Instructions that are pasted on the back of the panels- They cut it face up and should have been face down.

I don't use this Lowe's but stopped in since I was close by to get smooth panel boards cut that we always use for our art projects-as the two men were cutting it I noticed the edges were extremely jagged and asked one of them If the blade was old or missing teeth because I've never had seen such bad borders before (we have over 50 pieces cut of the smooth panel boards). The grumpy man said nope that's how it looks and that's why I don't like cutting these. I said I've never seen such a bad jagged cuts like this. The other guy asked if he should go on. Needing the boards to meet a deadline I said ok. But then looking at how the edges where ripping I stopped them and asked if they could flip the board over to see if it cuts smoother. After an eye roll and sigh he did it and behold there was a "smoother" edge! I was excited and said can I get some new panels recut this way? He said "yeah, go get them yourself and I'll do it again". Came back with more panels and the grumpiest of the two - snapped at me and said "you're going to have to pay for these too!" I replied with "why? You cut them incorrectly." After they made the first correct cut the showed it to me and sarcastically asked "is this to your satisfaction now?" I replied and said "I'm not trying to be a pain here just trying to give us all a learning moment about how to cut these boards-and would you agree this looks way better than the first one?" He said "I don't care how they look I just cut what I'm told and you said to go ahead and continue to cut them". Long story short I bought all the cut pieces and when I got home I read the "instructions on the back panel in how to cut it...guess what? Guess what grumpy men at Lowe's doesn't know how to cut smooth panel boards and obviously doesn't read instructions on how to cut them correctly???

They have a good selection. The staff is particularly friendly and will bend over backwards to help and accommodate your needs. They offer a price match +10% and they are very good about honoring it. They also have an excellent warranty on plants. If you are military, let them know for 10% off.

The return policy is great at Lowe's. All of the staff are helpful and friendly. I like Lowe's better than Home Depot.

Knowledgeable and attentive. We came in here for just windshield wiper fluid and ended up buying more than that! Organic, potting soil, lighter fluid, firewood and got a house key made. I even bought the last fire pit and you won't believe how much I paid for. $149.99!! They didn't have the cover in stock, however they ordered it online and it will be delivered free to the store. They will notify us when it's in. Besides hardware, they also have paint section, cleaning supplies, bird food, grills and a small post office inside. If you are not doing a huge project (building materials), this place is so convenient and you can find them quickly. I love Lowes, however, it can be difficult to find stuff.

My lady and I recently moved to the area and were glad this place was here. We'd been by a couple times for random odds and ends, but after a recent trip experience, we felt we really needed to tout this spot. We stopped by on a Saturday after lunch just for some windshield wiper fluid for my lady's car, but she noticed a nice fire pit that we could use for our new back yard. The staff were all very friendly and helped us find the price. The price ended up being $149.99, which my lady and I couldn't resist, so we scored the last one with some extra goodies (fire wood, potting soil, and an extra house key). Two very helpful employees helped us bring the fire pit to our car. Unfortunately they didn't have a cover for said fire pit in stock, but we ordered one through them which will be delivered to this location at no additional charge. I have a really good feeling that we'll be regulars at this location. The whole staff are very helpful and friendly. This Ace is definitely the place for the helpful hardware folks!

Nothing exciting to see here, kid. As if by some cosmic stroke of fortune, the advent of the super-sized hardware stores (you know the ones I'm talking about so I'm not going to name them) coincided with the purchase of my first home. I'm not exaggerating when I claim to have spent HOURS in those stores -- looking at hundreds of faucets, light fixtures, paint samples, etc. it was like Yuppie Candyland. At this point in my life, however, I've come full circle on the hardware front. I don't want to spend 20-30 minutes driving to the superstore, and I certainly don't want to spend hours looking at all the products (That's want the internet is for!). Above all, however, I want to be able to talk to someone who can give me sound, knowledgeable advice about my project. Meet Brian, the owner of Ace Hardware in Clifton. "I'm restoring X --- what do you recommend?" He and most of his well trained staff have RARELY failed me. "Use this type of primer, that type of paint (always Benjamin Moore because it's the best), this o-ring, that turnbuckle, this filter, that electric mower." I'm not saying that I never go to the superstores -- Ace can hold only so much--but this is always my first stop, and like my parents, I come away more often than not with exactly what I needed.

He immediately told me he was out of it but he hadn't looked for it and seemed confused about what I was looking for - due to a language barrier, possibly. He then points to where he said it had been and says, "See, sold out." I said, "But that's says glue sticks (for glue guns) and I want a leather punching tool." He got irritated and said, "No, that's it. That's what you want." I told him I did not want glue sticks and thank you for his time. I went to leave and saw a clerk sitting at the register. She's eating a bag of chips and licking her fingers while I tell her what happened and asked if she knew if they had it in stock. She cut me off, while licking her fingers, and says, "I have no idea. Ask him." and points over to the paint area of the shop. It's at that time that the man standing there walks off and the man I already dealt with took over. I find the man that had originally been at the paint counter and tell him what I'm looking for. That it's a tool and they may not have it in stock. That it's on their website and told him what it does. Described what it looked like also. Then I told him what happened with the other man with the glue sticks. What did this man then do?? He took me to another part of the store and showed me more glue sticks. You know the kind elementary children use in kindergarten. I said, "I'm looking for a rotating leather punching tool. The kind for punching holes in belts and purse straps. The handle is like a pliers and the top has different size spikes that rotate." He then points to the paper hole puncher and says "That?" That's when I thanked him for his time and I left. I should point out that these were not teenagers. These were adults. Everyone was at least in their 60s. That was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. It's absolutely ridiculous that not one person would listen to what I was looking for long enough to realize that I did not want glue sticks or paper punchers or maybe stop licking your fingers while someone is asking for customer service.
