Each time I've shopped at Lowe's in Shallotte I've had a positive experience. The store is clean, well-organized, and filled with practically all your home improvement needs. The garden center is quite nice, and I recently scored some late season clearance mums for a $1 each. They'll last long enough to give my front entrance some color, and then I'll plant them in the backyard. Lowe's also carries large, 2-gallon watering cans for only $6. (Could not find any at Home Depot.) Recently, my husband and I were in the market to replace our 20-year old electric range. We shopped the Thanksgiving Day sales just about everywhere in town and online, and we found the best deals at Lowe's. Others must have figured that out as well, as the Lowe's appliance section was filled with buying customers on the Tuesday after the holiday. Ordered a zero turn lawn mower and was told that it would take 3 days to assemble. After I was told it was ready for pick up I rented a trailer to pick it up, waited for 1/2 hour before they sent it to the front and they pushed it on to the trailer. The owners manual was soaked by the rain and crumbled up into a ball, the spark plug was broken in half, the 12-V battery had only 2-volts and the tires had 4-psi (almost flat). We have been seeing this same mower sitting outside the front of Lowe's for days until I went to pick up my mower, was told that they sent that back to the warehouse, I believe that they took took it around back and gave me the same one, why would they lie to me instead of being honest, now I will never be able trust Lowes. read more

Hello people I am writing this review so people know about my story so you can decide if you want to risk ordering online or receiving help from your local Shallotte store. These two entities do not work together. I ordered $ 1700 cabinets and countertops and dishwasher. It was supposed to be 2 deliveries appliance first then the rest in a week. Those deliveries were made but the second shorted me 1/2 the counter and missing cabinet. Lowes online fulfilled it from a store over 1 hour away. They did not have the cabinet so they did not make arrangements to deliver them. Online said they can get them to me in 10 days. I now have a kitchen 1/2 done and no delivery. My local Lowes has them and told me come by them buy them that's all they're doing. I ordered them because they are big and 10 ft long. I do not have a truck that is why ordered. My credit card has been charged like between 1700 and 3 grand more confusion to figure out. Most people understand the level of service at these stores is real low but the intentional runaround system is a trap be careful ordering anything . Matt in Pro services had over a week to get an order out to me. They tried to change it 3 times before the delivery date I had expressed I needed! Day of they changed the time 4 times. I have NEVER experienced this with the Mew center commons location , monkey junction, or Portis Neck location. I get I'm a small fish I only spend about 10,000.00 a week at Lowe's but I've been a local business for 35 years!!! Matt you couldn't even get the order into the computer on Friday!!! I CALLED you last Monday and you said it would be here first thing the next Monday. Well I've had my crew here and paid them for today and still no order!!!!! I will DO EVERYTHING ICAN to have people not use YOU or your store!!!!!!! I'll continue to pay triple to have New center store deliveries here in Holden beach! I purchased a Craftsman tool on 2/26/25, but it was the wrong tool. I sent my BF into the store to make an exchange as the correct tool was also a Craftsman tool for the exact same price on 2/28/25 with receipt (POP). He called me moments later to ask me to come inside as they needed to see that I had the exact method of payment to proceed. I totally understand the world is full of shady people doing illegal things, but my boyfriend is an extremely loyal customer and know many Contractors he deals with that frequent Lowe's for both business and personal shopping. When I went inside the Supervisor Crystal told me they couldn't exchange or place the money on a gift card so He could have the tool he needed I had to wait for the money to be processed back to my CC (could be 14 days) or just buy the correct tool while I wait.... ‍ I have NEVER. heard of a store that doesn't exchange, put money on a gift card etc in all my life unless it's an ALL SALES ARE FINAL deal. This was not professional on her part and the customer was NOT happy. We just walked in there in January with a picture of a receipt from a table saw we got for Christmas and exchanged it and paid the difference to for a slightly upgraded one without any issues, so what happened here?!?!? read more

Lowes Home Improvement have gone downhill badly. Two weeks we bought a dryer. I purchased it online and was to pick it up the following morning. When my son-in-law got there to pick it up the following day, they had sold it. I paid for it and they sold it again. How do you do that? Anyway, I ordered a Whirlpool and they upgraded it to a Maytag, which now didn't match my washer, but we accepted it anyway. Two weeks go by and the washing machine dies so we order a Maytag to match the dryer to be delivered within 2 days. I got emails saying it was out for delivery and my son-in-law took off a day of work to be there. By 5:00, no dryer so he calls and the delivery department says they're not coming. The store says they have no idea where the washer is, as it was never returned to the store. I had to go down there and try to straighten this out. Another appliance is lost to us. I like lowes but I have to say they gave into corporate BS. They have many products locked up like a third world country now. I just went to the Lowes in Shallotte N.C. to purchase a dishwasher for my home in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. There was ONE person covering the entire Appliance dept and he was tied up with a builder. We selected the dishwasher we wanted and waited 1 HOUR...afterwhich we LEFT the store. This is the WORST Lowes I have ever been in. The customer service is unheard of...I came home and tried to order it online to be delivered to my house and when I finished with ordering process it told me it wasn't available at this time, to try again later. 06/29/2017 I purchased a Husqvarna Z242F zero turn lawn tractor from Lowes, paid over $3000 for it. Never had a zero turn tractor. I know zero about them (no pun intended). The tractor was received in from Husqvarna in a timely manner. I received a call from Lowes informing me of delivery on 06/28/2017 Lowes rep informed me delivery would be next day. This could have been a problem for most people but because I am retired it wasn't for me. Tractor showed up on the back of a Lowes open top truck still on the delivery platform/skid as it was received from the factory. The truck driver had no clue about zero turn tractors. Took the skid off of the truck and then attempted to run the forks under the tractor to remove it off the skid but at the very last moment decided against this as I was running down the driveway to stop him from doing that (my God, really). Driver took the skid and placed it in my driveway and then had a difficult time finding and releasing levers to unlock the transmission locks. This fellow also had no idea if the tractor had fuel in it. Driver then literally pushed the tractor off of the skid and while doing this the mowing deck got hung up on the skid knocking it out of level, I didn't notice this until I started to mow and the deck scalded my lawn. Driver, provided no help in the use of the tractor didn't even know how to start it threw the manual bag at me and stated 'I guess you have some reading to do". As I stated, I paid over $3000.00 for a tractor and received NO help and information as to the operation of the tractor, set up of the tractor, and the set up they did in the store if any was deplorable nuts and bolts left loose and not tightened down, steering handles put on the tractor wrong and out of balance and the tractor wasn't even calibrated properly for tracking. read more

To anyone who is looking for someone to install a fence, or any other home improvement project! FYI.....Lowe's Home Improvement DOES NOT stand by their work! If they will decide at this point to fix the issue after my several complaints I will be happy to remove my post! I am writing this because I'm at wits end! I have always been a good customer of Lowe's, and I feel like I have been duped! I spent over $7,000.00 last year to have a fence installed. I chose Lowe's Home Improvement to do the job because I thought they stood behind their work. I was wrong. The fence I had installed by Lowe's was vinyl in front, and wood on sides, and back. I find out during the first hour the winds got up to about 30 mph during hurricane Florence that none of the vinyl fence posts had been concreted into the ground. They were only placed into a hole with our Sandy coastal soil! We had no way to know that it hadn't been installed correctly per the Lowe's website on proper installation (concrete in posts). We were told that it was an insurance problem by Lowe's, because my labor warranty had run out in July, and if it wasn't for the hurricane we would have never known it was improperly installed. Really???? You say this to a customer???? My insurance says it's an improper install not covered by insurance. What kind of business practice is this? Lowe's......stand by your work, and make this right! At this point I'd rather spend the money to hire an attorney than pay an insurance deductible! read more

Ordered vinyl flooring but the salesman forgot to tell me that the company does not make all the threshold pieces I might need to complete the job. So instead they put down a laminate material that does not fit nor match the new vinyl. Customer service has not admitted these facts nor have they given any satisfaction to my complaints. I asked for a completely new floor which they denied saying this was my fault. Now I am asking for my money back so I can go elsewhere to purchase a new floor. This will be the last large purchase I will make from Lowe's. They get an F in my book for customer service. Please never purchase Pergo flooring here and let them install, its junk and it will be a major effort to get a resolution to correct the problem.I have been dealing with it personally for 6 weeks and took a company as big as Pergo 2 weeks to respond to Lowes calls, and then Lowes really dont care,they have what they want---your hard earned money. Not satisfied with customer service. Ordered a major appliance in early December for mid-December delivery. No-one called the day before the scheduled delivery date. I called store on delivery day and they indicated the appliance did not come in. A call from Lowes should have been made that the product was not in alleviating buyer waiting for a delivery that was not coming. During this call I arranged another delivery date in January of 2016. The appliance associated informed me that my new delivery date was now on the schedule. Went to the store later that day and decided to verify the new delivery date. Surprisingly, the associate told me that there was no entry for a new delivery date. This associate put in computer. When I asked if customary to call customer of delivery not coming and the associate said "absolutely". Whejn I informed them what had happened to me, their response was "doesn't surprise me" "this place is messed up". so I am now paying for an appliance that i don't have and hope to get next month. very poor communication. If this delivery ever happens I'm taking business over to HOME DEPOT. read more
