A sign stated 30% off all tropicals. At the checkout, we were that informed that it was the wrong sign and proceeded to point to the one that should have been back there. This is false advertising. The clerk and her assistant did not honor the sign and were not willing to honor the sign that was up by those plants. Poor customer service. read more

The place has great environment. You can't beat the sound of running water and the view of the koi fish pond. Service it's great, quick and friendly. Unfortunately our dishes were not all there. We ordered -Spicy cheese sticks. They were real tasty. -Café steak and eggs with country potatoes. Everything was bland including the steak. No taste of salt or pepper. And you only can get scrambled eggs. Kitchen it's small. -Spinach and bacon quinche. It was ok. The dish was served with chips and fruit cup. Which I think it chips should be substituted with something else like slice of tomato with basil. Fruit cup was good. -Pineapple mimosas. Those were good too. Great selection of plants. They offer a wide selection, both of outdoor and indoor plants. You can also get a good deal if you know your plants. However, there's a large selection of plants that are unlabeled. Staff are helpful and friendly, and I have had managers offer discounts on stuff they're trying to move. Last time I was there, all their caldiums were 50% off. They get pretty picked over in the spring, and are often out of stock of certain plants, but they cycle through stuff pretty frequently. They also offer much larger specimens of many plants than anywhere else I've seen in Midland. There's large ficus, dracaena, and philodendrons, as well as enormous Texas Sage. They carry a large variety of plants, trees, shrubs and decorative items. The quality is great, but the customer service is abysmal. I waited over two years for replacement of some laurels they planted (pre-pandemic) and they never replaced a tree they planted...been 2+ years. They don't return calls or provide any reason for delays. caveat: plants are only guaranteed if they plant them, which basically doubles the cost of a tree. The restaurant is pretty, but way too hot and noisy in the greenhouse. The service is spotty and the food unpredictable. When I tipped my waitress in cash after paying for $15 lunch, she was mad that I wasn't giving her a $20 tip... I told her I needed change as it was more than the cost of my lunch. She was so surly. Everyone at the table was appalled. In conclusion, it is a great place to window shop, but a terrible place to do business. read more

After being a customer of about 20 yrs, even when they were just one large metal building and a separate greenhouse, and my living room wall full of plants bought there, they refused to take back for exchange a diseased Janet Craig plant I bought there a few months ago. none of my other plants have this disease, which is either mealy bug or white fly, so I know it was infested when I bought it. After first telling me I could bring it for them to treat and they would call me when it was safe to bring home, after I then had a friend take it out there, they said there would be a $20 charge for doing it. waste of time but they have lost my business for good. I have been looking forward to my annual spring trip to Alldredge Gardens and finally made the trip on Monday. I'm happy with the plants, but I will look somewhere else before I spend another dime here because the customer service was so awful! The young girl who rang up my several hundred dollar purchase never acknowledged me. She was too busy describing her lunch to the other ladies who were also waiting on customers -- and only talking to each other. Cold fries, cold soup, twice even after being sent back! French dip was like a piece of tough rubber shoe. Crab cakes were fishy. Sad part is this used to be one of the best places in Midland, esp for ambiance. Just discovered this place last week when my sister was visiting from CA. Such a cute atmosphere, our server (I believe Mari) was her name was great and attentive. Went back today and omg!! Service was horrible!! We waited about 30 mins for our drinks! Appetizer came out before our drinks! We watched our server Bianca, serve others that were seated after us before she brought our drinks! Once our food came, she never came back until it was time to clear our plates! I had to get up to get our napkins, checks, and to go boxes! I waitressed for years and can understand when it's busy, but we got there at 11:30 right before the lunch rush! It should not have taken an hour and a half for lunch! I can't deny that the food is delicious though! They just need to train in customer service! read more

This review is for the Cafe. This place was a welcome reprieve from the vast nothingness that is Midland. It was a nice spot to grab some lunch amidst the plants. Let's get to the food. I had a Cuban panini and sweet potato fries (tasty) and the chocolate explosion dessert (yummy!) The place was packed so service was slow. With the amount of babies I saw that day, I was surprised to find out that they didn't have a changing table. I really don't like to write negative reviews, but when I had such a bad experience I felt compelled to. We eat at the café on the Gardens all the time. The food isn't always the best but the atmosphere and the fish are very inviting to our family. My three-year-old and my one year-old absolutely love to sit and eat with the fish. Today my daughters and I decided to have a girls lunch date at the Café at the gardens. I should've known when we sat down And it took 15 minutes to get somebody to bring us menus and take our drink order that our lunch was going to be bad. I almost walked out but then the waitress came over and brought us drinks and menus. After another 10 minutes our waitress took our order. We ordered our meals and an appetizer. The appetizer came out within 15 minutes which was great. About 30 minutes after that the waitress came and said our food was just about out. Another 20 minutes past and the manager came out and said our food was just about out. She also went on to explain that due to a large Texas-to-go order the kitchen was backed up. Another 15 minutes goes by and no sign of our food. I asked another waitress and she says our food is in the window. We waited for approximately 10 minutes when I saw three different tables get their food. These were tables that came 30-40 minutes after me and my daughters. This was when I approached our waitress and said that we wanted to pay for our appetizer and leave. The manager kept saying "I'm sorry I'm so sorry" but didn't offer to even comp ours $7 sweet potato fries. Due to this poor customer service experience we will never eat at the Cafe at the Gardens again. If you've ever eaten with a three-year-old and a one-year-old you know how hard it is for them to wait to eat...much less waiting almost 2 hours. Their food should've been priority! read more

Be weary of this place. We paid for a yard and a half of granite and was told to pull our truck around back and someone would be there to help us. We waited over 30 minutes and finally called to ask where someone was. We were told someone was on there way out to help us. We waited another 15 minutes and called again. The lady who answered to phone was rude and said we could just come get our money back. That's what we did and came Skully Stone instead. And the prices are wayyyu better at Skully Stone anyway. We go to Alldredge for all our home care needs. We have bought 3 trees for the yard, pavers, peat moss, and other random equipment and lawn/tree/shrubbry treatments. We were having an issue with our grass dying off in one patch of our yard and was spreading. We talked to their specialists and they set us up with a treatment plan we did ourselves and had the issue under control and growing back new green grass in 1-2 weeks! Their staff has always been very friendly and helpful and we will keep coming back! read more

Good selection of product, and they don't stock up before the weather will actually support the plants in your yard. If they don't have it yet, it's not time, just trust them. And the cafe is pretty good, with new daily items to try. read more

We had Alldredge come out to mow our lawn. HUGE mistake. Our house sits on 0.3 acres and the majority of that is the house. Our bill was $303.00 with tax. I am still in shock over this! Plus you would think for that price you would get great service...totally not the case. We had patches in our yard where they missed, the edging was only done in certain spots and they didn't blow any of it off. We called to complain. Long story short, they had to make several trips out and the yard still wasn't neat. read more

I would not recommend Alldredge Gardens for their water services because they do not value their customers or the customer's time. We've made two appointments with them to repair our sprinkler system; they 'no called no showed' both times. I called and left a message, and they have not called back.
