The Blue Ridge Flower Exchange is a cooperative of local cut flowers in downtown Roanoke, Virginia,…read morethat connects regional farms with wholesale buyers and retail Flower lovers. I happened to find out about this flower shop when I went to the Grand Opening of the Parkway Brewing Company on Campbell Ave in downtown Roanoke. This Flower Shop is located right next to it and the friendly lady with a beautiful personality who runs it welcomed me when I stepped in and explained to me what this coop is all about. Founded as a collaborative workspace and storefront for regional farmers, the exchange lets local growers pool their resources to provide a consistent, abundant supply of seasonal blooms. The shop reduces environmental impact by cutting out long-distance floral shipping and features a warm community-driven atmosphere that frequently hosts collaborative pop-ups. The shop offers seasonal straight bunches and vibrant mixed bouquets featuring locally grown favorites like zinnias, cosmos, snapdragons, and rudbeckia. It also offers bouquet seasonal subscriptions with full-season packages or shorter summer and fall bundles, with Wednesday pickups. This amazing flower shop also hosts hands-on design classes, including seasonal wreath-making and floral arrangement workshops. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and its flowers and other items for sale there. Individual mixed bouquets typically range from $15 to $30. I highly encourage you to give them a visit and wholehearted support.
