Ordered a dishwasher 12/17/25. Told it was waiting for installer on 12/30/25. Received 3 phone calls stating it would be delivered and installed 01/28/26. Received no call from installer (01/28) - called store and was told it was waiting for pick up by installer. I cancelled order. Lesson learned - if you want an appliance from the Auburn Lowe's, you won't get it. Shop elsewhere. read more

This is my go-to Lowes and is the closest to where I live.They do a decent job keeping the aisles clear and the store neat in appearance. They usually have a great selection if discount items when you first walk in to the right. It's usually my go-to area for gifts. I have not experienced the same issues with customer service some other Yelper's have raised concerns about. All my interactions have been good and very polite. Their paint area though seems like its run by robots because they speak in a monotone voice and they are short with their questions and answers. I don't got offended by it so long as I get in and get out in a timely manner. Their paint section is usually the busiest amongst the other Lowes I have visited. read more

The only reason this store gets any stars at all is because the ppl who eventually brought my curbside to my car loaded all the wood onto my trailer. That was very nice. However, this was my first and last online curbside order with Lowe's. You see, I thought curbside for 50 or so 8' planks of wood (plus some other heavy things) would be easier than bothering to go in myself just to choose. Oh boy was I was wrong. I arrived at Lowe's for my first curbside order, saw absolutely no signage about where to park nor any designated parking spots, so I parked at the lumber area for the obvious reason that I had ordered mostly lumber, cinder blocks and only a handful of small items. Well, I checked it with the app. Then I waited. Waited. Waited some more. After nearly 40 minutes I decided to go in to ask. I thought they may be busy so wanted to wait as long ad I could. Turns out they weren't. First, I was greeted by a very rude woman. She asked a man for help, who was snarky about me choosing to park at lumber. (Keep in mind the app doesn't tell you anything about where parking may be or how to contact anyone!) Long story slightly shorter, the man did find out that my two items were available at the curbside area (that I couldn't find because of zero signage) but my lumber, sand AND cinder blocks were actually still in the lumber area so I was parked in the right place after all! However, nobody --absolutely nobody-- from curbside bothered to try to contact me by any means available in the app. So, I waited for close to 40 minutes and was sniped at for no reason. The curbside would've just sent me back to limber so why didn't they assume that's where I would be!?! Isn't it obvious? So.. no, I don't recommend this store and won't be bothering with this again. Curbside is supposed to make my life easier, not harder. read more

New home owner in the Aurburn area so in my first year I have become a frequent customer building the tools and equipment to maintain my home from inside projects, yard equipment, to snow blowers. On many of my visitors I have been helped by a Lowe's team member named Anthony. He's my "project tool whisperer". He gets me set for my projects always with cost and efficiency in mind. What is up with this place lately? I used to prefer this place over Home Depot. The only thing useful was during the quarantine and amounts of people let in any store at a time. There was always an outside line waiting to shop Home Depot, yet getting in and out of Lowe's there was no lines. Thats a sign of a business going downhill. If they don't start putting the customer first, they won't have to worry much about lines if they go out of business. My last review described the hell I went thru to get assistance to buy a $2000 riding lawn mower, I will regret buying this at Lowe's, even if I am happy with the mower itself. Then I was in the market for a shed, another $2000 purchase. Once again, nobody seemed to have a clue they were on display, after dealing with several associates that were not willing to help or get somebody to help, I said screw this and bought my shed elsewhere. Don't think I'll be doing business with Lowe's anytime soon, unless it's something I can order on line, or something I won't need an associate to help me with. I want the old Lowe's back, not this new crap version. read more

Needed 2 sheets of plywood. They had the isle blocked off, finally a worker shows up and asks me if I need something on the isle. I tell him I need 2 sheets of plywood. He tells me "Well it will be awhile because they have $10,000 worth of drywall to get in before it rains". It was cloudy outside, but no rain in sight. So I took my business to Home Depot. Needed some garden stuff on a Sunday. I thought the garden center opened at the same time as the store. However, it did not open until 10 but you could go through the store to get to the garden center which I did. I loaded 7 bags of mulch and 40 concrete edgers. I knew I would have to walk through the garden center to get to the front check out. I thought "someone will see me and help me out with this load" Ha! Wrong again! I walked backward hauling a grocery cart full of concrete and a flat truck loaded with 7 big bags of mulch, passed at least 5 Lowes employees and not one of them offered to help me. Then I finally got to the front and the employee at the cash was just as bad. Totally dis engaged to me and a little old man that needed his help. I scanned my mulch and then he asks me if I have an item number for my edgers. I said I did not but that they were 2.08 each. He pulls out a book and starts looking and looking and looking and looking. Finally he looks at me and says, can you go back to the garden center and get the item number? What?! Any good customer service rep would have said, hold on I will go get that number for you...be right back. But no....I had to walk all the way back to the garden center and take a picture of the item#. So I finally cash out and do you think that red headed step child would help me out or at least go find someone to help me? No he did not, he watched me struggle all the way out the door. Then I got to the parking lot and as I was walking thru yet another Lowes employee passes right by me without asking me if I need help. back in my day, you did not have to ask. Good customer service was provided automatically. It took a customer who does not even work at Lowes to help me. Nicest person I have met in quite some time. Loaded my car for me and everything. I told him he needs to go inside and show these so called employees how to give good customer service. People want the pay check but they don't actually want to earn it! So Sad! read more

i was a loyal lowes customer spent thousands of dollars with them. but when they make a mistake they actually release security footage to a customer and then you are labeled a theif. i recently purchased a small item and put it on my account at least i thought i did. a mistake was made as they do happen the cashier entered the wrong phone number and my purchase was charged to the wrong account. when the customer noticed the purchase they notified lowes where at that point lowes gave the customer my picture from security footage. the customer then posted it on facebook and telling he would give a reward for information leading to me. because of this my business has suffered and i have been approached in the street and have been called a thief. lowes acknowledged the mistake and called the customer who then removed the post. but by then the damage had been done. i hyave not even recieved and apology from lowes. contractors beware they are loyal to none. advice from a former customer read more

This store is always clean, stocked, organized and full of helpful staff. I am greeted and asked if I can be helped by no less than 3 associates every time I shop here. From my floor and ceiling fans and a/c unit at the beginning of the summer, to my new dryer at the end of the summer and now to my heaters, I am always able to get in and get out with what I need hassle and stress free. read more

Customer service sucks...wife bought a stove last week it is supposed to be delivered tomorrow.nobody called to set up a time..we called and all's they would do is give us a number to call a computer so that the computer can tell us it cannot give us a time....so we have no idea what going with our stove but what the hell they got this 100% service connected disabled veterans money why should they give a shit when they give us our stove. read more

Spent 30 min trying to get someone to just tell us if they had a $600 grill we were looking at in stock, front customers service no help she told me the guy I needed was somewhere near swings but she didn't know where they were. Found the guy in the parking lot loading mulch didn't know how long he would be. Like no one else in the store is able to help very unhappy going to Home Depot moving forward and at least Walmart try's to help you! read more

If you have a green thumb, I've got a secret for you. The annual and perennial flowers and plants here can be crazy expensive (especially if you're buying them in large quantities). Why buy them healthy and vibrant when you can get them at a fraction of the price a couple weeks later when the leftover ones have been discarded, left for dead, when new plants come in? I'm being totally serious here - for (one) example: I've bought eight to ten FLATS of impatiens before for under $10. Were they attractive when I purchased them? No; they had definitely seen better days. But with a little TLC, sunshine, and water, within just a couple weeks I had a garden FULL of the most beautiful little flowers you had ever seen. I once got three really thick stargazer lily plants that were brown and dried to a crisp for for $5. I planted them anyway, and when they came up the next year they were ENORMOUS, gorgeous in their pink splendor, and abundantly fragrant. One of the best indoor plants I have was just .50 cents because it was on it's last breath; a year later and it's the biggest (and most pretty) plant I own! You should know: not ALL Lowe's have such an excellent "reduced plant and flower" section (or maybe they do and folks in these towns already know this amazing secret), and I didn't find this out until I moved. The Lowe's in my current city never has anything spectacular hiding on those green metal racks adorned with bright yellow, handwritten "REDUCED" signs. Even when they do, the selection is terrible and the prices still seem exorbitant to me (ahh, the cost of Portlandtown living). So, if I'm in the area I always make it a point to swing by the Lowe's in Auburn to be the little plant scavenger they've enabled me to be. So, from May to October, skip the store entirely. Go right into the fenced off Garden section and look for the "REDUCED" cart (there's usually two - one right as you walk in, and one off to the right near the soil). Both the birds and the bees in your garden will thank you! read more

If you want the worst possible customer service from a hardware chain, this is your place. Their communication SUCKS. Their managers force their employees to handle customers issues because they have zero intestinal fortitude. we spent thousands on a riding lawnmower that had no shear pin. we have had to return our new mower, track down the product and beg to receive it. We have "owned" it for two weeks and have yet to be able to use it. I guess Home Depot is the place to shop. We are looking to spend thousands on home improvement in the future, and I guess Lowe's will receive no more of our mone. read more

Here is my experience with their inept and incompetent Paint Department: They have abysmal customer service: they don't give a rat's derriere. The customer is unhappy: Guess what: they don't care. I picked out a paint I wanted from their samples. When I painted my deck, the paint was lighter than it was represented. I went back to the store to ask them to modify it, and the supervisor couldn't arrive at the color I wanted. She then told me, "Maybe it's just not your color." Wow! Just because they are incompetent and inept and cannot think outside the box, the fault is mine for choosing that color. After much discussion about her lack of initiative, intelligence and common sense, she finally arrived at a color that was acceptable. After I finished my front deck, I went back to get a gallon of the same paint for the back deck. Therein I erred. They didn't have any "base" left for mixing that paint, and had no idea when or IF they would be getting it back in, since they have to take what they're given. In other words, they cannot call their souls their own. In any event, she said she would try to match it, but she COULDN'T and said there are some colors outside the machine's capability to mix. So there you have it. Here's my advice. When you finally arrive at a color that's acceptable, be sure you purchase ALL you're going to need, because coming back and obtaining any more, 99 chances out of a hundred, you've run out of options. I am so tired of being the recipient of their stupidity, and yet they get to keep their jobs and go on doing a pi$$-poor job of it with little or no regard for the customer! read more

This store is very neat and organized. The employees are very helpful and always willing to share their advice. They have a large selection of power tools ranging from Ryobi to Milwaukee brands. The lumber selection is quite limited and you must check each piece for any imperfections. Recently, I have purchased flood lights, sanding discs and wheel barrel handle to repair my wheel barrel. Be sure to check out the clearance section. I found great deal on a display model pedestal sink and large easy-ups. read more

I have spent a lot of money there in the last 18 months, having purchased several appliances, lighting fixtures and most recently, wood pellets for heating my home. Now, however, I feel very unimportant and completely disrespected as a customer. My dollars can be spent elsewhere. read more

I am a long-time customer. I'm typically in the store at least once a week, and I spend several thousands of dollars over the course of a year. I am a loyal customer, but I'm shifting my business to competitors because of a steady decline in customer service over the last couple of years . There is very little difference in price, product selection-quality, and inventory. The only thing each store can offer to differentiate it from its competitor is customer service. It seems more and more like an afterthought at this Lowe's. In my experience the worst CS is in Lawn and Garden, Tools, and Lumber (with a couple of notable exceptions.) I no longer patronize the Lawn and Garden department, period. The employees are utterly clueless, often argumentative, and always difficult to find. I've yet to find an employee who has basic knowledge of plants. One even argued with me that a Black-Eyed Susan was an annual, not a perennial! Seriously? Tools CS is as bad. Recently a Tool Dept employee didn't even know what a dado blade was!!! C'mon man, that's 8th grade shop class! How can I trust anyone to give me guidance when employees don't even have such basic knowledge? When I try to locate other products, employees are nowhere to be found, and when I track one down they treat me like I'm an idiot for asking. The lumber department has several younger male CSRs who are borderline rude in every encounter, and who clearly are disinterested in their job. Last week I spent 15 minutes looking for something. There were no CSRs in sight. I finally tracked one down. He did not look up at me, simply grunted the aisle number and ignored me thereafter. No CSR has ever offered to help me load things like bags of cement even when looking directly at me struggling. The professional customers seem to get ample attention in the Lumber/Building Materials Department. In fact, it seems like the Pros and Lowe's CSRs are part of a closed social club, and ordinary retail customers are an imposition to be barely tolerated. The cashiers, typically women, are a bright spot -- always courteous, smiling, attentive, helpful, and efficient. They should serve as models for what CSRs should be like. The older male CSRs in Lumber tend to be very helpful, knowledgeable, and eager to assist. Different work ethic, I guess. As I say, I've been a loyal, frequent customer, so I've seen the deterioration in customer service play out steadily over the last couple of years. I've had enough. Gary S. at Lowes, has always been great. Much to my surprise, he was running the appliance department. I came in and he was able to answer all my questions. I he model I wanted wasn't in stock but would be in, in a couple of days. I love dealing with Gary whenever I come in, he is a good man. At the last minute, my wife wanted a small tree to put in the house because we go away during Christmas week, Valarie was leaving when she noticed we had one item and went back to cash us out, you don't get that kind of service everyday, so thank you Valarie. I ordered a fridge from Lowe's on May 5th with an estimated delivery before May 25th. I received a call from Lowe's on May 21st informing me that they had not yet received the fridge and were rescheduling the delivery date to May 28th. They didn't show up or call on the 28th. I called on June 4th and was told that it had just left the factory. I asked if I would receive it the following week and was told they couldn't be sure when they would receive it. I didn't hear from them the following week. I called a week later only to find out that they have the fridge!!! and have had it for the past 8 days without contacting me. The person answering the phone said that there was a note rescheduling to possibly June 25th, 15 days after they received it. She further told me that the person that I could talk to for scheduling hadn't been there for a few days and wouldn't be back for a few days. They have had my $1,200.00 for over six weeks and I don't even get a phone call. I paid extra for the service plan. I wonder what will happen if I need to use it. I have sworn by Lowe's for many years, but perhaps change is in order. read more

Buyer Beware: If you purchase something on Lowes.com to be delivered to the store and when the order status says that it is ready for customer pick-up, do not believe it. We were laughed at by the Assistant Store Manager who made us "prove it". Lowes does a great job making the customer see things from the corporate side, but the Auburn, ME Lowes made us feel like they could care less about a loyal customer's experience and would rather loose a customer than resolve this simple issue.
