I don't have a truck and as in seasons before planned to make multiple trips to get everything home. While on my way home from the first trip I got 3 back to back notifications from my bank that Lowe's Boiling Springs SC had tried to run through the full amount for the mulch again! I had paid in full! I immediately called from the car and was put on hold for almost 30 minutes! I hung up and called back. I was fuming by now, but I kept my cool. A nice young lady named Dominique answered and wanted to help. I told her that I was returning to get the rest of the mulch and she said she would handle the situation. When I got there someone in Customer Service had canceled the mulch part of my large order and I was told that in order to get the mulch I would need to pay for it! AGAIN!! They assured me that the amount paid for the mulch would be returned to my bank and that they really didn't understand what had happened. I have dealt with this store for decades and had TRUST in them. I paid with the understanding that money I had already paid for the mulch was on it's way back to my bank. Bottom line I paid twice for the mulch and will never do business with them again! I have screenshots of the original order and bank payment to them, and Dominique printed everything she was seeing on her end, and I thank her for seeing the problem, but she couldn't fix it. I will be taking this up with corporate and will continue to spread the word on them. He gave it a high rating and I've got some Crabgrass to deal with soon. They didn't have any at all. A store associate told me a grass cutting crew came in yesterday and bought the last two full pallets of this stuff and what few loose bags that were on the floor space. He didn't know if anymore was coming soon or not.I was dying of thirst for a nice cool drink of water as I was about to exit this Lowe's. Please see my picture of their water fountain. I wouldn't let my dog drink water from this filthy and disgusting thing; much less me!

They had issues related to a mill being stolen but I was willing to wait because they're a small, local company. So Jared says my slab is set to be cut first week of May and he contacted me May 3rd to verify measurements and he says they're getting ready to cut it. That's the last contact Jared had with me. I recommended to my family to go to hilltop for an unrelated wood project. While they were at hilltop in early July, they asked about the status of my wood slab and were told "yeah, we couldn't do that". That was the entire explanation. I never heard from Jared. Horrible customer service and honestly would never do business with them. I'd still be waiting if family members hadn't happened to ask while they were there. Do yourself a favor and go to Asheville Hardware instead, I walked in and had my pick of over 100 slabs, got one for cheaper than hilltop quoted me and had it in my garage that same day. So hilltop took 6 months and I got no slab. Asheville Hardware, I had a slab in my truck within an hour. The owner of hilltop left me a voicemail after I contacted them. Apparently he had no idea any of the issues with my order or the customer service I received which isn't a good sign for an extremely small business.

My first time in here and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was so well stocked! I didn't see a single empty shelf. What I did see were essential items at what I consider to be discount prices! Granted a lot of the tool items seemed to have generic names that I'm not familiar with but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Customer flow is large today with so many people coming in and going out. A good sign: Most people leaving today were carrying purchases to their cars! It's a new place and a popular one!
