We had the most awful renovation experience with this store. All we wanted for our tiny kitchen was a new backsplash and a new countertop. It took months for them to coordinate taking down our old backsplash and scheduling the countertop people. Lou, in counters dept, had us buying the same piece for the plumber THREE times. He ignored my complaints about Stone Central, the Jack*sses responsible for installing our counter, and both the backsplash and counter had to be re-measured over and over again because Lowe's (who is in the business of home decor) doesn't know how to measure.
Stone Central is made up of the most nastiest and lying sack of craps I've ever encountered. Their behavior and poor customer service was just shameful. They rescheduled us several times on short notice saying that they "didn't have anyone who could do the job." Then why are you guys open if you can't even complete the bare minimum??? And this has nothing to do with COVID, even tho they will tell you that it did. Read their Google or BBB reviews and you'll see similar complaints that are pre-COVID.
I took off work for our backsplash installation and they show up saying they can't do the job that day because they didn't have supplies. So your one job is in home renovation and you show up with no supplies? I was livid.
Back to stone central, they actually tried to get out of giving us a refund for all their mistakes. The Lowe's manager, David or something, had to give us $100 credit to our account to make up for my missed work day and our general aggravation. But we should have gotten more off. It took them almost 7 months to complete a job they should have been able to complete in 2.
Yesterday I go in to just get a key cut. We ask an elderly man to help us find someone who can take care of it. He doesn't even speck to us, just goes looking for his coworker to help. He then just silently points us in her direction. Ok fine, at least we found someone. She proceeds to keep taking her time helping some fool who doesn't even have a mask on, for TEN minutes while we're waiting for them to finish. She doesn't acknowledge us or even say "sorry one minute!" She finally finishes with COVID Carl and then asks us if we need anything. We tell her we need a key and she leads us over to the key station. There is a white family there (of course), and instead of helping us first, two people who have been patiently waiting while she finished helping COVID Carl pick out screws, she helps the white family first and CONTINUES to ignore us for a second time. Even going to far as to chit chat with them and help them look for fun key patterns. I am SO sick of the blatant racism in this area and in this store specifically. I know the clerk wasn't white herself, but there is definitely an aura of "whites first" in this area. This is beyond just bad customer service. It's blatant dismissal, it's shameful, and I'm never shopping at this store again.
I grabbed my husband and my key and walked out. Lowe's is not getting any more of my money if this is how they choose to treat people. Train your staff. Enact customer service protocols. Set up discrimination and nonracial profiling workshops. You guys KNOW you should be doing better. read more
