including a pipefitter, a laborer with an axe, a drill press or router, drill bit, saw blades, welder, and an airplane. Quite a diverse number of clients being served by one company. I applaud the Company that supports local artists while preserving and celebrating their own history. I wish them continued success. I didn't know it was there previously. Ace Hardware used to be my favorite store but RK has replaced them, primarily because in addition to selling most of what Ace has, RK has clothes, shoes, trailers, trailer hitches, cat food, chickens and a candy aisle. Plus they have a limited selection of guns and ammunition. Although I have never bought a gun from RK, I regularly buy ammunition from them because it is reasonably priced and available. I live rurally and this store fits my needs so much more. Even though their high end shirts (Ariat) were priced a full ten dollars more than the Martinsville and Greenwood locations, I found three Lincoln short sleeve shirts for $22 each. A helpful employee helped me sort out what LR and LT means for Lincoln clothing. These labels are on the hangers as well as the shirts themselves. Three cashier lanes were open plus Customer Service was handling a line of their own. There were about four customers in each line but they seemed to be moving okay. Regardless, RK opened up another lane while I was next to pay in my line. Good customer service here.

Their selection is AMAZING! They have a ton of brands, and the prices are pretty good. They seem to have changed the dog treat selection, and I can no longer find my dogs favorite treat. The toys they offer are ok. From what I can tell, they don't offer any rawhide treats, only alternatives. If you ever try one, look at the list of ingredients. Sometimes there is stuff in there I just don't think a dog needs in their body. And one caveat, this review is primarily based on things I shop for. Some departments seemed like an afterthought. They have a big but expensive clothing section, and a nice selection of snacks. The bagged candy is a really good deal. I highly recommend the chocolate covered raisins! They have unique and hard to find items like jewelweed soap or balm for poison ivy and Lava soap. They always have something new in their seasonal area, and during the spring and summer have very cool things. The cat supply area is also very well stocked, and they have a nice selection of cat trees. I used to get a pretty simple one my cats always enjoyed. Overall, it's close to one stop shopping if you don't need food. I don't go there a lot, but I know I can count on them for what I want when I go.
