I ordered some small supplies online and came to the store to pick them up. Nobody wanted to help me even though there were not other customers around. They paged "Hector" repeatedly while standing around and I eventually asked someone with a front desk clerk tag if he could help me. I think his name was W-----. His response: "why do you think they're paging Hector?" The he turned his back to me and walked away - with no work to actually do. Hector never came. Eventually a surly W----- came back with a clipboard and he ordered me to enter my order number into a screen kiosk. I asked him if I could please just give him my name. He said no, I had to enter the number. Then he turned to the man who had arrived and was waiting behind me for his last name, and then he went and got the man's order. The word for this is misogyny. This is why women hate coming to hardware stores: they are treated as if they are in the third-world, with disrespect and disregard. I won't be coming back. read more

And I was sitting at milling for about 10 minutes and finally an employee came by and asked her and she was very nice and said she'd get someone so I was chatting with this guy for maybe about 15 minutes still nobody came and he was telling me that he got a door now he's having a problem with it and at the end of the day, I said screw it. I visited this location at 100 Connecticut Ave. in Norwalk, CT because I needed a board to place under my stackable washer/dryer in a very small space. I got some great customer service from Garfield in the lumber area and Baltazar in the general aisle area. Garfield cut down the board to the size and area that I needed them to fit into. Baltazar provided me with information that I asked about for another product and was also helpful in retrieving a price the board that I purchased. This was a very positive visit to this location because of those two gentleman's awesome assistance. Thanks for making this an easy visit for me. read more

Maybe I got here at the wrong time. I had a quick question about where to pick up the free member gift. 10/9 around 12:30pm and the man cashier kept talking to a customer. I worked in retail for over 15 yrs, I know he could have professionally cut his conversation shorter. The customer wasn't even making a purchase. I shop at the Norwalk Lowe's because of the expertise and recommendations of the helpful staff. I have bought everything from a Bosch washer and dryer to a bathroom vanity to a lowly bottle of spray cleaner and annual plantings at Lowe's, and I have never had an issue with the staff or the quality of the products. Norwalk Lowe's is easy to shop in, and if I can't find something I ask a Lowe's rep for help. If s/he doesn't know the answer to my question, they get someone to help me who can. Walked into get my Lowe's reward of the month after weeks of waiting for this event, walked through the front doors and saw the table of items waited patiently of course and tapped activate reward which brought up the barcode, lady had to scan it twice and claimed i had already picked up the order.... Because she had just scanned it twice obviously....i said i had just activated it and in a fake sweet voice said oh im sorry about that oh well I'm immediately regretful of giving them any prior business I didn't feel like arguing any further than the clear and obvious that i had just walked in for the first time today at the proper location to receive my item and was being denied.... I recently purchased two nest thermostats at Lowes Norwalk. i decided they were two complicated for me and returned them. When I bought them on my debit card, my account was debited immediately, but when I returned them, they told me it would take 5-7 days for my account to be credited. When I called customer service to find out why the charge could be debited immediately, but the credit took a week, the hold time was 30-60 minutes. When they're taking your money, they are the picture of efficiency. Just don't try to get it back! read more

This is why Home Depot right next door is a better option. They have repeaters installed for cell reception. Hallelujah! We visited July 1, 2021 around 10 AM and they were pretty busy already. I wanted to take the time to thank the great staff in the gardening section of the store for their professionalism and willing to go the extra mile in helping us determine which indoor plants were "safe" for our pets (parrot, dog and cat). Some of the smaller indoor plants only said "houseplant" for a description which makes identification very difficult if you aren't certain what it is. We wound up spending quite a bit more than we intended to because they helped us feel safe in our choices. At least four different employees were involved and all really tried to help in both large and small ways. Thanks Lowe's! read more

I bought a package of Dahlia tubers, Went to plant them a week later, they were dried out so bad they turned to dust when I touched them. I brought them back in the original packaging. I did not have my receipt anymore. The sales lady and the checkout girl were the snottiest people i have ever dealt with in my life, You know the kind who don't even open their eyes when they talk to you. Lowe's tends to have more in stock than the Home Depot nearby. At least the household things we need. They're very helpful in the store, but we usually do store pickup. Occasionally, we do curbside pickup for heavy items like 10 - 40lb bags of salt for our water softener. Our order is quickly ready for pickup and someone brings it over and loads it into the car within minutes. I would have a hard time doing this on my own, so it's amazing that they provide curbside for heavy and bulky items. At some point I won't even check Home Depot, because they rarely have what I need. In my experience, Lowe's tends to have more options, but they also tend to be a bit pricier. read more

Not only is no one staffing the pickup, but no one has answered a phone in any department for over the last three days--and I let it ring for 10-20 minutes! This location has gone downhill. I went at 7:30 Sunday morning to get propane refill. Paid and waited outside 10 min. Went back inside to ask if someone was coming out. I was told yes. 10 more minutes nobody. I went to the same women at self checkout and told her I wanted a refund. She said go to the service desk. I'm sharing my experience as customers need to be aware of the shady and deplorable experience I had and hopefully prevent another customer from what I faced. March 14th, 2021 I purchased a refrigerator from Lowes.com. The website indicated that the item was in backorder and will not be able to be delivered until June 3rd, 2021. So I proceeded to select that date as my earliest option. On May 5th, 2021 I received a call from Norwalk's Lowe's stating my fridge was delivered early and asking if I would like to move the delivery date up. I then requested it to be delivered 5/25/2021. But, due to my renovations not being ready I rescheduled the 5/25 to 5/31 followed by my original date of 6/3/2021. On 6/1/2021, I received a call from Brian stating he cannot find my fridge and that the notes on the fridge states that someone sold my fridge to another customer on 5/16/2021. Please note that the fridge that was sold was a special ordered fridge that was specifically chosen due to size and color and was purchased and issued for me. It is also now sold out at every appliance store along with a lot of other fridges due to the pandemic until the Fall. He told me he will look into it further, issue me a loaner, and have an appliance manager get in touch with me for a solution. I appreciated Brian's honesty and can tell he was put in the unfortunate position of being the messenger of unprofessional news. I waited 6 hours to hear back and did not receive any follow up. I proceeded to cancel my clients for the day to go to Lowe's to speak with a manager. As no one answers their phones. I was directed to speak to the appliance manager Shi. He was unhelpful but proceeded to say he needed to trace my fridge and speak with Brian and that he will call me in the morning. Waited til early afternoon, no call. Again canceled my meetings to go to the store. Shi appeared annoyed with my presence and frustration and stated he needed more time. He called a couple hours later saying he issued me a loaner fridge and he is still working on finding me a replacement as my original fridge has a 3 month lead time. And finding a comparable replacement is challenging. While the situation is unsettling the customer service experience was even worse. I have dealt with multiple managers at this location, the experience was poor. With the exception of the head cashier Nadine (who was super respectful and attempted to help). They seemed as if they are doing me a favor by offering me a loaner fridge and I was an inconvenience. I would not have needed a loaner if the fridge I purchased and delivered to their store with my name was not then given to another customer. On 6/3 delivery shows up with the loaner. When I asked if they are removing my old fridge, they stated I did not pay for that service. I explained that this is a loaner fridge for the original fridge I bought with a removal service and that my fridge was then sold to another customer. Hence the loaner. He then explained that I'll need to go to the store to pay for the removal and that they can redeliver the fridge tomorrow. I refused the loaner as if I had more time and money to waste on Lowes debacle. Special ordered purchases need special approvals to be resold. As I had an issue with another order months ago when my credit card used to purchase the item had fraud. So when I went to pick it up, I was unable to get the item. They needed to get a manager to call the supplier to release the item to then put into their Lowe's system to then resell to me with another form of credit card. If I had this much issue to repurchase an item that belonged to me, I have an hard time understanding how my fridge was released to another customer without management awareness. Management would have needed to give the approval for this to be done and that is absolutely unacceptable. If this is how the leadership of this location behaves, the trickle down effect to other customer service personnel is to be expected. Reasons why there are multiple reviews about the terrible customer service and every time I'm at this location, customers are asking for a manager. This experience has led me to give up on Lowe's. I was a very loyal customer spending pretty much every weekend at Lowe's. Never again will I be going to Lowe's. There are no words for this experience. Unless Lowe's will be giving me a free fridge or a total upgrade for pennies, or reimbursing me for the expenses I incurred due to canceling my business dealings, there is no coming back from this one. The amount of time and energy I lost, revenue I suffered to cancel appointments and meetings, and stress and disrespect I experienced, I refuse to subject myself to another Lowe's experience ever again. I now have to spend more time out of my work day to call other stores to try to get a new fridge for my family. Save yourself a headache and think twice before dealing with Lowe's. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. Recently bought a condo in need of some rehab and previously used Home Depot which was overall a good experience. Lowe's at the time was not around, found the visual aspects of Lowe's better and at the time the prices were a little more appealing and decided to buy my hardwood, paint and some miscellaneous here like rugs and small tools. First mistake was not realizing how horrendous the service is, don't mind waiting, but for 30-45 minutes for a simple order when 1 or 2 people are ahead? Second, no self check out, usually one register open in main area and one for the builders at the far end. Third, piss poor employee attitudes generally all the time(Some good ones in customer service, registers) but generally bad. GM is non-existent. Avoid this Lowe's unless you love wasting time to save a couple dollars and be treated like garbage. Not giving it one star because one in 5 trips here was successful and don't feel the need to tell you each and every story. Would be glad to hear this store goes under. read more

After ordering a smoker from Walmart that never came, decided to buy from Lowe's. Ordered the smoker in a box (Oklahoma Joe's triple function). Reps are hard to come by, but got someone. Showed him the picture and he went and got it. Since it was huge, he helped load it into car and spent about half an hour with me trying to squeeze it in. Customer service was great at letting me swap out the grill I ordered online too. Overall a great experience for me. The grill came in great condition. No dents, tears, etc. Followed instructions to season it. I do think the thermometer is broken so let's see how my 4 year warranty does on that. read more

I had to manually call the store to find out that the fridge was delayed for a week. Then after 1 week, I had to call again to find that the the order has been canceled, with no warning whatsoever. DO NOT PURCHASE A FENCE THROUGH LOWES. Lowes Norwalk Customer Service is terrible. We have tried getting our fence issues resolved for over month, customer service reps continuously fail to respond and follow up. Just tried forwarding our emails over to corporate and CEO, just looking for a response from anyone who cares. Below is the email we forwarded on to several lowes employees... We recently just purchaser a fence from Lowes in Norwalk CT and I wanted to follow up in regards to the installation that was just completed to let you know how dissatisfied we are with the level of service that was provided by Fliks Enterprises. the outsourced installation company. Before we purchased the fence, we received a few different estimates from other local companies & ultimately decided to go with Lowes because of the good impression our saleman Brett had left. This past Thursday 8/30, 3 workers came to begin the fence installation. Later in the afternoon I was surprised to see the amount of work that was actually done & how horrible everything looked. Areas of the fence were severely slanted and it was obvious that with all of the time they had, they didn't take the time to ensure everything was level. My neighbor told me that one of the workers disappeared for several hours and the other 2 took a 2 hour lunch break. Several other neighbors also told us how bad everything looked & I couldn't agree more. We called our project coordinator (Sadera?) at Lowes right away, and left 2 voicemails to express our concerns. Unfortunately we never even received a call back. The next day, I had to stay home from work because it was obvious that the workers from Fliks needed supervision and direction. I also had to speak with the supervisor to advise him how to correct his mistakes. Only when it began to rain late on Friday did the workers start hustling to "complete" the job, and it was even more obvious how little effort & care was put into their work. For example, one of the areas I wanted the fence post to go had rock in the ground. The workers told me it was not possible to put it there because they didn't want to take the time to jack hammer it out. This would have left a 4 foot opening which they thought was OK. Because it was getting late and started raining, they ended up cutting the fence post leaving maybe 3 inches of it cemented in the ground. Now I'm concerned that a gust of wind is going to take it right out of the ground. Another example is that the 2 gates were installed differently. On one side the latch has to be pushed up to open the gate, where on the other it has to be pushed down. Sloppy things like this just prove that the job was done poorly. The amount of debris left behind is also deplorable. There was crushed cement in the driveway & street, excess dirt tossed into the gardens & white vinyl shards all over the grass which our dog got sick from. Now we have to spend the holiday weekend cleaning up their mess? Not ok. When asking about the warranty, Fliks mentioned that it was only a 1 year warranty where I thought it was a lifetime? I also need confirmation that the purchase includes 18 month free financing in which was agreed to in the sales process (I have this in writing). The first statement we recieved was only mentioned the financing was free for 6 months. This needs to be corrected ASAP as this was the deciding factor in choosing Lowes. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. We are embarrassed that our neighbors had negative comments about the appearance and job that was done. And the fact I had to take a day off of work to supervise and tell them how to do their job is not right. We also are still waiting on a call back from our project coordinator. I highly recommend not sub-contracting to Fliks for any of your customers in the future. Because of this, we will not be using Lowes for future projects.  I look forward to your response on resolution to this matter. read more
