I get frustrated every time I go to Lowes. Besides sky high prices, the service and competence is non-existent. I worked in hardware for over 10 years and friendly service was always top priority. Today, I spent a lot of time, combing through the hardware to find the right fasteners that I needed for my project. When I went to check out, the lady at the register said that the considerate thing for me to do would be for me to provide all the stock numbers for the hardware. In my opinion, I'm the paying customer and the employees of Lowes should be happy that I chose their store to shop at. They shouldn't put an employee who is going to struggle to ring loose hardware up at the register. On another point, why does Lowes want to scan my drivers license when I show them my military ID for a military discount? They give me trouble and tell me they can't give me the discount without it but then turn around, push a few buttons and verify my military ID. Lowes has no business with my drivers license. I think I can speak for most men and some women, that it used to be fun to go to the hardware store and do a little impulse buying but Lowes has gotten so greedy that I now buy ONLY what I need and am quick to return anything I don't use, doesn't satisfy me 100% or I find cheaper somewhere else. As a matter of fact, I always check Amazon and compare prices right there in the store. Not a happy customer! read more

Rita at the cashier need to learn how to speak to a customer. Very condescending to my husband . It's bad enough that we have to do the checking out ourselves nowadays,but you don't have to talk to us like that when we scan the wrong barcode on the paint can. Either you come and help or or have the cashier to do their job. read more

FESTUS LOWE'S SUPPORTS OUR LOCAL VETERANS and they do so continually by donating tons of merchandise weekly to Midwest Veterans Outreach in Park Hills MO. This act of kindness reaches further than they may realize. You see, the cabinets, tools, fixtures, tile and outdoor furniture that is donated is sold for a fraction of retail to our community. 100% of the proceeds goes back into helping our community- and veterans are having their needs met every day because of this generosity! Things like buying an A/C for a disabled vet, getting medical supplies that aren't covered by insurance, and transportation to medical appointments. Even buying food, help with utilities... Midwest Veterans Outreach provides what's needed because of the support from Festus Lowe's. I live near Farmington Lowe's, but I support the Festus store for this reason. warning! don't shop the clearance section if you're trying to find the right item for a home renovation project unless you're sure it will work! They have recently changed their return policy and you can no longer return clearance items. This is totally unexpected for a big box store and there should be appropriate signage in place. Any good feelings I have had towards Lowe's are suddenly less now that I have a couple of items I just purchased two days ago, new in the box, but I can't return because after bringing them home we learned they did not work in our space. read more

I've had 3 major install projects with Lowe's over the past year and each one has been a major pain-in-the-ass to work with Lowe's. The latest one is that they will install my tile but not put Kilz on the floor before laying the carpet - I have to do that myself! On the last flooring project, they made an error on the measurement and needed to tile a 2'x3' sections and they said it would cost me over $400 to tile this section and the materials cost is less than $20. This is my last project with them. From now on, I'm going to Home Depot. read more

Typical lowes. They have everything you normally need. However, the staff isn't really that helpful when you really need to find something. They just point and tell you if they have it, it will be in that row. Pretty typical of the large chain stores. read more

Was takings a tour through the store,picked up about a hundred dollars plus items...and headed to ck out, No one cking . Only self ck out available. NO thank you, young lady said that's okay, I can assist you, "I said no thank you, I don't need assistance " pushed the cart aside and came home. If I could give Lowe's in Festus 0 stars I would. We have spent over 15k in appliances, fencing, doors etc. Our fence was 12k and installation was poor. The company they used.. awful. Now Lowe's doesn't want to pay to fix our fence. Which I understand it falls right out of warranty. Do they care? No. They expect me to pay to have them come out again. No thank you. DO NOT buy anything from Lowes in Festus Mo there protection plan is a joke they take your money quick enough but will not find someone to fix your product. After excessively long wait times they can't send anyone and will not give you your money back on the protection plan. read more

Had a horrible experience with the Lowe's in Festus went into the store to get new carpeting in our house that we are selling. The sales person sold us carpet, padding, and we were told it was a promotion that they would move 5 pieces of furniture. It was a "one day install". After 2 days of install, missing work and huge headache and we had to pay someone to move all the furniture because my husband is having back surgery they will not stand behind what they told us and basically saying not their issue. We are very unsatisfied with the store and install company's communication. They told us the window to be here first day was 8-10 and they showed up around 12:45pm and then second day we will be back first thing in the morning and no call no show till 2:20 pm. Lowe's will turn their back on you as soon as their is an issue. They were great till they got the sale!!!!! read more

I am not typically the type of person to leave negative review on a business. However, my experience at Lowes in Festus, MO today is quite possibly the worst customer service I have EVER experienced. My husband and I needed some wood cut. The associate, John, acted as if helping us was a huge inconvenience. Another female employee actually said "these guys get paid to much to stand around cutting someone's wood". We only needed it cut in pieces small enough to fit into our vehicle. I will not be back to this Lowes location ever! I was so upset by the way we were treated by the store associates. I have been a regular customer at Lowes in Farmington, MO for years and have never had any kind of issue. Your Festus employees need some training in customer service and basic manners. read more

i really did not plan on reviewing another Lowe's but I ended up here today....the husband I decided to head the other direction "away" from the Lou...what the hell where we thinking. I just needed a few things and any normal shopping plaza would do....but I ended up driving past Hillsboro--I can now say I've been there no occassion to go back and because they had nothing we went on to Festus....I am not sure how this place supports Home Depot AND Lowes AND Festus Lumber crazy.....Anyhow...I was able to get the things I needed at a competitive price...ceiling fan chain extenders a couple washers to fix a fireplace screen---some garbage bags, dishwasher tablets, laundry soap, and some all-purpose kitchen cleaner. They needed more people on the register---they were calling for them but not soon enough....I appreciated that they were selling Shamrocks to support MDA.....and they now have a free program called "MY LOWES" that you can sign up for and it will store and save all your purchases so that if you have a paint color or something that you bought you don't have to keep up with that shit....Probably won't find myself in Festus again....I wish I would have went towards Brentwood....then I could have hit up most of my favorite stores and possibly gotten some Ted Drewes.
