As I walked out of Lowes, I was convinced this was a three star outfit, but maybe four. OK, three and a half. Yelp doesn't allow half-stars but being an eternal optimist, I choose to round up. This explains a great deal about my nervous system than it does about this Lowes, though this Lowes deserves some credit too. Or blame. I'm still sorting that out in a small notebook I keep for this exact purpose. This is the possessive case Lowe's with hammers, not the Lowes with rotisserie chickens. They're not the same building, not even on the same side of the road or the same side of town, though emotionally, to me, they merged into one years ago, the way my aunt and her sister became the same person sometime after 1987. If you walk into this Lowe's looking for a rotisserie chicken, that's a you problem. It's also, weirdly, a problem I have had personally, more than once, and I'm not proud of it, but I'm also not going to pretend it didn't happen, because pretending things didn't happen is how my family ended up the way it did. There's a smell in the lumber aisle, somewhere between pencil shavings and a campfire that has made a series of bad decisions, and it's the exact smell of my father's garage in 1991, the same year he tried to build a deck and instead built what the county later described, in writing, as "a hazard." I stood in that aisle for eleven minutes breathing it in like a man at a wine tasting, until an employee named Daryl asked if I needed help finding anything. I told him no, I'm just visiting, the way you'd say it at a hospital. This is also similar to an aisle in a separate Lowe's just outside Chicago (assuming you'd say Anderson was just outside Chicago) where my girlfriend broke up with me over the phone in 2009, while I was holding a tube of caulk in each hand like a gunslinger. That's a detail I have never told anyone, including my therapist, who I am now telling by way of this Yelp review, which she will probably never read, unless she also needed lumber, which, statistically, given the neighborhood, she might have. On this visit, in the cabinetry department, between the navy shaker cabinets and a display kitchen nobody has ever cooked in, a man in cargo shorts was training a dog, an Australian Shepherd named, I believe, Gordon, using a clicker and small pieces of hot dog. This was not a Lowe's event. No sign, no banner, just a man, a dog, a clicker, and a folding chair he'd brought from home, possibly in his own car, possibly on the bus, I didn't ask. He had Gordon holding a "stay" next to the lazy susan demo while a woman in scrubs filmed it on her phone for reasons that remained unclear to me and possibly to her. A piece of hot dog rolled into a soft-close drawer track and nobody, including Gordon, seemed bothered by this. I watched for nineteen minutes and didn't buy any cabinets. I left with a new appreciation for soft-close drawer tracks, and a faint, lingering sadness, the kind you get at the weddings you're invited to of people you don't really know. At checkout, a different employee, not Daryl, asked if I'd found everything I was looking for. I said, more or less, that I had found things I wasn't looking for, which is true of most of my visits to most stores, and arguably my whole life. He handed me a flyer for a rotisserie chicken sale, from the other Lowes, the one with the chickens, the one that has never once broken up with me over the phone. I have mixed feeling about my rating, but went on the high side for the lumber smell, the caulk, the dog, and whatever Daryl is going through right now, because it looked like a lot. read more

Customer service is nonexistent and many items that show they are in stock or not.. The Greenville store called over to the Greer store to verify the outdoor lights we wanted were in stock. We drove all the way over and after getting studiously ignored by two "pros" we finally had one person get a forklift and they were none available at all. I used to shop at Lowe's exclusively for home improvement projects. That ends today. Over the course of five weeks, I tried to have a single pre-hung exterior door installed -- and Lowe's managed to fail at nearly every step, from scheduling to communication to contractor reliability. The installer no-showed on June 26, despite Lowe's confirming the appointment eleven times. I rearranged my work and life schedule for it. No apology. No explanation. No manager callback as promised. I went in person to the store the next day and canceled the order. I then spoke with the store manager, and was reassured by multiple Lowe's staff (including a district installation manager) that this new job would be prioritized. It wasn't. Days passed. Then weeks. Then a second contractor was assigned -- who also never contacted me, despite multiple deadlines and internal escalations. I was told (on a recorded call) the new installer would contact me "today." That never happened. Just like every other promise from Lowe's. Meanwhile, Lowe's Installation Support tried insisting my door "wasn't at the store" -- despite store staff confirming it was, and had been for over a week. The left hand clearly has no idea what the right hand is doing. I finally canceled the order (the second failed attempt to have the door installed by Lowe's, mind you), returned all related items, and closed the Lowe's credit card I had just opened to finance the project. That's how completely this pathetic yet absolutely preventable fiasco eroded my trust. Lowe's didn't just lose a customer. It earned my contempt -- and my obligation to warn others. read more

This is a review of the appliance and plumbing company that Lowes contracts to install and make home repairs, Reliable Services, USA. But because this company partners with Lowes, it reflects badly on Lowes as well for choosing them. I had a natural gas water heater that failed after 20 years and opted to replace it with a tankless version. I contacted Lowes and they sent a Reliable Services, USA estimate team to look at the project. It was supposed to be a turnkey project where the Reliable Services, USA team would purchase through Lowes and do the installation work. The estimate went pretty well, and the estimator was fairly knowledgeable. The price was agreeable and fair to me, so I decided to contract them for the job. That's where it went bad. I tried calling the company first thing on Monday morning to set up a schedule for the work and was not able to talk to a live person to get this started. More than 6 hours was spent trying with multiple calls and the best I could do was leave a voice mail to be called back. On one of the final attempts the system gave me a chance to be called back (which was not available earlier) and I did get called back. However, the person that called back was not in the plumbing department so they transferred me where I was put on hold for a long time. I finally just gave up when nobody picked up. The job was a nearly $6k project but this company did not appear interested in it after providing an estimate. If this was the case, they never should have sent estimators to my home to waste my time. I will be avoiding Lowes for any home improvement project where they contract this company to do the work in the future. read more

Customer service is zero now. I spend a lot of money with them and they wouldn't give me store credit for 2 trees that died. I didn't have the receipt but it's because I had the tree several months. I could prove I purchased them with date stamped photos of purchasing in the store and detailed bank receipt. They posted on my review to call corporate about the situation and still refused to help me. They refused to help me over a $95 sale. I've already spent $1000 at Home Depot since....not that they care. I will absolutely never spend another penny in this store ever again. read more

Saturday June 6th we drove 7 miles across town to got to this Lowes even though the Lowes on Woodruff road is 2 miles away. But it is on Woodruff Road. This parking lot was packed. We barely found one spot. There were some opportunities for call ahead orders for those social distancing to the extreme. The set up is to drive to one of their pick up parking spots, call a number to advise of your arrival and they will bring the order to your numbered space, minimal contact. But the rest of the folks were milling about as if we didn't have a global pandemic barely in the rear view mirror. i was just a little surprised at how crowded it was. We spent most of our time in the lawn and garden area. The check out line was appropriately marked for social distancing and most were observing that, but only about 10% of the people had on masks and that included all staff. read more

My wife and I went to Lowes in Greer because we needed to replace the washer and drier and outdoor grill at our Lake house in Anderson County. We were not sure what we wanted when an employee asked if he could help. His name is Stephen Jaworski. We had many questions about the different brands of washers and dryers and he was very knowledgeable about each one. He wrote up the whole order and set up the delivery that we requested. The next morning we realized that the grill we had selected was too small. Hisey saying that the store mgr will give me a call FIRST THING MONDAY AM. Waited and no calls received.....this is after almost 2 weeks since the window measurement now 10/10/23. I placed another call and the CS girls said the same thing no record of Ms. B. Hisey, but gave me the name of Brandon one of the store manager who she said will call me after 12noon 10/10/23 when he gets in. Seems like NO ONE REALLY CARE. Purchased an expensive refrigerator from this location for a brand new home. When it was delivered the delivery guys hit the front door with the refrigerator and damaged the door. No apologies and no word back from Lowes after many attempts of trying to reach someone. It doesn't stop there.. their "setup" is a disgrace. They could not get the refrigerator level (after 3 minutes of attempting) and said the floors must be uneven in the BRAND NEW home. They suggested putting something under the corner to keep it from wobbling. I had to fix this myself. They left lots of trash from the delivery and said that was my responsibility even though they're supposed to cleanup. The entire experience was terrible. I have been a Lowes customer for many years and have always been very pleased until this last issue. I purchased three peel and stick tile samples from a Lowes store in FL. We chose the pattern we liked and purchased several hundred dollars of this tile at our local Lowes in Greer, SC. All I wanted to do was return the two tile samples we didn't need for a total of about $20. The local Lowes refused to return the product because they don't stock the same tile. Do they expect me to drive back to FL? I have called the Lowes Corporate offices four times for assistance and they keep sending me back to the local store. After numerous calls and conversations, I will no longer seek reimbursement but I will think twice before purchasing from Lowes again. I called in a $9000.00 lumber order in yesterday and this am they said I could pick it up. I arrived this afternoon and waited 1 and 1/2 hours and still did not have it loaded. I asked for a refund and they processed just $3500.00 of the $9000 as a credit and stated that they had a computer problem and they would work on it and perhaps I could get the full refund tomorrow. NO ONLY CAN'T THEY FILL AN ORDER THEY CANNOT EVEN GIVE A REFUND. If I don't get my refund tomorrow they will be sued. BEWARE OF THIS STORE ! read more

Lowe's Home Improvement is a fine store with a helpful staff, but I have to say that they need to do a better job at this location of encouraging/cajoling customers to wear the frigging masks. Easily half of the clientele were wandering about in the store maskless, and I know that the employees aren't paid enough to deal with the Deniers, the Karens, the Chads, and the ToughGuys, but dang folks. Pat in appliances is amazing! We kind, knowledgeable, and most importantly quick to the point. He helped me pick out my fridge, washer, and drier they were perfect. He even suggested a top loader because they were more durable. I needed the appliances quick and I checked four different stores in the area. Lowes was fast, easy, and delivery went smooth. Called the Flooring Department of the Greer store location on Wade Hampton Blvd 5 times total on 3 different days to ask a simple question about carpet installation. Same result. The phone rings and when someone picks up they don't even answer, just put the phone back down on the receiver to end the call. When I have been in the store, they either can't be found or scurry away like roaches when they see you coming. I could understand if the store were understaffed but that doesn't appear to be the problem. Someone should consider better employee training or adding an option to leave a message for this department so someone can call back. The paint department employees are awesome...maybe you should cross train them on flooring. read more

It's been a nightmare! We purchased a cook top and sink from them. Tried to have them do laminate countertops. Just cut and install as we were doing demo. It took weeks to get an awful product that was cut wrong. After being told they were going to install we did demo only to be told they were not. We are now without counters, sink and cook top for probably weeks. The manager will tell you he will call you back and WILL NOT. I gave him all the names of the people I spoke with in his store and all he can say is, they don't work here, must have been corporate. Please save yourself the trouble and go ANYWHERE else. I am writing this review in parking lot. Went in to buy 4x8 Sheetrock (4 pcs) Couldn't find any useable carts, asked a associate in the dept. store if I paid for it would he help me carry to truck. He said "yes", so I went to pay for the material and I could find him. After looking I found two gentlemen on a fork lift they couldn't help because they were already loading orders. Had no choice but to get a refund and go across the street. The frustrating thing to me is I just spent a lot of money the night before and over the course of this week. That doesn't mean I get special attention, but since the new store manager has taken over customer service has gone down. I know the absence of my business won't be noticed, but I would encourage management to take notice of their policy's. read more

First time at a Lowes were the employees actually make sure you do not need help. Most of my Lowes experiences in Florida have no comparison to this Lowes. I was greeted at every corner and asked about 10 times if they could assist me in my shopping experience. This is nice because I normally do not like to hunt people down and ask them for help; but instead I wander the aisles like a lost soul. The prices are comparable to the other store across the street. I have gotten several big items here and the employees are more than helpful loading it onto my cart or locating the item. My suggestion, don't buy any appliances or other major purchases using the Lowes Store credit card. I have regretted this from day one! I had a damaged new refrigerator returned and purchased it with 12 monthly payments with no interest. Major headache has occurred! I purchased a replacement refrigerator and now No One can straighten out my credit card. I am talking 8 phone calls and even the credit card (i.e. Sychrony Bank Lowes Credit) or the store manager can straighten it out! Basically, I am paying a monthly payment for Both refrigerators! I have asked at Synchrony to talk with a supervisor and more than once I was told, "my system is not working correctly, and I cannot transfer you to a supervisor." So please don.t use or buy major purchases on Lowe's Credit. Even the store manager said, yes we goofed on your return! Maybe in a "few months" it will be corrected! read more

I ordered a Refrigerator on line back on February 26. It was to be delivered today March 27. I called yesterday to see if all was going to come today. I was told yes. So I called the person that purchased my old one and they came and got it. Now living out of a cooler. Today the local store says that it will not come into the store until tomorrow. Discounted enough and they will not do more. PLEASE DONT SHOP AT LOWES. They will make promises they can't deliver...... also loosing food and a days work. Horrible experience two days in a row. Place your order online, then let the fun begin. You go from place to place, finally get the paperwork from the pickup desk, carry it to lumber for pickup, then checkout person says you need to go to pickup. Then you have to find someone to pull your order. Wasn't it supposed to be pulled when I got the email saying it was pulled? I try to use Lowe's but I'm going back to Home Depot to see if they can screw this up. It would be quicker for me to pull my own order! read more

We decided to have some of our flooring re-carpeted and contacted Lowe's to do the job. After selecting our carpet, we waited and waited and waited. Finally got an installation date. They were supposed to arrive at 8AM. At 10 my wife called to see where they were. Now we are told between 11 and 1230. At 1PM, we call back. Now the time is 2 PM. Finally arrived around 230. We showed them where the carpet was supposed to go. The lead installed claimed he didn't know anything about doing the second room (loft and stairs). He got on the phone and had an argument with someone over him not getting all the information. Then he proceeded to argue about having to be paid extra to move our furniture and to lay the berber carpet on our stairs and loft. Probably not a good thing to do in front of your customer. Didn't leave us with a warm and fuzzy feeling about the whole thing. When asked how long the two rooms would take, he said about 4 hours. Well around 630 they finished the bedroom. Since we didn't want to feed them dinner, I asked when they could come back. After much discussion and phone calls, they finally agree to return in two days. So we had to live in a messed up home for a couple more days while waiting on them. When they finished, they left us with a small piece of carpet from the bedroom, and a 9X12' piece of carpet from the loft. Claimed so much was left over because of his expert installing. Went to Lowes to try to get some money back on this 9X12 piece of carpet. After 30 minutes, no luck. The manager would not accept that Maybe, just Maybe somebody mis-measured our home and that's why we have so much left over. Nope, not going to do anything about it. Very unhappy with Lowes. Customer service is terrible. Between all the problems the first day in arriving then taking an extra day to install, the left over carpet.....nope, never again. read more

I have had to hunt someone down the last three visits. There used to be enough assistance walking around, so I would not have to do this. Would rather go to Home Depot. I was looking for someone who works in lumber. Obviously seeing that they are short staffed and the lumber section looks horrendous. I finally find someone and ask if they could cut a piece of wood for me. I was then told that the saw was down and that I would have better luck cutting it myself. As I went to find my husband to tell him what happened another customer asked an employee for their wood cut and they went and did it. You would think Lowe's would hire employees who did there job and didn't lie to customers because they are too lazy. I think I recall the employees name being Hayden. This is the second time a double oven has been delivered damaged. I'm still waiting on the third one to arrive and I bought it in early November 2018! When I complained to appliance manager, he just said "well we have no control over shipment". I think quality control manager of Lowe's Corporation needs to look into this. read more

I called to report to employees using drugs and having a relationship during work, the HR Manager hung up on my, so I called the corporate office and they sent a report to lowes of Greer,sc. Twenty minutes later I received a phone call from the store manager Gary saying that they could not drug test just upon me reporting them. So Lowes is not a drug free company they just claim to be. An employee can come into work high, get high on drugs during lunch and they dont care, because even when a complaint is made they do nothing except protect the employees violating their "code of conduct" a contract the employee had to sign....Lowe's is a joke and so are their company policies. read more

Ordered a patio door. Three weeks later it came in. Picked it up...brought it home and it's the wrong size! Had to make it work because we had already torn the old out. Went and told Lowe's they were apologetic and reordered another door. They also threw in free delivery. It arrived three weeks later, (now six weeks invested) and it was the right size, wrong style. They again apologized and reordered. Three weeks later they called and said my door was in and wanted to deliver it. ( nine weeks invested!) I told them I will come to the store and make sure it was the correct door before it is delivered. I did and it wasn't! It was the same as the last door...right size/wrong style. They told me they will again reorder. In the meantime they have my money and I had nothing to show for it so I contacted my CC company and explained the situation. They gave me my credit for the door. Waited three more weeks, (Now three MONTHS invested!) had not heard from them so I called. Was told by the Asst Mgr that since I got my money back they could not reorder. I told him to forget it and I will call when he can come pick up Lowe's first mistake! I will not ever get anything that has to be "special ordered" from Lowe's again and since there is a Home Depot right across Wade Hampton, I'll probably just shop there for everything. read more
