Lowe's sent two young men who had no idea what they were doing, and when I used the washer for the first time, my entire basement flooded. Impossible to communicate with a human being since everything is now all online. A kind neighbor came over and had to buy a new hose connector to solve the problem. read more

I visited earlier today and had quite a special experience with a woman I'll consider a new friend named Joanne. I have a home in Arrowsic which was my grandparents. My grandmother was a gardener extraordinaire and I'm tasked with putting in a new rose bush and new plants for the fall now that the home has been renovated after their passing. In the past i had Lowe's install a vinyl fence around my back yard, gutters and vinyl rails for my deck. Everything went great. 4 weeks ago i had Lowe's come out to my house to look at a pair of exterior sliding doors. The Lowes rep showed up on Monday, took the dimensions and said he would e mail a quote. 2 weeks went by and i called the Lowe's rep and asked about the quote. He said he gad it on his desk and would get it over to me this week. 2 weeks later, still no quote. Called him again on my cell, went to voice mail, let a message, no response. i gave up, called the competition, got a price and ordered the sliding doors. If Lowe's wasn't interested or couldn't do it, fine just say so. Ghosting me is VERY unprofessional. read more

Went to this store to look for some cellular blinds because someone told me that it can be great advantage on saving heat during winter times and will also ask for installation. I met Nancy who happened to be the person assigned in that department. I did explained to her what I want and the situation I have right now (tight budget). I was very pleased with her with all the help and knowledge she offered me, she even able to find me a better deal and got me a huge amount of savings. Shipment was about on the the right track exactly on the date that she told me. Installation was also an A+,very professional even though Mike(installer) had a very tight schedule he was able to adjust it for me. I have no negative comments to say about this. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of their system, they have me comeback for an hour to sign the paperwork ,it just suddenly went offline so she was not able to print the contract. read more

This Lowe's is a disappointment. I went in to buy a cordless drill. There were so few people working in the store that it was hard to find someone who was willing to unlock the cabinet so that I could get the drill out of the security area. I asked two different people, who both told me "I don't work over there", even when all I asked was to send someone to help me. There is simply no customer service. When I finally did get help, the man could not have been nicer...but he was literally the only person in the whole store to be helping customers. Two different checkers were incredibly rude...one was just scrolling through her phone and wouldn't even look up. This Lowe's is in a super convenient location and has good quality merchandise, but impossible to shop in. I went in once more to buy a refrigerator. I was told that there was no one working in the department to try back later. When I asked when someone would be in, they said "How am I supposed to know?". They lost the sale of a major appliance to another store. read more

How does this company stay in business? I have had nothing but trouble every time I shop with them. The first time they sold me a sliding glass door that opened front he wrong direction. We only discovered this when my contractor cut the old door out and tried to install the new one. It was Fall and very cold. When we returned the wrong door, they told me they didn't have the one I needed and it would be an extra $1,000 for the one I was in need of. All this while I had a gapping hole in the back of my house. I tried again last week to buy a grill from them. I paid for assembly and delivery. They were going to deliver on a Wednesday and instead delivered on the following Friday. They told me they would give me a 4 hour window of delivery time and they gave me 12 hours. I asked that it be delivered in the afternoon and they delivered it in the morning while I was at work. I went to use the grill for the first time and it doesn't work. Now I have to call and complain AGAIN. This is absolutely ridiculous! Who is charge of this business?! Never again! read more

Funny. When I read through the older reviews, about staff not being helpful, it's the exact opposite of my own recent experiences at the home improvement superstore. Just a bit of backstory, before I proceed. I was a fan of Lowe's major competitor, or so I thought. Before we sold our home where we lived for 26 years, I had to do a bunch of home improvement projects this fall. Living out in the boonies, the Topsham "Big Orange" was the best option, or that's what I assumed. I never gave Lowe's a chance. Maybe I should have. Just moved to a new place a mere three miles away from the Brunswick store. As I was unpacking, it occurred to me that I needed some supplies. On both of my recent visits, I had no clue where my items were located in this very roomy big-box. So, I asked a Lowe's employee. Not sure if it's store/company policy, but each time, the friendly employee walked me to the exact spot in the store where my item was displayed. I liked that. At the other place, you usually got a grunt, and a general, "it's over there." Even the local manager, a guy I see regularly at the local Y, didn't go out of his way to help me. While I'm not a huge fan of big-box retail, sometimes, when you need an item, it's better to go to a place like Lowe's, than make 37 stops at various local retailers who don't have what you need, anyways. My only quibble with this particular store is that the layout is somewhat confusing. However, if the staff are always this helpful, I'll just ask them for directions. read more

This is a really nice Lowes. So why can't they get their act together? We ordered a custom cabinet August 16th. They promised it would be about two weeks. So Sept 9th I called - is it in? No. They then said it had shipped Sept 8th. Did they call to tell me? No. Nothing. So I call today (the 17th) and ask, is it in? Dunno, we'll check. Low and behold, it's in the back. Did they call me? Nope. The only thing people remember more than good customer service is bad customer service. read more

I am writing this review because I am less than satisfied with the treatment and service that I received from Lowe's installation section customer service. I was held hostage to pay $412 extra for a floor installation because the measurer from Lowe's gave the wrong information to the installation company as to what type of floor was being removed from my house before the new installation. When I purchased my flooring and booked the installation I was told it would be a 2 day job. When the crew arrived they informed me that because the existing floor was wood and not laminate it would take 2 extra days for the job because removal of the wood floor was more involved than if it had been laminate. I actually agreed to pay the extra because I wanted the job done and didn't want to live in a torn apart house for another month. As it ended up, the job took three days, HOWEVER, the 1st day the crew worked for 2 hours and the 2ndday they worked for 3.5 hours, finishing the job on the 3rd day working 7 hours. The Lowes customer service rep told me that the jobs were quoted by type of labor not by hours. Even though I am extremely happy with my new floor, product wise. And I am happy with the installation quality and professionalism of the crew. I feel that Lowes has taken advantage of me by charging me an extra $412 for this job. It makes absolutely NO sense to me. I will NEVER do business with them again. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. There is a real disconnect between departments and no one at the organization seems to communicate with one another. Not to mention the fact that both ladies I spoke with on the phone were extremely rude to me. read more

We are doing a bathroom project and so have had a lot of purchases and returns lately. Went to return a faucet today and they refused to return it without the receipt. They said I've had too many returns (mostly with receipts). Home Depot emails me my receipts so I never have an issue, I just pull them up. Bye bye Lowe's. Home Depot has people who know their stuff so I have fewer reruns anyhow and they never give me a hard time when I need to exchange something out. Big thumbs down Lowe's. read more

Not too happy with them at the moment.... The website shows they are still open.....ha. we were there at 9:10 pm...... site says til 10pm.... locked up and in dire need of a septic pump. This afternoon I bought a pump that the salesman asked how many people were on the septic so he could recommend the right pump. Yeah..... bought the pump he recommended and my plumber said it is the wrong pump....this is a pump to pump out a cellar!!!! and they are freeking closed!!! So another half hour trip tomorrow. Can you tell I am upset? Think I will buy one tomorrow somewhere else and just return this cellar sump pump. read more

Lowes is okay if you know what your looking for, but don't count on Employees for any kind of (in depth) interaction. I asked an employee where I could find 1000 grit sand paper and just stared at me with a blank look. I said "That's okay I'll find it myself." While reviewing a large chain store may seem pointless, this particular store deserves special mention. I have shopped here several times while home visiting the 'rents, most recently to purchase Mom a new dishwasher. It is never difficult to find a dedicated employee to shepherd you through your purchase, even when you come back at the last minute before delivery to make wholesale changes to your purchase. They call in the right people, override protocols, yada yada, to get the job done and make you happy. I always have a pleasant experience shopping at this store. read more

Avoid their flooring installation at all cost!! We went in and eventually met with Joe to purchase some peel & stick flooring. This was May 14th! Chose a product and wrote up an order to purchase and install. Joe said a installer would call for an appointment to measure. We drove back up from Boston and met the installer, He measured and asked why we had a sample of peel & stick laying on the floor. I said that is what we ordered. He said hie company does not install peel & stick, and they are the exclusive installers for Lowe's Scarborough. Back to Lowe's. The pulled our file and it had a contract for "plank" flooring....NO peel & stick. We picked out a sheet product from a large roll and waited for a quote. I called to order and the salesman said i could pay by credit card , BUT would have to drop by in the afternoon to sign the contract. Drive again from Boston. He finally agreed to accept and electronic signature.In a few weeks I called and was told they had to order a new roll as that roll was sold to others. I called after a week and was told "My" roll would be in on July 3rd. A week later I called and they said they were searching for a piece from another store. A week later we went back to Maine to choice another pattern. Could not find a salesman. Asked customer service topage someone. She got on the speakers and paged JOE!!!! 45 minutes later no Joe, although he was on that night till 10PM. I went back to customer service were a very nice girl gave me my money back......after 7 weeks! read more

Customer service in the store is great. The customer service in Illinois leaves much to be desired. They don't give the customer care, trouble shooters much leverage and aren't understanding to an ongoing situation. My counter top was cut poorly, there was a large gap in back, and cut unevenly in the front and on an over 7,000$ product all they could offer was a $300 refund or a backsplash to cover the gap...Never wanted a back splash wanted a nice tile and was planning on doing it later; can't afford it now....meh. unhappy. :( read more

I was in over the weekend to order new exterior doors and to get credit for a door installed last year which is now expanding and warping. Met with the Manager. He was very nice and helpful. He needed to contact the manufacturer of the door to determine how to get credit and felt it would be easier to get this settled prior to ordering the doors. Made sense to me. He was going contact the manufacturer and send the pictures of the door immediately after our meeting and was going to call me to update. It is now 4 days later and I haven't heard a word one way or the other. I have called the store 2 days in a row now only to be told that there is no one scheduled to work in Doors and Windows, therefore there is no way to help me and will have to call back again. There are no 'checks and balances', so to speak. Honestly, how do you run a business, especially one that deals not only with the public, but commercial contractors, without having the necessary personnel to help and answer questions? Frustrating to say the least. We did our kitchen project through this Lowe's and never had an issue, was completely satisfied, that is why I came back to order my new doors, however this is not sitting well. read more

I am shocked with the lack of quality service at the Brunswick Maine store for the big price items of install. We have had to call back multiple times on install, when the individual consistently tells us that she will get back with us. We wait for weeks and still end up calling again or having to go to the store. We usually do not report people, but I think the manager of this store needs to finally get involved and actually hire, train and monitor people on their positions! One thing for sure, I now know we will not be doing our almost $30,000. kitchen through them that we received an estimate on. read more
