I knew the problem I wanted to solve when I stopped in today but I didn't know the best option for fixing it. I spent about 20 minutes walking the aisles to find the right solution, considering this and that before finally finding the perfect option. Several associates offered to help as I did look like I was wandering a bit. They were definitely helpful but I wanted to work this one out on my own. This is my go to store for hardware, gardening, and other home improvement items. It is a large store, with an even larger parking lot. It is dog friendly which I personally dont particularly care for as there are many people in my area that have service dogs. When pets interact with service dogs, the dogs may miss an alert. My only true complaint is that sometimes it is hard to find a knowledgeable employee about a section. Theres always employees to be found, but unfortunately net necessarily associated to the section you are needing. For example, if you are in the tool section, there might be 3 available employees, but one may be from plumbing, one from general stocking, and one may be from lumber. Although, they do a good job of trying to get the person you need. I recently went to buy a lamp and walked out with a lamp, and glass light board that you can write on and a cute little LED light. The lowes brand, style selections, many times has great items. I got a little LED unicorn light and never imagined it would be as adorable as it is. The best part, to chang the color, you tap its nose, or as my son would say, boop its snoot. read more

The bathrooms are awful. Spell like they haven't been cleaned in a month of sundays. You almost gag when you walk in them. Surely the manager can get someone to do a cleaning once in a while. Awful!!! Surprised a business can operate like this!! read more

If zero stars were an option it would be on there. Ordered a washer and dryer for next day delivery and the "truck broke down", so there were numerous two hour delays. My wife took off the entire day of work to stay home and make sure we got our order. I get on the phone with customer service 910-945-6262 and they were rude and said "Then just cancel your order". So I go down to the store to cancel my order and it turns out the in-store employee that we bought the washer and dryer from actually just put two washers on the order anyways. The manager refused to do anything about it so I'm still currently waiting on getting my money back from the order. Safe to say we are a Home Depot family now. Avoid ordering anything from this store at all costs. This is not the first time something like this has happened to us but it is certainly the last. read more

bought a triangle patio heater had to return it because it was missing parts then Bought a another patio heater December 24 would heat about 15 min then quit. have the reci and they won't return or exchange it...awful customer service. cant buy with confidence at this particular lowes. just make the trip to porters neck location. or better yet use ACE hardware THEY HAVE EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE there. read more

Great customer service from Breanna. She helped me get checked out and then helped with getting everything loaded in my car afterwards. I had my two toddlers and infant with me so I really appreciated her taking the time to help me load the 5 gallon paint buckets and then taking my cart so I could get the kids buckled. read more

I often shop at Lowe's and the employees and experience there have been great but Karen is top notch. The last couple times I have been in there sizing screws, she is busy but will stop what she is doing to help me and is so patient, kind, and knowledgeable. Actually this is a NO star. Went in on Thursday and purchased a Bosch dishwasher. Salesmen informed me it would be delivered AND installed on Saturday. I went over the sale several times with the young salesman and was told 3 times that my dishwasher would be installed at time of delivery. Absolutely NO confusion on my part, my questions were precise and clear. Dishwasher was delivered on Saturday but I had to refuse delivery because the delivery guy said it would not be installed by him "cause I'm not a plumber". What the hell Lowes? Tried to call the store for 20 minutes..no answer or when I was transferred I got hung up on. Answer your phones or not...doesn't matter because I won't be coming back. read more

Lowes has charged me THREE times for the same online order & had me drive there for pickup, but the tool I needed & was informed was waiting for me was NOT there. I am disabled & drive little & walk even less, so arrangements were made (after a LOT of time on hold + all the time waiting in the parking lot) for my tool & an accessory that were delayed were to be shipped to me at no charge whenever they finally arrived. Now I am being bugged by email to pick up those missing items. I spoke to a mgr, John, who did not understand why I was triple charged, but told me I would now be charged for delivery of the missing items. Oh, & no refund for extra times I was charged. Evidently Lowes doesn't want my business, & I am stuck with accessories, but no tool for them. A pox on Lowes! read more

Lowe's Blows. ACE is the Place...!! I invested a large amount of money into downspout drainage systems made by stealth kit purchased at Lowe's in Surf City. Hundreds of dollars were spent and I had a piece of plastic that somehow wore out that broke, right where the downspout connected When I went to the store to buy a new one I realized They didn't have any in stock But they seem to have smaller ones in stock when I asked Chris about this he said he wasn't sure maybe the larger ones were over in lawn and Garden. I ask him if he can run the stock number and he did very reluctantly He said I don't think we have any but they may be some over in lawn and garden or over in the plumbing section 2 opposite corners of the store. He then very reluctantly volunteered to go with me and look and then realized that they don't carry that size anymore they now carry the smaller size ONLY..!! I went to Ace Hardware they didn't have it in stock either but THE GUY there looked it up on the computer and ordered it for me. read more

Wow!! I came here to buy a washing machine and dryer set with 2 pedestals. I was working with a sales person and they were totally hung ho. So I wanted to know if I can have it sent on a certain day and then asked me what city. I told them that it wasn't local and they told me to go back to your local Lowe's or go online. Hhhmm. I'm so confused. They said they are NOT allowed to order appliances to be delivered if it was local. An hour later, I called the store and asked customer service about this policy. The man told me it depends on the store and employee. I asked him to elaborate and he said just exactly what he said. I asked if the employee would have the choice to do it or send me away and do it online myself or go to the local Lowe's closer to me. The customer service again didn't know how to explain why and how the associate can choose to do the transaction or turn them away. This "so callled policy" is inconsistent apparently across the company. Oh well... I guess I'll take my business to the competitor....Home Depot or Best Buy!! This store was wonderful to work with when purchasing a refrigerator and washer and dryer for our new house. The refrigerator was on sale when we looked at the choices. We were worried about placing the order as we hadn't closed on the home purchase and didn't want to be stuck with a refrigerator if the purchase fill through for some reason. Since the store was having to order the color and style refrigerator we wanted we had a nice conversation with the Manager at the service desk. He explained as long as we hadn't taken delivery on the item the refrigerator would go into the stores stock if the house fell through. WOW, that's a relief. The day after we closed on the house we went back to purchase a washer and dryer. Once again we found the items we wanted were on sale. The next hurdle was getting the military discount on the purchase. The military member was out of the area and would not be available to present the appropriate ids for two weeks. Once again no problem. We were told to make the purchase and bring in the receipt within 30 days to provide a 10% adjustment on the price. WOW, we can do that. We arranged to have all three appliances delivered on the same day. Lowes was very easy to work with on setting a day that worked well with our schedules. The delivery guys carefully set up all the appliances, removed any trace of packaging, and tested out the washer. About an hour after they left I heard the constant running of water. I opened the laundry room door to find a continual slow dribble in the washer. We called the store and they sent the same team of delivery guys back out. They did a number of checks to see if they could cure the problem without success. They proclaimed there was a factory defect and hauled off the washer. Now here's where the story gets to the five star amazing point. We were scheduled to leave the area the following day and would not be back for an extended period. The delivery guys contacted the store management and located the washer in stock at a store within 50 miles. If we agreed to stay around the following morning they were going to pick up the washer from the other store and install it in our house. WOW, WOW, WOW! You guys rock! Thanks Lowes for the wonderful customer experience. We'll be customers for years to come. read more

I have never in my life had this bad of an experience somewhere. All I was doing was getting paint and dear baby Jesus! This whippersnapper getting my dang paint must've been color blind. I asked to color match a color on my phone which was clearly BLUE and not only once, not twice, but THREE TIMES did this boy give me a can of PURPLE PAINT! And, he was lookin at me like I was the incompetent one! So rude. Then, as I was scanning my ID, how dare I scan the wrong bar code because miss attitude came marching over to snatch my card out of my hand and tell me how to do it. As I was trying to exit the store some women looking about as old as Miss Betty White herself stood in front of my cart and continued to ask me about a million questions; she was an employe!! I am very disappointed. I will go to Home Depot next time I need something like this. Hopefully their employees didn't get their common sense and color identification knowledge from the dollar store. read more

I've been here a few times and always leave with what I needed. Today we stopped in for some new LED bulbs and to ask about installation service for a storm door and shower door. Finding the bulbs was very easy and surprisingly cheaper than I expected. Bonus! We also found the sliding style shower door we liked. Asked some questions about installation service and we were pleased with the answers and the assistance provided by the customer service representative. We then ventured over to the storm door department to search for a storm door and inquire about installation services. The customer service representative here was also very helpful and answered all of our questions. Always a great experience at this Lowes location. read more

I go to this Lowe's very regularly and I do A LOT of paint purchasing here. Most of the time I am color matching, so it is imperative that the match is good. There is a gentleman named Rene that works in the paint department and he is a MASTER of color matching! You might think that a good sample and the computer do the work, but that is not the case. I work from Wilmington to Hubert and I buy paint at all the Lowe's and Home Depot's in between and I can tell you Rene is the man!!! read more

I would give zero stars if that was an option. I just spent thousands of dollars on a kitchen remodel and purchased my quartz countertops through Lowes. When they were installed the installation team somehow managed to tear one of my lower cabinets away from the wall. These cabinets were just refinished and my walls had recently been painted so when it tore the cabinet away the paint chipped on both the wall and the cabinet. I have an open concept home and this is the first cabinet you see walking into the kitchen so it is very visible. When I contacted Lowes and their installation team I was told by both that they were not responsible for damages and that I would have to pay out-of-pocket to have it fixed. Once he returned to tell me the last one had sold earlier, I carried on with my shopping only to have him return to me with a list of 3 other Lowes in Jacksonville and Wilmington that her found did have the light-post in stock and how many at each store. If I had left this store after I dealt with a rude woman at the return counter who would only issue me a store credit for my $10.69 because my receipt had been wet so the ink had run and it was from the College rd. store this review would have been a one star. But, I needed some funguscide for my hydrangea's, so I go to the lawn department and was ready to give up looking thru the bottles when a young employee named Nolan approached wanting to help me. As soon as I said hydrangea he immediately knew that I had black and brown spots on the leaves and showed me 2 products to choose from and the the virtues of each. He then asked if there was anything else and I said furnace filters and he escorts me to that department. The difference between the 2 employees was like night and day. read more

I hate everything about this store. If Home Depot wasn't an hour away I would never step foot in Lowes. The inventory isn't bad but the staff is horrible. Most of them ignore you when you walk past. Then other staff members are mad when you ask them questions pertaining to their job. There are a hand full of good staff. On more than one occasion someone from out side the section has helped me, I just want to spend my money guys. The only reason this place is still in business is because there is no real direct competition near this location. I have found Mom and Pop stores to help get what I need most of but unfortunately I have to go in this deplorable place. I've reached out to corporate Lowes in the past but nothing has improved. I love this store. Always clean and easy to find what I'm looking for. If I have ever had trouble finding anything I have always been able to find an associate to help me out. My wife and I just purchased a washer from here and loved the service from the appliance department. They answered all of my questions, there were a lot. This was the home store although the sales representative was from Jacksonville. We contracted for fence purchase and installation. Other than the third party installers, who were fantastic, EVERYTHING else about this experience was a nightmare. Every person dealt with at the store, corporate, and the salesman, continuously lied and failed to keep any promise about timing, call backs, and every detail about the process. A two day install became a one month project. Only calling in the help of the dispute resolution for the credit card company ultimately got us some help. If I could rate this no stars I would. I feel bad that the installers suffered as they are not paid until the project is finished and all the errors made by the sales representative Billy Alexander as well as manager of this store caused the delays. When the last piece of fencing was finally delivered the installers were here immediately to finish. We will never deal with this store again! read more
