Went to the store this afternoon about 4pm to get a quart of paint. Was told both of the people who work the paint department were on lunch. WTF? Who scheduled that? Crazy. So basically the paint department was shut down. Time to visit True Value or Orchard. read more

Loveee a good Miners Ace Hardware, especially their outdoor garden section. This was my first time visiting the Grover Beach location and it was a bit smaller than I was hoping for but they still had some nice outdoor plants, flowers, and fountains! And the best part is that they are dog friendly. :) Overall, a nice little Miner's where you can still find generally everything you need (Just not with as big of a selection)! read more

Customer service was excellent. Sandra helped my wife get the items she needed. Walked around the store with her to get her items and shared with her the special Father's Day sale and saved 20%. Awesome read more

Great selection and staff. I choose Miners over Home Depot 90% of the time because of the staff.

Security is obnoxious! While looking For large specimen in nursery it was Obvious that 'they were checking on Me.' I was carrying a purchase they seemed To think I was pocketing from the paint Section I had found earlier. In line a bit later, to buy the one purchase, a 60-70 Year old balding man came up behind me-- Startling me- and literalky yelled 3" from My ear 'SIR, over there get in that line with THAT CASHIER ! In a tone like warden to prisoner! Not the first time I've seen obnoxious Attitude by manager types at Goleta Miner's. A 50's manager supervising at check out (dark hair, dark framed glasses) ignores Customer's greetings and only interacts with his underlings obnoxiously. Today he ignored customers and called out To a working checker. 'There's no WE in hardware.' I was going to come back with my truck To pick up large nursery specimens But went to a competitor instead. THESE PEOPLE DON'KNOW RETAIL OR HOW TO DEAL WITH CUSTOMERS IN THE SANTA BARBARA MANNER! Or any modicum of normal sociability. At five other stores that day I had Nothing but pleasant and productive Shopping. Certainly not the case at Goleta Miner's. Stay away. read more

Miner's Ace Hardware - My reaction to Goleta MINER'S REPULSIVE PERSONALITIES! - Hardware Stores Near Me - Grover Beach, California

I recently too my broken window screen to Miners in Grover Beach and I was thoroughly impressed by the leve of customer service I receive. the first person that met me in the store directed me to a department downstairs and radio them I was on my wa and I was met at the bottom of the stairs to take me to the aisle where my item was buying. I felt well taken care of. I also needed to drop off my window screen. Today I had to return the screen to have the length shortened because I measured wrong., when I brought the screen in today, I dropped the screen off at 3:30pm and Esaul informed me that they were not to busy so he could have it done by today and it was completed by 6:30pm. I am delighted to see such great customer service. Thank you Mike Stewart read more

Miner's Ace Hardware - Get to work. Then relax! Ace is the place! - Hardware Stores Near Me - Grover Beach, California

I buy various things at the many Ace stores in the area. I like the idea that their staff are able to render advice and assistance. Furthermore, I only use Benjamin Moore paint and they carry it. read more

Best hometown Miners! The staff are always friendly and helpful. They have a wide variety of selection of plants that are reasonably priced. They sell outdoor furniture, which I've bought and I'm so please with. Their seasonal crafts are must buys when you see them. They also sell The Big Green Egg grills! There's everything you want and they will special order for you. The also carry a wife variety of paints, tools, etc. I love this small business and would encourage others to take a look. You'll come out with something, I guarantee! read more

Super friendly staff, they'll likely have what you need and a bag of freshly popped popcorn.

There today to get a couple of house keys made. A female employee with lots of tats was Manning the machine. There was one person ahead of me, so I gave tats my keys and took a stroll around the store. About 10 minutes later I came by to check on my keys, the original customer was just getting her keys, they were done. Tats then started working on my keys. A moment later an employee edged me out of the way with a bundle of keys. He was thin with long grey hair. Tats then pulled my keys out of the machine to help this employee and the customer he had in tow. I watched a minute or two incredulous as to what's going on. I then said if your not going to do my keys, give them back and I'll go elsewhere. Tats gave them back with out question, or sorry or I'll do them now! Terrible! read more

We only visited Miners while camping in pismo but there are a lot of staff and you get greeted almost immediately by someone that asks if you need help. Everyone there knows exactly where all the stock is. Very friendly and knowledgeable. We used their services twice and had the same great experience each time. read more

I love Ace Hardware. The employees are always very helpful. Whenever I go in I'm always able to find what I need.

We LOVE Miner's Ace in Grover Beach. The staff is always so helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Ismael in lumber is great! But really I haven't run across any employees who aren't fabulous. They've been over the top helpful during COVID. We are so thankful to have this store in our community. read more

I love this place. At Home Depot you have to track down someone to help you. At Miner's you have staff that help without acting like they are annoyed. They never make you feel like you are are stupid. They are there to help you and care. I know I'm gonna' pay a little more there but I don't mind. I support them. read more

I just love all Miner's Ace Hardware stores! Their employees are extremely helpful and kind. I prefer these hardware stores instead of the ones with the orange logo where it is like winning the lottery if you find an employee willing to help. Miner's have beautiful plants and all what a need to fix and decorate my new home. Thank you! read more

Recently, I needed new locks for my home. I thought of my local Ace Hardware first and boy am I glad. I could not imagine getting this done in a Home Depot or Orchard Supply. I was helped by Adam and Frank and they took amazing care of me. I needed some locks rekeyed and they work through everything for me. It is not often to find that level of genuine and personal service these days, but did at Miners. I am a happy and grateful customer. read more

Good service... multi locations... hood return policy. A real hardware store with local small town flavor.

Needed some garden soil/amendments. Inside staff helpful, checked out no problem. Heard them call to staff to load my order. Drove to pick up my stuff- nobody there. Waited, and waited some more, and waited even more. 10 minutes -no one to help. I loaded large bags of wet ( heavy and dirty) 3 cubic feet of soil and other items. Then an employee saunters over and I ask for assistance. He did load the rest of my order. Spoke with the manager who apologized, doesn't do much good when I have other things to do, and now am filthy and wet. Go to True Value or OSH. read more

Each year, while on vacation, we pass through Grover Beach with something that we end up needing for our camping time. We'll normally end up at Miner's for our camping or vacation needs. It helps that Miner's is conveniently located and easy to access. Miner's not only has an impressive stock of items from which to choose, but their customer service is second to none. As soon as we walk in and are greeted, we are offered help in finding what we need. We are immediately directed to where we need to go. The staff there has always been friendly and helpful to us. Their system of customer service each year we visit just blows us away. read more

You guys are awesome! Every time I'm in there your employees are so helpful. (I need to start looking at name badges) The elderly lady that helped me in the light bulbs today 1/27, the Happy guy who works the middle aisles, and the Cashier "All" provided over the top service. Please keep doing what you do... I'm there once a week. Thanks all! read more

Whenever a home repair project comes up and I need something on short notice I always come here. It has all of the essentials you find at Lowes or Home Depot without the big store hassle. The aisles are clean and well organized, and if you can't find something yourself, the staff is always quick to help. Sometimes checkout on the weekends can be slow especially if there's a rush. read more

Went in for some more chalkboard paint and came out with some more chalkboard paint. As far as hardware stores go this one is pretty good. They usually have what I'm looking for and if a project is a little outside my normal realm they usually have someone with some experience in that area. The prices are a little higher but the good service makes up for it in my humble opinion. Also if it's not in the Grover store it could be in the AG or Slo location. Just ask. Drop the paint brush, I'm out.. read more

I just figured it out....the reason no one is at Orchard Supply is because they are all at Miners Hardware Store! Every time I go there I leave thinking that they must only hire overly nice people. They are helpful and very knowledgeable. The place is packed with a little bit of everything and I always leave having a good experience.....and always leave with something I didn't know I needed:) Love shopping at Miners!! read more

Such a cute little hardware store!! It's always so clean and organized, and has the best customer service!!! I had someone check on me and offer to carry big items if need be as well. The only downfall is, it's a tourist town and the small hardware store is a little pricy. It was $8-9 for a bag of mulch, when home Depot was $4 and Osh was $5 per bag. But honestly, you're paying for the quality of service and sometimes that's totally worth the extra few bucks. read more

As all Ace they have the best help and lots of it. We live in Oregon and our Ace is fabulous too. They always have what we need and more. Friendly helpful service. I received a coupon for 10.00 off after spending 50.00 from my Vons receipt GREAT!!!!! read more

We come here from the Los Angeles area every weekend and long holidays. I do all kinds of shopping for my homes and found this really great down to earth hardware store just near by in Grover Beach. And all the people are very kind and always asking if you need any assistance. Have a good selection of practical items including plant section. I've always wondered how local hardware shops can compete against the big box retailers like Lowes and Home Depot. Well, I figured it out a few months ago! Miner's Ace Hardware (in Grover Beach) is local, and staffed by truly superb employees. Even if Home Depot were across the street, I'd continue shopping at Miner's. The Grover Beach location is always filled with employees waiting to help you. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and go the extra mile to help you in whatever project you're working on. Each project I've needed help with, I've been given great advice, and if they don't carry something I need-they point me in the right direction in where to find it. They also have some pretty smoking deals to boot! Yesterday, they had a 20% off sale, and were giving away a free can of paint! What a deal! Combine unbelievably excellent service, with great pricing, a wide selection, and proximity, and you have a recipe for success! I've come to expect the salty smell of buttery popcorn every time I enter the store, very nice touch! read more
