I don't have a loyalty to Lowe's vs. Home Depot... I'll go to either but unfortunately, both are pretty lacking here in Midland. I've been to this Lowe's a few times and it's usually the same experience... I'll be passed by numerous employees and not a one acknowledges me, asks if I need help finding anything, says "Hi", etc. Nothing. I mean, these stores are HUGE... sometimes I'll wander around for an absurd amount of time trying to find something and in the meantime, not even see and employee to even ASK where the product would be. But then there's when you ask someone a question... I haven't felt the response was confident. Like, when you issue a response and it has a "questionable tone/pitch" it doesn't make me feel like you KNOW what you're talking about. Then there comes my most recent trip here, I came with a list of items needed and they were out of many of them which was totally disappointing and resulted in me having to make another stop at Home Depot to get the rest (Ugh. Annoying). No surprise, the trip prior I came for a miter saw. The $99 one (on sale from $139) was out of stock so I ordered it online and had "in store pick up". I got the email saying it was in so I headed to Lowe's and went to the pick up desk. I was kind of surprised that my item wasn't in the pick up area (which would make sense). Instead, the lady had to go in the back (which felt like an eternity since I had 3 kids ages 2, 3 and 5 with me). End of story, I got my saw but MAN! That was quite the wait. In addition to the store experience, we had a guy from Lowe's come out and give us an estimate for replacing our windows. He was really nice and we appreciated that he would periodically call back and ask if we made our decision. (Neither of the 2 other companies who gave us estimates called to see if we made our decision.) We've since decided to hold off on the $10,000 project for now. read more

Bought flooring from Lowe's and paid for them to install it. Was assaulted by one of the installers in my own home. Lowe's blamed it on Service Pros. Service Pros refused to discuss it with me. They wouldn't refund the $1000+ I spent on installation either. Had to miss work 2 days to file a police report and get my head together. And there's a visible seam in my living room, but that's the least of my worries because I feel unsafe in my own home now. read more

Parents bought washer/dryer set with 3-year protection plan. Washer shakes violently with and without load. Lowes brought a replacement but the same problem. After that, Lowes said it was my parents problem to pay extra through protection plan or to go through Whirlpool. Parents are elderly and live 50 miles away from the Midland, TX store it's difficult to get things resolved, especially since Lowes doesn't want to help. Lesson learned: Do not buy anything from Lowe's because if it doesn't work you've lost your money and won't get much help. read more

If you order something from Lowe's, make damned sure you want it. My old lawnmower crapped out, or so I thought, so I ordered a new one from Lowe's, set to arrive in a week or so. An hour later, I got the old mower running again. So I hopped online to cancel my order for a new mower. After getting nowhere (of course!), I called customer assistance. I was told that they couldn't cancel the order because, after less than two hours for an item that was due to arrive in 8 days, it was already in transit. Anybody want to buy the Brooklyn Bridge? I bought a GE washer and dryer, and a Frigidaire refrigerator for the house and one for the garage. The delivery guys did not speak English and damaged the first refrigerator beyond repair. I went to the store and selected another refrigerator. They they delivered the washer and dryer. They damaged the washer and dryer when they tried to put pedestals on, and had to bring another washer and dryer. Then they found pedestals were bent, so they had to deliver another one of those. The delivery guys this time only spoke Spanish, and they told me they were not allowed to install a pedestal if washer and dryer had already been installed through a phone app. So they left the pedestal. Two days later, two more delivery men came. They said they were not allowed to disconnect the washer as it was already installed, and only disconnected the water line. Then they tried to pick the washer up and set it on the pedestal. They scratched my second new washer. By this time I was not about to call Lowe's delivery to ask for another one as I never wanted any delivery guys from Lowe's in my home ever again. I went out to close the garage door while the truck was still behind my garage, and they had left all the packing materials and trash from the install in my garage. That took several trips to the dumpster. Then I went back into my garage after closing the garage doors to get some chicken out of the freezer for dinner. I found my new order of chicken and beef from Rattlesnake Meat gone! Well, they did leave one pound of beef and one pound of chicken. My Natural Grocers bags were also gone. But then, how were they going to carry the meat out without bags? To Lowe's, I say, your delivery men are dangerous and will never come near my home again. Safety is an issue here. There was a splintered off piece of wood that ended in a very sharp point. It was pointing out of the side of a workers cart about waist level. My husband was walking by the cart and accidentally walked into it. I did speak with manager Jorge and he was sincerely concerned and asked twice if my husband was ok. Luckily he only had a superficial scratch but it could have been much worse. Don't know who was so incompetent about safety but they need to fix this kind of problem fast. read more

I have been to this Lowes a couple of times now. Both times where memorable. This last time, I purchased a few items including a Miter Saw that was supposed to be brand NEW. Sadly, Lowes did not sell me a new saw. It was used. Visibly and apparently USED. Dirty, dirty internal packaging, used blade, dirty cut vacuum port. This is very bad BUSINESS. Here we go...... June 1, 2023. May 19, 2023 ordered in person $2826.14 of items to be delivered, as they told me to be delivered on May 31,2023. OK. On May 31, placed multiple calls which automatically told me delivery to be between 9am and 9pm. Finally talk to a human around 2pm, can't call delivery person as is third party. Lame excuse. Delivery not made. June 1 go down there and get many Excuses, including that it is a Third Party, they needed a different truck, bla bla bla. Not my problem, I did not hire them. They did not call me on May 31. If they did, hey, we are tied up, sorry will deliver tomorrow, I could deal with that, but no one took 1 minute out of their busy day to call me. They tell me that delivery will be today but cannot tell me when, this should be a priority, but no. I do not need reasoning as to why the Third Party had to change the truck, the order was placed 13 days ago, not 13 minutes!! I tell them that I do not care about Corporate Reasoning requiring Third Party, and I do not care what color socks are being worn. Go home, wife goes down there and gets raft of excuses. Finally tells them that if not delivered in 2 hours, will get refund. She also calls Lowes Corporate, they make note of incident, get some manager a Mr. Russel on the line. We hear another excuse, by the time we hang up.....58 minutes left. 11:30 rolls around, take picture of my watch and background with no Delivery. ( not that photos are not time stamped ) 11:31 driver pulls up and calls. Go out front and tell him he is late, take it all back to the store. They have had 13 days and 2 hours to get this right and they could not. Go to Store and get Refund. Done, go to Home Depot and start getting what we needed for this Project. Oh by the way, had a run in ( more than Once ) with one of the refund desk people, name begins with J, the woman has a 'tude. As inappropriate as it would be to wear a Marajuana themed t-shirt as a car or firearms salesman, I think having 1 inch long flourescent pink hoochie mama looking fingernails working at a Hardware Store just ain't right. I tried to return a $100 lamp that was in an unopened box on June 6th, 2021. They said it was out of their 30-day return policy. It clearly was since it was purchased online in October 2020 and didn't want to return it during the pandemic. I asked to speak to a manager who proceeded to open the box and then say that it is now a clearance item and she would not give us store credit. I pointed out that if she was not going to process the return, I would cancel my $2500 washer and dryer purchase from last week, and shop for new flooring down the street at their competitor. She just said, "I understand." An absolutely horrible decision and customer service by management since it now cost them thousands of dollars in lost sales. All for a $100 item. read more

currently I am disputing charges to my credit card in reference to a very bad installation of a wood fence. The Lowes Home Improvement store in Midland contracts their work out to an incompetent known as A2Z home Remodeling. A2Z only have one guy who installs the fences and he is unprofessional and incompetent! My fence was installed a few months ago and it looks like a 10 year old fence. the pickets are coming apart, some of them are bulging in the middle and protruding forward at the top and bottom of each picket. I have complained to the management team at this Midland lowes, but, to no avail. They don't care about their product or the bad installation that I have received! Moreover, I have asked for a member of management to come out to my home to look at the fence, but, I have not heard from any member of management at that store! They have refused to refund me back the money that I have lost in this transaction with them! read more

Good lord. This store needs to inform their employees better on their tool warranties. My Kobalt ratchet wrench broke. I know it has a lifetime warranty. Cool, I'll take it to the store and get it replaced. Lowe's also calls their warranty "hassle free". Yep I won't have a problem. I went to the return desk and explained that my ratchet broke and would like it replaced. The lady questions that it has a lifetime warranty. No worries, not everybody will know that ratchets are usually covered under lifetime warranties. So we go check the same ratchet in stock, and lo and behold it states the lifetime hassle free warranty. Then she asks for a receipt. I tell her I don't have one, I bought this wrench a while ago, but these should be replaced without a receipt. Then the lady said that corporate changed the policy and we all need a receipt, even for these HASSLE FREE warranties. What does hassle free mean?? She walks over to the "boss", some dude in a cubicle and asks WE NEED A RECEIPT RIGHT? The dude was on the phone and obviously not paying attention and he just nods. "See, that's the bossman, we need a receipt sorry". I did not buy it. I called Kobalt customer services and listened to their warranty speech over the phone. Probably the third or fourth sentence in the recording is "WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE THE RECEIPT? THE ANSWER IS NO PROBLEM! TAKE IT BACK TO YOUR LOWE'S!!". Went back into the store and got a different person to help me. He absolutely did not care about my story and tried to issue me a refund on my card. I asked for a replacement instead and he allowed it. So in the end it did become "hassle free" but an apology for the crappy experience would have been nice. Congratulations Midland Lowe's, this was enough so that I won't be spending another dime on Kobalt tools again. At least not here. read more

Can't leave a zero star so it's a one. I was in yesterday, Friday the 22nd, trying to find 2x10x10 and when I did I bet 15 employees walked by never asked me a thing, never greeted me, didn't offer help. There was a young couple across the isle from me getting 4x4x16 and they didn't get spoken to either. The wife was small in stature barely able to get to or lift these boards, when I finished I offered my help but they were only after the 5 or so they had managed to load. I spoke with him about how the employees were just walking by. I'm 6' and 246, I would have been fine but they should have stopped and offered the little lady some help. We were right in front of the roll up door going outside and I kid you not I bet we saw 12 different employees and several of them several times. I worked for Lowe's in college and I know the store I worked in if you walked by someone without speaking it was a cardinal sin. Hello everyone. I'm very disappointed with Lowes in Midland Texas. Here's why. They humiliated us and discriminated us plus we were accused of stealing even though . I had the reciets. When we got to the store . We went and looked at the refrigerator . We then waited for one hour to get assistance. After that . I paid for my refrigerator . Then we waited for more time like 30 to 40 minutes again to get my refrigerator . Well we got tired of waiting to someone to assist us . So we got a big flat cart and we're loading the refrigerator on the cart . When this bitch comes . Yelling and barking you'll can't take that . Put her hands on me like pushing me . Then grabs the refrigerator and when she did that the refrigerator almost fell backwards my brother grabbed the refrigerator on time . Otherwise my refrigerator would have fallen to the floor . People started laughing including some employees . I just got my reciets and showed her. It was paid for . . This is ridiculous I spend close to a thousand dollars on this store my brother bought some things too then we get mistreated discriminated by this be thing hiding her name tag. That's not all we video taped her outside naming us Mexicans we said we are not be Mexicans . We are born and raised in Texas . It's on video she said she treats white people and Hispanics the same . This bitch is racist . Well all we wanted to do now was get our refrigerator home. So the next day I went back to Lowes and asked the other employees for her name and they said her name was Tyra I spoke to the manager he didn't do anything . So I found out that the CEO and president of the board is Marvin r Ellison . I hope he gets in contact with me . Because I want this issue resolved. What's not to like about this store? The employees are knowledgeable and go out of their way to help you. They don't make you feel like a dumb-ass when you ask stupid questions. And, the prices are reasonable. I went in today to buy a cordless circular saw. They had some on special, but I found the clearance rack and discovered a gem; a combo kit with an 18 volt drill, flashlight, circular saw, battery and charger for only $39. Given a customer service number to call and after 36 min. On hold it hangs up with no options this happened twice. Back to the store to cancel the order and get a refund of my $900.00 and even with a receipt and proof of payment they can not refund my money until they can look it up in there system which is "Broke". Ordering my double oven through this store has literally been one headache after another. And it still has not ended. I ordered my oven over 2 months ago. It has been sitting in that store for a month before I found out it was in store. I had to call them myself to ask if it was there and low and behold. And we now must wait for the installation part. Trying to pickup an online order. 1 hour later, I'm still trying. This place is poorly managed.

Ordered and paid for a refrigerator (after waiting 2 hours for help july 25th). Still waiting for delivery. Tried to to call the store and it is impossible to talk to anyone! Worst service anywhere. Customer service drops the calls after a long wait. No one either answers the phone or "just a minute," click.. I will never order from this store again. No-one seems to care. I tried several different departments several times just to see if I could get a response. In every case the department phone went unanswered. It does no good to ask customer service to speak to a manager, because the above cycle repeats itself over and over. In store the sales people do everything to advoid dealing with a customer, often walking away, or appearing to be busy but doing nothing to assist people lined up at the department desk. A really frustrating experience. I give them a one because it is the lowest I can give. They deserve a point one or less. And check out the website store reviews on customer service! I intend to copy these and send them to the district/corporate offfices as well as personally speak to the store manager (who in every case appears to be non-existent), as far as customers or employees are concerned. The reason nothing gets changed is because customers get so frustrated with poor service and waiting with no result they feel it is useless to write a negative review. I am not that person! Do not buy from Lowe's in Midland. I bought a refrigerator on line, was given 2 day delivery time and date. Did NOT deliver and now it's 10:45 am and the delivery manager is GONE TO LUNCH! The new CUSTOMER SERVICE girl says Oh We don't deliver‍‍. Can't speak to anyone who knows where this refrigerator is or when it will be delivered. The store is a complete mess with carts full of merchandise just abandoned in the middle of the isles making it impossible to find a cart of your own to actually use. Y'all need to hire Home Depot managers because they have everything running smoothly. This was an absolute cluster fu**. I couldn't even get a straight answer where to pick up online orders. First I was sent to customer service where I waited 20 before the guy allowing people in at the door told me it's on the other side of the building. Where the contractors pick up. I waited there in line. One person ahead of me. When my turn came they asked what I needed and I said to pick up an online order. I was ignored for another 20 minutes before I say " I've already paid for my 1 item, can I just get it and go? Then they decide to help me. I was called and told my order was ready. They couldn't even find it. I waited a total of 1.5 hours total. At home depot I was in and out in 15 min. I work in the medical field I know how hard it is to adjust and scary it can be, but seriously get it together. Ok so this place wasn't at all what I thought it was going to be. A buddy told me "Chris, you're incredibly strong, yet you shouldn't strain your big muscles. If you want great home improvement completed fast, on-time, and efficiently, stop by Lowe's. I went inside of Lowe's, grabbed a Powerade, and walked right back out to pick up a worker of mexican heritage. He jumped in the back of my pick-up (He tried to ride shotgun but Chad told me that they are more comfy in the truck bed so I told him to get back there just so he felt at ease) and we drove to my home. I dropped him off with the keys and decided to go get some grub. I figured that when I got home, I would be surprised like on the "home improvement" TV shows. I pulled up after about an hour and a half and my house looked normal from outside.......weird.....maybe he hasn't done it yet....walk in.....everything is as normal as ever....odd.....I DID notice that Carlito Mauricio Humberto Esteban Ortega Morales (I just figured that was his name....he didn't object to the name when I called him that) was no where in sight. He had just removed the electronics like the TV, Xbox, DVD Player, surround sound speakers and laptops. (He was about to replace them) and as I sat down and enjoyed my Sandwich (I had bought C.M.H.E.O.M. a snicker from the convenient store) I stared at the Snicker and worried about C.M.H.E.O.M......he hadn't returned. He worked so hard and didn't even return so I could pay him.....So a fellow name Jamaal to do the job....bad decision....the guy slept on my couch and complained about equality. Either way, Lowe's does NOT rennovate your home for you, and the workers are horrible. Plus, Lowe's makes them wait outside! I bought two expensive appliances and was assured I would get a gift card back by the sales person directly. I received a mailing that says it didn't qualify. Unfortunately Lowes does not train it's employees at best. But at worst they get the sale and let you deal with the headache later finding out the truth. Went to the Midlands Lowe's home improvement today on a Sunday and had the pleasure of meeting "Karen" in the home blinds department - she was so nice and friendly and willing to help me as I placed a fairly big order (0ver $700.00) as the blinds had to be cut to size she showed me the types they had and explained the differences - her knowledge was wonderful and This Midlands Lowe's should be proud to have such a wonderful sales lady and I wanted to say Thank You Karen - unlike the Odessa store you couldn't find any help as I feel this store is understaffed and uncaring in most departments and you have to go find someone - To the Odessa store I give only (1) star for just being open - Keep up the great work Midland Lowe's - everyone should buy from this store if they want to get what they need and out in a timely manner. We purchased widows over the phone for my daughter who lives 3+ hours away from Odessa and ordered 8 large windows from Lowes, she had to p.u. and drive them home. Had a few issues regarding the screens but after phones calls with manufacturer and Lowes we received the replacement. I want to thank DAN he was very helpful on the second p.u. of screens.
