This Lowes is very hit or miss related to service. I recently purchased a $700 table saw and was very happy with the service I received. Today, I went in to buy several wire closet shelves. I couldn't get any help. When I finally did receive help. I found out that the prices that Lowe's has on their website are not honored by the store. They had a shelf that was $10 more than the shelves they were selling, and I was buying several. $10 isn't much, but it was the idea that they wouldn't honor their own prices. I told the lady at the desk if I couldn't get the price, it was advertised I would not come back to Lowe's. She said you wouldn't come back for that. I'm sorry. bye. I left here and drove less than 2 miles to Home Depot and purchased $400 worth of closet shelves. I'll honor my word. Overall, I've probably spent $3000 at this Lowe's in the last year. It's not that much in the grand scheme of things, but when you consider I'm not a contractor that spend a lot more than I do that run into the same stupid support issues and just don't come back. read more

Waited for help in paint depth. Never showed up left after30 min. Went to my local true value. Was helped when walked in store. Refuse to buy paint or ever ask for help in your store ever again . Will know shop local before returning to lowes. No stars from me. read more

Tried to return a bunch of items without receipt that we realized he didn't need. I had no problem returning items at Home Depot that came from Home Depot. I never have issues at HD. It's always I have issues with buying things on clearance at lowes and then a cashier starts drama over the pricing of that item, denying said items are marked down. Trying to return other items, yeah they refuse to work with us on that even if it means store credit. The thing is, they *always* give us problems whether it's checking out or returning stuff. Always. It's not just this location either. I have family in south GA that has the same negative experiences from a lowes there but it's always a beautiful breeze at Home Depot. Clearly there's some type of toxic culture within Lowes in general and plus they are not customer friendly at all by any means. With that being said, I have turned into a total snob and refuse to buy anything else from lowes for any reason. I refuse. read more

It's great. Moving to Columbia from Summerville, I'm not used to the lack of a freaking crowd everywhere I turn in stores. This Lowes is great because it's never packed with people. Staff is very kind and always give attention to my kids as we pass by. read more

Recently needed to prepare our house for sale which meant replacing tons of stuff and repair others. We literally spent thousands of dollars at this Lowes and the Lowes on Killian Road. We didn't spend all of the money in one or two trips. The trips were spread out to maybe 10-15 visits over a 2 month time period. Every single time we went to Lowes we were met with very helpful and kind employees. Whether it was cashiers, paint section or randomly throughout the store, everyone was helpful and courteous. My one gripe is that too often we would use the Lowes website to locate an item, we would find the item locator online but it didn't match in the physical store. This happened probably a dozen times or so. We recently visited our local Home Depot and a huge turn off for us was these fluorescent signs all over the appliance section stating that military discounts did not include appliances. We left HD and went straight to Lowes and purchased a very nice fridge with a military discount. Many veterans have been very vocal about avoiding Home Depot recently and I'm seeing why now. read more

Their curbside is horrible. I placed an order online and when I got the email stating it was available I headed to the store. On the app it's states you can let the store know when you are on the way and what type of vehicle you will be in, which I did. Once I got to the store I again went I. The app and it asked which parking space you were in and then it said someone will be out momentarily with my order. 20 minutes later no one had come out. There were maybe a total of 10-12 cars in the entire parking lot so they weren't busy at all. Finally my husband got mad and went inside to pick up our order. He stated 3 employees were just standing at the desk chatting away. If I had been the one going in to pick up the order they would have been refunding my money. Absolutely no customer service whatsoever!!!!! read more

Wanted to buy a grill and a patio umbrella. Being an insane person I wanted the grill still in the box. Apparently the are stored in the highest place possible. Sales associate went to help others and would walk by saying just a few more minutes. We eventually got tired of waiting and left. Poor customer service. read more

I always shop here. Their paint section has dropped off recently. I bought their Valspar porch paint. When I took it back after a couple of months and asked them to shake it up for me, they refused. Talked to a manager he said no also. The Sherwin-Williams up the road was happy to help me out. I should have gone to them to buy the paint. A couple dollars more buys you years of coverage. Lesson learned no Lowe's paint anymore. read more

The Lowe's on Two Notch in Columbia tried to weasel out on a Craftsman tool warranty claim. I was finally able to get them to make good on it with some hassle. Remember that Lowe's IS obligated to honor ALL Craftsman warranties. read more

I used to only go to Lowe's for home repair shopping but recently I've not had the best experiences. The customer service is pretty good when you can find someone to help you. I am very disappointed with this Lowe's location. I purchased a brand new Weber Genesis Grill (installed by Lowe's team) and was delivered last Sunday, March 13, 2016. After it was delivered, I inspected it and found multiple defects on the grill. I called that same hour it was delivered and told the guy on the phone that it was poorly installed; the knobs were crooked, left side of grill cover has 3 inch long crack and inside tin metal wasn't installed properly, it was bulging. He told me that he was going to tell his manager right away and have somebody at my house the next day to inspect and if needed they will replace it. And for my inconvenience they are going to give me a 10% discount and for the meantime just use the grill. So, I felt good about it their customer service. But 7 days later, nobody called or showed up at my house. Today, I went to Lowe's to report the problem. I asked for the manager on duty to speak with but instead I waited for 30 minutes while they had a phone tag amongst each other. John Broadway (the Dept. manager) told the cashier to tell me to offer me a 10% discount or for me to return the grill and they can replace it. I said no, I would like a replacement, a swap. After all these time, finally a Lowe's employee named Tynisha helped me through this ordeal. Tynisha told me they cannot do a swap, the old grill has to be returned first before a new one can be delivered to me. If I wanted a swap, I have to PAY for another one and once the other grill gets into their system, I can be reimbursed! Seriously?! Repeatedly, I was told that I haven't paid for another grill that's why they can't do a swap, meaning deliver the replacement and get the broken one that same day. They can guarantee the pick up but they can't guarantee the delivery of the replacement. And this whole time, NO manager ever showed up! Now, she says she will set up a Wednesday pick up of the broken grill and HOPEFULLY be able to set up a replacement the next day. I bought the grill a week ago so I won't have to deal with it last minute because I will need the grill this week (family visiting) specially Friday, but now not only they've given me a broken grill, I may have to cancel my plans for this week because of their incompetence. Friday was going to be a backyard grill party and I've already invited people to come over. Unbelievable! I've been purchasing items from Lowe's for years. But I stopped going to the Lowe's nearest to my location because it seemed like they stopped hiring subject matter expert employees. I decided to go to this Lowe's location because I want to stay loyal even though a Home Depot is closer. But if they can't fix this in a timely manner, I will start going to Home Depot.
