Drove over an hour to pick up some specific generators to solve a last minute problem for our business. Spent over 10k between 2 orders and processed everything online so the order would be ready to go when I got to Lowe's. Quick in and out for them and me. Unfortunately I arrived about 5 minutes after close, because their hours online say they close at 10pm, but apparently they close at 9pm. This is on me for not calling, but my order is also right there at the front door. The first employee wouldn't even talk to me to hear out my situation. Finally another employee comes over and also refused to make any consideration for our situation. The order was already paid for, and ready up front. They refused to make any consideration to let me leave with the order. Our business spends thousands here throughout the year, and I think I've learned my lesson that these workers simply do not care about any of their customers regardless of how much business they bring Lowe's. I love most Lowe's Home Improvement stores, however, the service and selection at this location could use some improvement of its own. This store is consistently out of stock on normal everyday items. I realize that many stores are having trouble stocking their shelves now that most people are stuck at home, but the issues at this store came long before lockdown. Service is mediocre, at best. Employees stand around huddled together trying to avoid eye contact with customers. It's a shame because this town really needs good everyday retail stores. I will still come here, or not... As Lowe's go, this is one of the more organized stores I've been in. They have a good selection, but I've been in their doors a couple times now and the service is inconsistent. Fortunately, that wasn't the case on my most recent visit to the lighting department For the most part, the stores (Lowe's and Home Depot) are almost identical. Same stock, same layouts, same brands and same pricing. My recent visit had me looking for a new light fixture after I inadvertently smashed my mother-in-law's while trying to move a mattress (that's a whole story in itself). It was earlier in the morning, which I think helps in terms of finding employees to help you, and a cool gentleman in lighting guided me to exactly where I needed to go. Quick and smooth service is always the goal, and I was out of the store within five minutes with what I needed. It's also worth noting that the service was good in the sense that he knew what I needed and I didn't have to make a return trip to actually get the right item. At least when it comes to lighting, they provided me with a great experience. read more

Came in today in the search for some flowers and plants for my garden on both October 29 & 30th. They had a good selection which made it a little difficult to look for specific plants I was looking for because there was so many. When I asked for help I was told by an employee that I should just come back on Wednesday and ask to speak to their plant specialist because he had no idea if they sold and had in stock "creeping jenny". That was disappointing to hear you would expect all employees to have some pant knowledge or attempt to find an answer. I visited the store again on Friday November 2 and found out that two items I had selected were mispriced on the shelf which was disappointing and misleading. read more

I get more of a girly feeling here, which I like..so it's like a girl Home improvement store. The return policy is awesome, except for some flowers. I always use Lowe's for my building and making essential. I love that they have smaller sized sheets of wood! Comes in handy when you don't have a truck to move the wood. Today 4/2, we called the store to ask if there was an associate available in the store to sell us a utility trailer because extra paperwork has to be done with the DMV. We called specifically to ask because we were driving from 1 1/2 hours away. The person said she would ask the manager. We were told we could come in and purchase and take the paperwork to the DMV ourself. We make the drive and after having to wait were told that no they don't have anyone to sell it to us. What made it worse aside from having drove that far was that the manager who gave out the wrong information sent out a Head Cashier to tell us instead of coming out themselves. Horrible horrible customer service. This was actually the third store we have tried to buy a trailer from and they never have staff who can do it or the system is down. That is why we specifically called ahead and asked so we wouldn't waste our time. read more

Absolutely terrible. The people in the store have been cooperative, the delivery provider they use is perhaps the worst I've ever experienced. Bought the refrigerator on Monday and was supposed to be delivered on Wednesday. They couldn't follow any directions on Wednesday and decided to just give up and bring it to us the morning of the next day. Not only did they not come in the morning, but we weren't even on the schedule. We had to go into the store and get it settled. Then, after we went into to store on Thursday, it was supposed to be delivered on Friday. However, you'll never guess what happened. At 7:30 pm we called, because it's not here yet and we find out they LIED and said there was no resident at home. They didn't even call to figure out if it was the right place. We haven't been able to buy food or leave the house for three days now because we don't have a fridge and need to be here for the delivery. Just going to go in on Saturday and bring it home ourselves, this is ridiculous. Never again. read more

Lowes is your standard big box home improvement retail store which manages to raise the standard with superior customer service. I had visited my local Lowes, as well as my local Home Depot searching for a dog door to allow my small dog to go in and out of the house all day long when I am gone I couldn't find the right size door at either of them, and when I asked someone at the Home Depot, they told me that what they had out on display was everything it was possible to get. I was in Tulare for the day and decided to try the Lowes out on a whim to see if they had any other sizes or brands in stock. A friendly and helpful employee walked me all the way back to the dog doors and helped me see what my options were. He got a book out and told me about the other options that he could order for me. We ended up finding something in stock that would work for me, so I went ahead and purchased it here and took it home to Bakersfield. It turned out to be the perfect thing for me and my dog and we are both much happier now. Lowes carries everything the average homeowner might need for projects around the house: plants, gardening supplies, lighting, batteries, closet organizers, paint, wallpaper, cabinets and fixtures, hardware, sprinklers, and more. It also carries things a contractor might need such as plumbing supplies/pipes, lumber, bricks, tile, drywall... You name it, if it goes somewhere or fixes something in your house you can probably find another one here. read more

I recently purchased a large number of bulk items and was a bit disappointed with customer service. While the clerks inside were friendly and accommodating, nobody really went out of their way to truly help me on the product side. My first most recent visit was to purchase 20 bags of 2 c/f each of mulch. When I parked in front of the pallets, there were two 'associates' helping a man load his purchase onto a pickup. By the time I made my purchase inside and returned to my vehicle to load, there were no associates in site - despite my making a comment that I would be back for my purchase. Instead, another customer kindly offered to help me load my bags and I helped him load his. Two days later, I returned to purchase 15 more bags of mulch. As I was loading my vehicle, a young associate was standing nearby talking on the phone. He glanced over once or twice but made no effort to end the call to assist me. To be fair, he may have been on break which I understand can be tricky to recoup working for such organizations. But still... Instead, after a few minutes he moved out of my line of vision but I could still hear his voice. I'm usually a Home Depot shopper because they carry essentially the same products for [sometimes considerably] less, even if I have to order the product/s. They are pretty helpful and friendly even if they are not always particularly knowledgeable. The older workers are definitely the associates to go to because they are both knowledgeable and experienced. At Lowe's, there seems to be more knowledge but I have found the customer service lacking of late. I do recommend this Lowe's location as the product line/s and quantity are impressive. If you need customer service, however, stay on whomever you address to follow through, otherwise they talk back and forth to each other but not really move. The exception is Brian in garden - he's The Bomb! Experienced, knowledgeable and will walk you to and through your purchase. read more

I dont have an issue with the store itself but I bought double glass doors for my front door and it's been a nightmare. They broke the contract and went extremely passed the deadline then tried to blame it on covid when covid isn't even shutting down work anymore. The real issue was incompetent employees. The salesman sold me doors and didn't think to sell me a door handle, I didn't ask about the handle because I assumed it came with the door. Anyway door comes 8 months after job is suppose to be done with no handle and they try to make me pay for handle after already breaching contract. So the doors were stored in my garage for months while waiting for the handles. The installers even commented on how the salesman causes a lot of issues for them. Handles finally come and the installers butcher the trim then say it was wrong size and they have no touch up paint for it. So I must wait another 3 months for trims and touch up paint. Btw the installers have a very low satisfaction rating like 1star. Finally they say the trims and touch ups are available and I have a repair date scheduled for today, well I get a call that the trims are supposed to have 3 pieces of course because it's a door frame but they only have 1. These idiots don't verify anything before calling the customer. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMENDTHEM FOR ANY CONTRACT WORK. Save the headache and go to actual floor/ door/ window people. Tried to buy new paint brushes (more than $30 worth) this morning , asked for a paint stirring stick and was told I could have one only if I bought paint. Nice Lowe's, almost as good as the time you took a non refundable deposit for a door that your contractor incorrectly measured and didn't get the job done. All I can say is FUCK LOWE'S!!!! read more

I will never shop here again due to poor customer service from management, not employees. My boyfriend and I brought in a grinder to exchange, who were told by the nice woman in customer service named Rachel to grab the correct item we needed and come back. After grabbing what we needed, we were told by Adrian, sales dept. manager, that he couldn't do anything without proof of purchase. I explained that the item was a gift and we didn't have the receipt, and the person who gave us the gift was somewhere with poor reception. Once again I was told that they couldn't do anything. I've worked in retail management (big box and small) for 15 years, and am also a business owner so I know this isn't the case. I looked up Lowes return policy online and showed it to Adrian. It clearly states that it an item does not have a receipt that that may return it for whatever price it scans for. He said the that the key word is "may" and it's up to his discretion. Long story short, he refused to help us without a receipt. I had to get ahold of the gifter, have them find he receipt and send me a picture. When they sent the receipt, because the gifter used a debit card, we decided to take the cash, not buy any of items we had originally intended, and go to Home Depot. I understand that store managers have to be cautious, especially this time of year, theft is a big problem. However, it's not uncommon for customers to come in without a receipt around Christmastime trying to do exchanges. Honor your return policy or you "may" lose more customers. read more

DO NOT HIRE for installation services. Contracted with Lowe's to install front storm door. Couldn't get it installed within 20 days like contract stated. Never heard anything from Lowe's. Filed complaint with State Contractor's Licensing Board. They refunded my credit card with no notice. Still haven't got door installed. read more

Horrible place and every time I come here I am reminded why I am Team Home Depot. Ordered a dryer online with my Christmas Gift Cards to pick up in store. 3 were available. Received a phone call that all three were damaged and they would cancel my order. Never received an email stating this so I went into the store. They said I can't order another one for two weeks because that's how long it takes for the gift cards to work. Gave them one star because they were able to turn it into an order again and credit a store merchandise card. However, they would not order me another dryer because stock still said they had some. So instead of updating their stock, I now have to drive to Bakersfield to get my dryer. Back to Team Home Depot. read more

We got in line for the order pick up and nobody would even acknowledge us or the gentleman standing in front of us in line. He was not only able to answer all on my questions on care, but he also helped me find everything I was looking for and had countless helpful suggestions. I have never met a more jubilant and polite person in customer service before. Grade A for sure!! The entire section was also very clean, organized and easy to find everything I needed. I walked in tonight and a gentleman named Johnny assisted me. We were looking to borrow a price of pipe to straighten out a foot peg for a motorcycle that had accidentally been bent. Johnny was all too ready to help us and pulled out a pipe and carried it to the motorcycle and assist us and stood by while we straightened out the foot peg. Since there was no damage to the pipe Johnny was more than happy to take it back and not charge us at all and even thanked us. Great experience!!! P.S. I should mention that I asked for help from another gentleman that was sitting in the back corner of the hardware section. I thought he could help me because he had a pretty big beard and I was like KMan your beard and my beard can be friends. But he was super Duper lazy and a giant piece of crap. I hope he readsthis review so that he can know that he not only didn't help me but he was super Duper lazy and I think he's a giant piece of crap. Such a nice store in Tulare. It's really nice when you need help and the sales person can actually help you find what you're looking for. They have a good selection of merchandise. Nice that the people are always friendly. Very clean store. read more
