Best in the biz. Don't be mislead by their folksiness or the old-fashioned signage, this place is the real deal. Every single person in this store could probably build a house with their bare hands. If you're looking for knowledgeable staff and all the supplies you could need, you've come to the right place. A couple of "newer" stores have popped up in the area but they don't provide nearly the level of service and expertise. They've helped me build raised beds, studio acoustic needs, grommet work basically everything: if you have a need, they would be your best bet for straight forward solutions and the stuff you need to do it. I love Brisco's. It's true old fashioned hometown customer service that you don't find that often. Glass shop, Lumber Mill and front counter employees are always extremely helpful and friendly. Their prices are competitive and the employees are so knowledgeable. Always impressed after I leave the store. No job is too small for them to cut you wood or glass for. The staff are all super cool and friendly and there's a reason they've been in business in AG for 100+ years; they care they follow up and they're friendly. I love Brisco's True Value - it has the feel of an old-fashioned hardware store complete with the deep product knowledge and service with a smile. The garden section is to die far - Really smart people who know their stuff about plants and how to care for them. Going to the garden department is my weekend escape! I haven't been to the hardware store but this review is for the Sliding Glass Door servicing that they offer. My huge custom back patio doors needed some new wheels, new mesh screens, the rubber edge had come out in spots, new handles/locks, and the tracks needed cleaning. Briscos came out and took their time to work on almost everything (two patio doors). They ordered handles/lock and came back a week later to install. The doors work great now. However, they serviced the door panels beautifully and then put them back on the dirty track! (I'm talking an inch of dog hair and dirt). There was no better time to clean the track than when they took the glass panels off! I would have even done it myself while the glass was off if I knew the servicing didnt cover cleaning. At $450 I would expect that the tracks would be (at least) swept and the glass cleaned as a courtesy. read more

Long story short; wanted to return something, asked an employee, employee gave me attitude, was rude and threw a fit, asked for MG and employee stomped feet like a five year old. I am always welcomed with a sweet smile from none other than Lucas, who expertly directs me toward what I need before I even know I need it. I live in the area and my whole family has been building all kinds of everthing for many decades. Brisco's is an "Old School" hardware store. C'mon, they close at 1pm on Sat. and are closed on Sun. But If you want Home Depot, go there. I had an old faucet. One of the clerks literally took a standard screw out of a box and custom machined it, so it would fit my old faucet since he knew exactly what was required. I was charged only the standard price for the screw. They like to help. Another time, I had a broken piece of equipment. I decided to replace a piece of acrylic that had cracked with a piece of wood. The clerk in the back cut it to size, planed it, and shaped it for the price of the small piece of wood (lumber) alone. When companies like this are gone folks, we will be quite alone, with the corporate conglomerates If they charge a few pennies more for this and that, remember how much personal attention, and valuable experience that you are really benefitting from.
