had to call the store five separate times get a manager named and I have a simple question. Do you sell a Generac standby unit that I can walk in and purchase now she says let me transfer you to my phone that she never picks up. I just had a simple question. "can I walk in a buy a $6500 standby generator system off the floor " and they couldn't even answer me. Then I get a call back from somebody claiming to be a supervisor that gave me all kinds of information. I did not need. I just had a simple question. I needed a yes or a no answer.. read more

It was my first time going to Lowe's with a 4 month old baby. Cynthia and James made our day and experience so fun for us. They were very friendly, kind and so patient with us. Bought an electric water heater about 2 weeks ago, had it installed and turns out it has a leak. Went to return/exchange to the store, I was informed rudely that I needed an RMA from the manufacturer and was handed a phone number. Called the number, I am number 49 in the queue - I had to leave with the broken unit as I wasn't going to sit on hold for hours at the store. How can this be ok with you Lowes? I just bought it, not my fault it was defective and now I am spending hours of my time trying to get an RMA, This is unacceptable, and I think you owe me an explanation other than it is company policy. read more

Today we went into Lowes Santa Maria to look into a Craftsman 5 gallon bucket. We couldn't find it so we asked one of the Team Members where we can find it. He said that they don't have it and advised us to go to another store. On the iphone, we showed him the product on their website. So when we got home, we found out that the product can be delivered to the store or to the customer's home. The problem is the Team Member should have direcedt us to Customer Service so they can assist us in ordering online through their store instead of telling us to go to another store. This is very poor service. This is a perfect example of lack of training of Team Members, reflection of the Store Manager and a I don't care attitude. We left without buying anything. Team Members should be told that if you don't know the answer is to find out the answer and/or refer to the Store Manager. Isn't there a Store Manager overlooking this store? Do these Team Members receive on-the-job training? Please contact me as I will be more than happy to train your Team Members free of charge. I give this store a flat F for failure. I went in to get some paint supplies, equipped with a list on their app that conveniently showed what aisle each item was located on (so nice!). The person working in the paint department was very helpful, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions (I was a little overwhelmed). I found everything I needed, no problem. It was exactly where the app said it'd be. When I checked out, the person helping at self check out was quick and friendly. Overall, it was a great experience! read more

The Santa Maria is the worst Lowes location I have ever been to. To start, it is filthy! The restrooms are gross with toilet paper and paper towels strewn everywhere. You can literally scratch graffiti on the wall tiles through the built up scum if you cared to. The employees are like ghosts. Hard to find and give the impression they would rather be anywhere else than assisting you. I am a former Lowes employee (another location) and know how it should be. It's no wonder people would rather go to Home Depot in this town than here! read more

Kudos to Anthony in Flooring who is always willing to help Customers when Customers are ignored by Most Other Staff. Anthony will even migrate to Appliances or any other dept to assist. I used to dread going to Lowe's because of Associates too busy chatting in a group of other Staff while ignoring Customers who need assistance. If not for Anthony, I would be giving a one star, but thanks to him, he has renewed my faith in Lowe's. read more

I wish I could give negative 100 stars! Bought a kitchenaide refrigerator on May 5 and didn't know it was not getting cold enough til a few days later. Called Lowe's and they said I missed the 48 return policy and it was a manufacturer issue. It is now August 25th and I still have a broken refrigerator and Lowe's still says not their problem. Kitchenaide is almost even worse. Bought the 3 year warranty and they say they will only keep sending out repair specialists to try to fix. We are on our 6th appointment with repair who only schedules in time frames of the entire day so you need to take off work to wait for them. Speaking to a human at Kitchenaide is almost impossible and Lowe's does not help with it at all. They will only repeat the same phrases over again. It's been a total nightmare. Do not buy any appliances from Lowe's, read the fine print, you only have 48 hours to discover the appliance doesn't work or you are stuck. We paid $3,500 for a broken fridge and have been living without one now for 4 months and probably will end up having to just buy a new one. The whole thing is so bad it's actually hard to believe how criminal it is read more

I place an online order for pickup for a freezer for my cottage bakery business. Around $350 total after taxes and fees. I go to pickup my order a few days later once it's available, and immediately- the associate helping me puts the freezer on its back, flat in the bed of my truck. I let him know that I don't think you're supposed to do that, he insisted, and sent me on my way. 2 days later, my freezer isn't work, no cool air is coming through. I called, spoke with Thomas in the appliance center to work out a return and replacement because though this one was broken, I still needed another freezer, and really liked the size and price of this one. Thomas told me that I would be able to bring the freezer in, and instead of a full refund, we could apply a store credit for a new order to be delivered instead of pick up. I said that was totally fine. I would be in the following day, and that it was a 30 minute drive to and from this location. Before making the drive, I clarified again what would be happening when I arrived to make this process simple. When I arrived to do the return, I waited about 30 minutes or so for an associate to help me. We finally got the freezer, unloaded out of my truck and took it up to customer service where I was greeted by absolutely nobody. Zeke stepped in and started my return process, and found that it couldn't be completed. I was told that my refund would take 7 to 90 days to process, and that they wouldn't be able to apply it as a store credit immediately like I was told over the recorded line the night before. Nobody offered a real solution, other than to wait the 7 to 90 days, And when I told them this wasn't an option for me because I needed the freezer within the next week, they asked me "why I didn't have an extra $400 laying around to just order a new one while I waited on the refund." I was very irritated at this point having been there almost an hour already with no solution, but still kept my cool. I work in customer service as well, so I didn't want to cause a scene because I know it can be stressful if it was true miscommunication . Gina (the cashier who works upfront by customer service) stepped in MULTIPLE times, she was extremely condescending, rude, and disrespectful to me and my friend who brought the freezer in for the return. She very clearly thinks she's better than everyone else, and talks to grown adults like they are children. She spoke to me as if I was stupid, and even was laughing with the customers in front of her that she stepped away from to be nosy with my situation going on with Zeke ( who also working the front counter) he was extremely rude and disrespectful. It got to a point after being there so long I decided I was going to cut my losses and just wait on the refund and order a freezer somewhere else. But as I was walking out, I realized I never talked to an actual manager, so I went back in and asked to speak with a GM or manager in charge. I was told by Zeke that they simply do not have a manager, and that he had no phone number or email to reach him at. Another associate came over corrected him, and gave me an email to reach the GM. But when I walked back in to finish our conversation, Zeke was continuously, rolling his eyes laughing, and even said "oh my fucking God when I came back to the counter" This Lowe's experience was terrible, and I really hope they learn to hire more customer friendly associates. Will never recommend, and after I get my refund, I will NOT be back in this horrible establishment. I would give it 0 stars if I could. read more

Can't say enough about Lowe's Hime Improvement in Santa Maria. The place is clean, organized, and unlike the competition, store staff actually search you out and ask you if you need help finding something or help with what we are trying to accomplish. I went in yesterday and I couldn't find a particular extension cord end to fit a commercial charger. Joe quickly identified the fact that they wouldn't have it and told me where to go to find it, and turns out he was right. These stores are huge and have just about everything you need for the DYI project. The fact that they have people that aren't afraid to assist you find something is a huge bonus. I have found the people that are there are knowledgeable about the department they are working in and can give their own two cents on how to go about your project. Cheers! read more

Lowe's Home Improvement - Nice little selection for a small shop/home welding set up! - Hardware Stores Near Me - Santa Maria, California

Don't waste your time the service is bad I mean terrible the employees are more interested in talking to each other than talking care of customers, As a Contractor, I have clients that pre-order products for my company to pick up, every time they tell me the product or material is at Lowe's I know that when I send one of my employees down to get it loaded up they will be gone for at least two hours. Sometimes they don't have forklift drivers available! What's this all about! I was really looking forward to Lowe's coming to Santa Maria I've purchased from them before down in the Ventura County area and always had Great results. For now I try to tell my client's the hassle they may incounter and I'm not wild about doing any business read more

Dear Mr. Ellison, Zack B. is exceptional. Years ago we had a representative at Lowes in Ventura we used exclusively because he treated us like "his" customer (we avoided HD). When we walked in he new our name, and he would shop with us in person or on the phone if we called. He moved on and joined Ventura PD. On return visits our experience was back to shopping at any other big box store. When my wife and I walked into your Santa Maria store to finish our design concept for our current project, we met Zack in the appliances department. We we asked if he could help with navigating appliances and also help in other departments, he said "I can help with all of our needs in all of those departments". I was expecting "the associate" to say something like "this is my department, I can only help you here." Zack spent the next two hours with us in every department that we needed product from. In the areas where he did not have expertise he reached out to the manager of the department and got the correct answer to our exacting questions or needs. He took meticulous notes (on the note pad he already carried) researched inventory on the fly for each item before we moved on to the next. Once again we felt like "his" customer. As I'm writing this I realize, I also need to give credit to the other department managers he called on. Although I don't remember all of their names (Loree in toilets was awesome, she knew her sh*, pun intended), across the board all of the department managers were supportive and helpful, did not step on Zack's toes, they impowered him. The manager in the camo vest who helped with entering the info at the end was stellar. As an example of Zack's thoroughness, he called me last night to update me on the items that were not in stock, that today was his day off, and he would call me on Thursday afternoon to follow up on the delivery to our site (first partial delivery of items that were in stock.) We own property from Ventura through Paso Robles in California and more in Wyoming. We could recant so many bad "typical" experiences from all types of home improvement stores you would turn blue while reading. To conclude, your Santa Maria team is exceptional, amazing, and worthy of national recognition of how your stores should function. Zack, thank you for making our visit so productive and enjoyable. read more

Lowe's Santa Maria, CA store kitchen cabinets department really let us down. The staff seemed knowledgeable and was friendly when we designed and ordered our kitchen cabinets. (We spent over $20,000 on the cabinets alone.) They measured onsite and inspected the products when they arrived. However, there were mismeasurements and numerous delays that ended up taking over 6 months for final installation. In the end there are still issues unresolved. Lowes company did not make us feel our project was worth their time. We had Thanksgiving on plywood counters! I would NOT recommend using Lowes for kitchen design and installation. read more

I prefer Lowes for supplies for contracting (4-5 stars) but the service experience so far (1-3 stars) makes me cringe every time I need to ask a question or to find a qualified person. I went to Lowes on 6/6/2023 to purchase rain gutters. Lowes has a variety of options as well as auxiliary parts to ensure a smooth installation. I went to the store at 9:47 a.m. and went directly to the rain gutter department. There was no one to help me. I proceeded to pull the pieces that I needed, and to dry assemble them on the floor. I had multiple questions, and I looked around for an associate, but to no avail. 30 minutes later I then went to the "pro's" desk and asked for some assistance. The young lady said that she would call someone to assist. I waited an additional 30 minutes. No help. It was so bad that there was a contractor in the next aisle, who also asked for assistance. NADA, ZILCH,ZERO. it was now 10:53. There was absolutely not a single warm body or hint of customer service for over an hour. The contractor and I walked out disgusted. Customer service is a term that describes two things: Focus on the customer, and then providing the service that the customer requires in order to create a positive experience. Didn't happen. As a person who spent over 40 years in the customer service industry, I can assure you that this situation was created by, and is tolerated by management . It starts with the culture created in the building by the person who is tasked with calling the shots. In essence. That person doesn't care. They are mailing it in and collecting a check under false pretenses. They have lost control of the ship. This is a retail version of the Costa Concordia captain who abandoned ship before his CUSTOMERS had been properly cared for. Shameful. read more

The amount of money spent at Lowe's, you expect a level of professionalism and service. I have been going to Lowe's for many years, mainly because I use DeWalt and Menard's isn't on the west coast. I spend an average of 5000-10000+ a year. I spend money for delivery, or pay someone to pickup items at curbside where I am let down, not just this time, but EVERY time. Let down is about the only thing Lowe's is consistent with. Well, I have had enough, even the people I hire to pick up items from Lowe's tell me they will not go to Lowe's anymore to pick up my items, I have to purchase from Home Depot. Between the prices, poor customer service and lack of reliability, I will be transferring my business elsewhere. read more

They usually carry a decent selection of products, but hopefully you don't have to deal with customer service. Juls was completely unhelpful and outright rude. The problem with Lowe's home improvement department, is they don't have an installation department. They contract installation out. So you can buy windows, doors, etc, but they won't be installed. Needed a dishwasher and went to Lowes Santa Maria last weekend for the sale prices. Six customers looking around in the appliance department, all ready to make purchases, but there was not a single salesman to be found. We picked a model we liked and went home to order on line. Yelp needs to add a zero or negative star. Don't shop at the Santa Maria store. My wife and I purchased a dishwasher from there and paid for professional installation. The installer are "Premier Group" and I would not recommend them as well. They installed the machine and left a bunch of plastic and styrofoam inside it and ran it on a normal cleaning cycle and left. My wife and I were excited to use the machine for the first time and went to load it with dishes after the first cycle had ended . We opened the door to discover the plastic and styrofoam all over the inside of the machine. Neither the top drawer or the bottom drawer would roll out correctly. The top drawer was still in its packaging and the bottom drawer was missing the wheels. We called Lowe's immediately to report the broken dishwasher the same day it was installed. We asked what our options were and they said that they would send a repair man out to fix it. They did not say anything about the time limit on their return policy. We requested a different specialist than Premier Group. Days later... Premier Group shows up... with the same guy that installed it. He looked at the dishwasher and said it's broken and he can't fix it and began to walk out. We asked him about what we should do now and he said that we will get a new dishwasher. We called Lowe's and they said that they would substitute a new dishwasher or refund us. We asked them to switch out our dishwasher for a comparable one that worked. They said that they would need to call us back after they checked their inventory. The very next day they called me back and told me that they would not refund or replace the dishwasher because I did not ask for it within 48 hours of the purchase. (Even though I called them the same day). They gave me the manufacturer's number and said that it was my responsibility to fix the dishwasher. I asked to speak to a manager and the manager refused to speak with me. We should have just spent more and went to Idlers. This has been a complete nightmare. read more

This has to be one of my favorite home improvement stores. We came in for a few fan and walked out with more then we bargained for. They have a variety of size ceiling fans according to the size of your room because not all ceiling fans are one size fits all. The person helping us was very friendly and knowledgeable about ceiling fans the rotation, down bars you need to install them if you have high ceilings ect...after being overwhelmed by the information we decided on a few. Then we looked at the light fixtures and notice they had some on sale reasonably priced. I liked that they have several different styles for every budget. This store is well kept, everything is neatly organized, the employees are friendly and knowledgeable of their products and services. read more

We went in to purchase several bundles of firewood. Despite having a line of customers trying to check out and several staff at the customer service counter, they only had the self service lines open. When we hit 3 items that we weren't using a bag for, a clerk needed to come over and enter a code. When we hit the 2nd 3 items, she had to do it again and then scolded us that the register wasn't working, as if we should have known that (the green light was on). If it wasn't working, why didn't she say anything the first time? When I pointed out that they didn't have any regular registers open, she said they were short staffed. I went to Lowe's in Santa Maria California to purchase a smart deadbolt. They had a Kwikset display and Schlage display. I selected a Kwikset lock that I wanted to purchase. There was none on the shelf, so I asked for assistance. I was told that Lowe's does not carry Kwikset locks, they just had the display there. Note the display was not just a poster it was a display of actual Kwikset locks. Next I selected a Schlage smart lock. I took the tear off to the cashier to get it out of the lock box, only to find out that it was not in stock. Return to the Schlage display and selected another lock. Again took the tear off to the cashier. Again, was told that it was not in stock. No indication of the display that the locks, or any lock for that matter, was not in stock. A complete waste of time.
