"Yes jugujouioo" so states my so called draft review per Yelp. Since Yelp will never leave me alone until I do an actual review, then here it goes. While we rarely go to HomeGoods, we do go far more often to their sister stores, such as TJ Max & Marshals. When is the best time to go? It is best to go for the after Xmas sales, when someone can score on holiday snacks at 50% or more off. We grab a ton of chocolates, nuts, candies, and even holiday coffee just the other day a few days after Xmas. We were not alone, and it is hard not to spend alot of time browsing and not interact with others here. I somehow got into a conversation about the health benefits or risks of some of the foods that were offered there. Someone was asking me about the alleged health implications of Seed Oils, Mushrooms, and more all the while telling me that they would never" get a vaccine. They also claimed that online that some are recommending Nicotine patches to fight infections & COVID itself. I tried to put things into perpective & had already researched the absurd claims on social media about the Nicotine. The Nicotine patch idea had nothing to do with evading an infection, it had to do with some rather hair-brained theory involving a neurotransmitter & brain fog. The so-called "study" was not really a study as it involved only 4 people in Germany. It was done by what appeared to be a non-English speaking Anesthesiologist in Germany...who somehow published an extended long paper in English. I read it and my opinion was that it was near worthless and could encourage people to do something that did more harm than good...and was utterly useless to prevent infection. Other absurdities including buying products from Poland, Turkey, and wherever and somehow working about some fringe ideas about seed oils, and not that Cinnamon & other spices could very well have toxic lead added to them due to simple greed. Lead makes it way into our kids applesauce and other products...yet people somehow worry about seed oils. The MAHA movement, now mainstream, even invades HomeGoods! read more

I've never liked HomeGoods. Why? Cause I'm a man. Yeah. However, I recently went into this location, and found a whole %$#@ of things. It's actually very similar to Ross, Marshall's, and TJ Maxx. So, either I found somewhere else to shop that I like, or I'm becoming more and more metrosexual. Okay, I'm not Scrooge although I feel as such upon arrival. I'm not the best reviewer when it comes to these type of stores, so consider my legitimacy. Home goods historically isn't for the sensory overloaded feint of heart! I have no idea how people choose anything given the paradox of choices, that's a real thing. It's the most organized madness in 1 store that I've ever experienced. Being that my close friend got me hooked on these dark chocolate blueberries, I blame her for all my distress right now, as home goods is one of the few authorized dealers to this habit forming delicacy! If you can't find your treasure of decorations, bedding, or esoteric foods to name a few, it doesn't exist. Was asked to get the credit card 4 times in one transaction. I was polite in saying no but felt very frustrated that my word wasn't being respected. This isn't at the person ringing me up, this is for management that I know is pushing them to sell the credit cards. I said no once, RESPECT THAT. So rude to ask 4 times and try to pressure me. Ask ONCE and let it go, seriously. Will not be coming back because I know it will keep happening. read more

Worst customer service ever! The checker has been chatting with a woman at the counter and is oblivious that a line is forming!

Got some good deals on some pet stuff and while I was there I got some sheets I thought I'd like. Tried them out one night and they were very low quality so I decided to return them. Any other place this has been pretty easy, even without a receipt. Most stores can just pull up your most recent transaction if you bring the card you used. I had of course lost mine (my b). I figured they'd be able to work with me and maybe do an exchange at least. Nope, I was first told that I couldn't return it without a receipt (understandable for a mom and pop, but a nationwide chain not so much). Then that they couldn't accept it if it had been washed, I told them they hadn't been then they asked if I used them... I said yes but I took them off the next day. They suddenly said it couldn't be returned if it was used .. in what scenario would I return something I hadn't used and disliked? All of this just to come down to the receipt thing... Why would you ask all these questions if that is already a no? I honestly got the feeling they COULD have accepted it but didn't feel like it. They kept making up contradicting rules on why they couldn't accept it. Stephanie or Samantha or something, who I believe was a manager treated me like i was trying to rip them off. It's too bad, I got some good deals and was planning on shopping here more often... This is why Amazon is putting brick and mortars out of business left and right lol. This place felt a bit cramped and disorganized, but in the end, we found an entryway bench, a random stool, and some bathroom accessories for a pretty good price. It definitely felt like we were hunting for the good pieces among piles of miscellaneous things and some pretty heavily damaged pieces. There were several pieces of furniture that we liked but that had missing knobs or had very large scuff marks because they were, quite literally, buried under piles of other products. And when we asked staff about if they had the same item in a better quality, they weren't able to help us with this. However, they were generally pretty helpful / friendly and we came out with what we wanted, so can't complain there! read more

RICK the customer service agent was checking me out. I didn't have my store card so I had to call the bank to get the number while I was doing that he had an absolute attitude. He was so rude. He did not want to help. He was yelling and screaming. I don't know what his problem was if he needed help or someone to talk to. I'm not sure, but it was the most awful experience I've ever been through my entire life and then at the end, I wanted to take some towels back. He gave me an attitude so I shoved them towards him and he starts screaming and flapping his arms around saying that I hit him and threw stuff at him then proceeds to call the manager. I think her name was Samantha she did not know how to use her own register. I mean I just can't believe this. I'm in utter shock right now, he was so rude to me that I left that store crying and I will never go back again man his name was Rik. She called him. She had to leave because he was so crazy. I don't even know what to say. This was the most horrible experience ever they really need to think about who they hire before they do! I'm so upset! Rik really does not need to be in customer service. He should be put in a mental facility. Just left Home Goods in SLO after ALMOST buying a leather sofa, but the condescending rude sales people killed that sale! Home Goods really needs to retrain their people to be patient and kind and not give snarling nasty looks when customers ask questions. If one of my employees did this, they would be fired! I started going to home goods down in Southern California as there was none here locally. Their prices are great and they have quality items. Most of the time I buy something and if I'm looking for something I can usually find it such as a special pillow. They have a variety of items from nice kitchen items, to towels, small furniture etc. You have to go there every now and then as they keep changing. I just went to the one in Santa Maria and it's a little bit bigger and just as nice. read more

I really do enjoy shopping at HomeGoods and through the years I have spent Thousands of dollars here. This review is aimed at the manager here by the name of Raquel who was working tonight 12/3/22 at 4:55 PM She is the rudest manager that i have ever come across at this store! Refusing to honor a discounted price of only $8.00 on a set of dishes is just bad business! I was also purchasing two other identical sets at the discounted price. Her reasoning was absurd stating "well these two sets are old from a few weeks ago and this other set is new just arriving this week" (?) What a ridiculous policy! But it was her rude demeaning attitude that sucked! I said well "how about a 10% discount" she laughed and said "No I don't think so" Even the sales girl stated that any other manager would have honored that request but Raquel was difficult and she even dreaded having to call her to the checkout! That should tell you something about Raquel. If I were corporate I would get rid of her as it gives HomeGoods a bad taste. Just not a way to treat a customer. read more

Home Goods is a reliable chain which is owned by the same company that owns Marshalls and TJ Maxx. They sell home décor, housewares, dinnerware, pots and pans, furniture, and random things that you normally won't find in similar department stores, i.e., gourmet chocolate. As a Man with a new place to furnish, I couldn't resist stopping in to this particular link in the chain. As I had expect, I found the place full of pots, pans, and all manner of things that I'm currently in need of. Unfortunately, as per my previous experience at other locations, the specific items I found in stock were pretty hit-or-miss in terms of my specific needs. On the plus side, the prices remain outstanding. Tip: If you (like me) have recently moved into a new place and have space to fill in your new homestead, or just want to revamp an existing place into a different style, you'll find a lot of selections here that may be just what the doctor ordered :-) Bottom line: This particular Home Goods location doesn't have as much furniture on display as I would have liked, but they do have some very attractive deals on kitchen items like glasses, plates, etc. It's totally worth a visit! read more

I agree with Tori K.'s review, this is one of the messiest HomeGoods I've been to. Many of the items seem a little damaged but are sold for full price nonetheless. The prices here are a bit higher than at sister TJMaxx or Marshalls stores and even though the selection is bigger, I would rather look at housewares or decor at the aforementioned stores to avoid getting overwhelmed with the clutter. read more

I have been to numerous home good stores so I know what to expect when I come in. I love finding things that I didn't know I couldn't live with out and getting them at reasonable prices. The staff are usually friendly and the store is well kept... Well, here I did not encounter very many staff so I can't judge on that... But I have never seen a store so cluttered. Some of the aisles couldn't have carts in them because there were so many items on the floor. The clearance area was a disaster. Seriously, this is a store?! As a very famous lady once said...WHAT A DUMP!! We have been in several Home Goods and were looking for some new treasures. The place looked like a gang of two year olds had self decorated. There was stock on the floor, in front of the shelves and pile upon pile of different items crammed on the available shelf space in no apparent order. It was dirty, cluttered, poorly stocked, and poorly staffed. It was deja vu of the early days of Pic & Save in So Cal. So glad we have our own local one. Living in Southern Cali, we would go to Home Goods every couple of weeks. Never fails, wife and I fill up the cart as we go, then piece through everything, put back the excessive impulse stuff, but can never leave the store without buying anything. The store always has new things every couple of weeks and the prices are amazing (just bought a couple alice in wonderland dessert plates for $3.99 and the exact ones online are almost $20!) Only downside is it never seems like they have enough cashiers, always have a long wait, but they do the best to get you through. Definitely will go again...and again...and again. read more

Was in your store this evening and found a lamp which I was interested in purchasing-there were no tags and no light bulb and the base of where the bulb would fit was not a type I was used to seeing in a lamp -took it to the front desk requested the price and information on the type of bulb to be used -salesperson went to find the manager who returned with a price she had labeled onto the lamp and I asked her about the bulb, she said we don't have a bulb for this lamp in the store, I advised her that I not looking to buy a bulb but wanted to know what kind of bulb would be used in the lamp -she, Jasmine responded with a twisted face like I was bothering her and assisting customers was not part of her job -and she did not even say thank you when I purchased the other item I brought to the checkout -someone needs to advise Jasmine of her job description is or keep her away from customers spending money which goes toward her salary. read more

We've been waiting for this store to open..... NOW OPEN!! Everything for the home, inside and out, and very reasonable prices. They say 20-60% off retail. We especially like the garden furniture and decor, pots-pots-pots, and really neat statuary from time to time. No clothing in these, but TX Maxx is right across the parking lot. This review is based on a purchase and return. We bought two matching end tables at the Home Goods in SLO. When we got home I was dusting the tables and noticed that one had a large crack at the base. It wobbled slightly from the crack, but one wouldn't have noticed it unless you were down on your hands and knees cleaning it like I was. In due time the crack will grow and the single table leg will break off, making the table completely unusable. The next day I took the table back to Home Goods. The return was easy and the cashier was friendly. I asked if they could special order another table and I was told this was not possible. The cashier told me that they never know what they will be receiving and that trucks just arrive with new products. I thought this was odd (That they don't have someone in charge of purchasing for the store), but I was assured that more tables would be coming in and to keep checking with the store. My wife called the store for the next few weeks with no luck. Recently we were in the neighborhood and decided to stop by the store. I came in and lo and behold there was one of the tables right in the front of the store, prominently displayed. I knew my wife would be excited about this and she was, until she looked down at the base of the table and noticed the crack. Home Goods took back the damaged table, knew that it had a large crack, and then put it back out on the floor for sale ... at FULL price! Be very careful what you buy at Home Goods. They don't seem to care about selling their customers damaged goods. read more

Great selection but can get quite disorganized and crowded. His home goods is my wife's favorite place. It has one of the better selections of good and decorations. Most of my paycheck goes to home good. The cashiers are super friendly and always ask if you want to open up a home good credit card. The SLO area has needed a store like this for a long time. Inventory is always changing, so if you see something you love, grab it. Employees are very nice, but please staff more registers! I would go in more often, if I could count on getting through the line faster. 15 minutes when the store isn't busy is excessive.
