Honestly, I hate Lowe's and typically have no business shopping here, but I do like this specific location very much. I've made online order returns at this store, and the customer service folks were super nice about it. No judgement or snark. Granted all of my returns were NIB, but I often see customer service staffers in this region take returns personally. Um lol? Anyway, the indoor plants section is usually underwhelming, but the few plants I have actually picked up from here (Costa Farms hoyas) have not had any pest infestations, so that's good. It's unfortunate that the parking lot is on an incline. I bought several bags of salt for my water softener, and it was annoying to have the cart constantly rolling away while I was loading. I'm clumsy, so I was really scared that I might hit someone's car with my cart. To be safe, I just buy the salt at Sam's Club now. What else. I really really commend this store for having a very diverse staff. Also, on numerous trips to the plumbing section specifically, I was approached by a Lowe's staff member and asked if I needed help (which I absolutely desperately did). In one case, I was helped by an older gentleman named John who was a plumbing guru. I showed him a picture of my wall situation, and he saved me from almost buying the wrong utility sink! Yikes! DEALING with a deck project to be built Had to replace some bad treated lumber and post on July 27th. already paid for this treated Lumber through the contractor but in order to have this bad spit lumber and roopted post replace with good treated lumber I had to pay for it again.. It should of been an even exchange but it wasn't.. The sad thing is they credited the contractor for the bad wood which was 477.00 dollars which I already paid for through him Now I am paying again for this treated wood which is on my Lowe's credit card and I can't get it off of the account This is a terrible business to work with and credit company with the bank can't do anything for me. I just have to deal with Lowe's as for now I'm not getting any credit for this bad treated wood.. 35 % intest on the account is awful. I ordered some heavy duty metal shelves online that were installed in my basement. Within an hour of ordering the shelves, which were in stock at this Lowe's store, I received a follow-up email indicating my order was ready. I promptly drove to the store, excited to get my new shelves. When I arrived, I drove to the curbside pickup parking spots and called the phone number on the sign. I dialed the extension for curbside pickup and an employee answered the phone promptly. I gave him my order number and he asked me which parking space I was sitting in. I gave that to him and he said my shelves would be brought to my minivan within five minutes. Three minutes later, two employees were carting two large boxes to my minivan. Prior to leaving my house, I cleared the contents of the rear of the minivan to accommodate large boxes. Because the boxes weighed 156 pounds each, the employees asked me to help them load them into my van, which I did. The boxes were in perfect condition upon inspection, so we loaded them into the car. The shelves installed without a hitch and now I have a ton of stuff stored neatly in my basement instead of having it slung all over the place. These shelves were $159.99 at Lowe's and $195.20 at Home Depot at the time I bought them online. This was a great experience. read more

Caution: Do not purchase STAINMASTER Pet Protect carpet from Lowes. We purchased the STAINMASTER Pet Protect carpet from Lowes (with install) a little over a year ago. It was recommended that we use Bissell cleaner if we wanted to clean the carpet ourselves, and have the carpet professionally cleaned, periodically. We've done both and only both to keep our carpet clean - no other questionable products or methods have been used. Despite this, we noticed over several weeks, our color slowly wash out - almost as if there were lighter bleach or streak marks. Initially, this was mostly noticeable in the sunlight coming through the windows, but before long it became visible in normal lighting. We filed a claim with Lowe's STAINMASTER to remedy the issue, confident that this would be rectified. Well, they essentially told us to pound sand. They told us that they were not responsible for the color loss. So, we're now stuck with thousands of dollars of defective carpet that's a little over a year old, that looks absolutely hideous. Additionally and unrelated, our pets have had two accidents on different areas of the carpet. Even after a professional cleaning on both areas, a slight brownish color still remains. It's a shame that this can happen to a consumer. I'm really surprised there isn't some class action lawsuit in play - we really can't be the only ones to have gone through this. read more

I ordered through the app and the second pencil came with a sharpie instead. Plus sharpies cost ¢90 and these where maybe $9. Clearly the packaging was ripped through and someone but a sharpie there. Maybe it could've been stolen and the Lowe's employee wasn't paying attention and scanned it or they put it their. I ordered a high end (Maytag) washer and dryer. And, surprisingly received delivery the next day. That's when everything went downhill. The deliverymen utterly failed to balance both the washer and dryer. It's universally known by laypersons and appliance repair professionals that failure to perfectly level such appliances will lessen the life of the machine. So, I balanced the machines myself. Regardless, the dryer did not work anyway. It stayed on "sensor" regardless of the troubleshooting methods I took. Cutting to the chase, I called Lowes multiple times each day informing them of the defective dryer multiple times over a 4 day period. Most often put on hold for a half hour or better. Whereas, they promised to replace the dryer on three different days. They failed to replace the dryer. I've just been given another replacement date .... Three days from now. I have this uncanny feeling that my home is Lowes' depository for defective appliances for which I have to pay them. read more

I'm pretty convinced this Lowe's store has had a management turnover as customer service has dropped off. In 2018 you are in the business of customer experience, nothing else - the customer can easily procure your products elsewhere. They shop at your store for selection, easy buying process and efficient means to an end. I hope this store improves but I'm going to spend more weekends at Home Depot (it's closer anyways) or just order online from Amazon. I purchased this item for my walk behind tractor online and had it delivered to your store in Fairlawn OH. I waited 7 days to have it delivered to the Fairlawn store. When I went to pick up my order the Customer Service Rep that helped me said we (Lowe's) cannot refund the core charge because there was not an item number on my order invoice. She asked other employees behind the desk and they were saying we cannot recycle batteries. I saw another battery on the return cart and said it the same as that one. The associate said we don't take those kind of batteries because it's a motorcycle battery. I tried to explain that it was for a tractor and requested to talk to a store manager. The representative said they were in a meeting and that they won't be available for 1-1.5 hours. I then requested a refund, which she did. After driving the 20 mile round trip to and from the store I tried calling to speak to a store manager. I was unable to get through, when I hit the prompt for the Customer Service desk, the phone system just rang and rang. Then the call just went into a loop and I was unable to get through at all. Lowe's should retrain your personnel on batteries if you are going to sell batteries. If you are not going to exchange the battery for the core charge then don't charge someone for it. Better yet, Don't Advertise and Sell Motorcycle Batteries. I can't believe that Lowe's would rather loose a $90 sell over a $10 core charge. I will take my business to Menards, Home Depot and Amazon from now on. read more

I recently purchased a front loading washer from Lowe's on line, It was delivered 2 days later from the Montrose/Fairlawn store on Labor day ! First off, I was very pleasantly surprised that the delivery crew worked on a holiday ! I received the washer right at 8 am as promised and the delivery guys couldn't be more friendly , polite or professional ! They measured the opening of all doorways to make sure it would fit, The one leading to my basement was kind of narrow and the washer probably would have been damaged trying to squeeze it through if they hadn't carefully removed the door off the hinges. They took extra care to ensure the washer would not be damaged and then professionally installed the washer and even ran a cycle to make sure it was properly working ! I was thoroughly impressed with them! Also, I found a $20 off coupon 6 days later and presented it at the customer service desk with my receipt. It wasn't easy to process because it should have been used when I initially placed the online order. But Sue was determined to help me and get the $20 off for me. It took like 20 mins with her on the phone with the online customer service but she was actually able to get me the $ 20 refund ! I was thrilled! I had such a wonderful overall experience that I have decided I will only buy any future appliances from Lowes! read more

What could have been a lovely experience, took a bad turn. My husband and I were in the process of remodeling our bathroom last month, and needed a vanity sink. We couldn't find what we liked at Home Depot, so we took a trip to the Lowe's in Fairlawn. Like magic, we found exactly what we wanted. Turns out, they didn't have the item in stock, but they were happy to special order it for us. That's when things got twisted. The guy at the Fairlawn store told us he wasn't actually able to special order it because there was an extended back order, placed by the manufacturer - no new items going out. He did tell us that there was one unit left at the Sandusky location. Sure, it was a long drive for us (3 hours round-trip), but it seemed worth it. So, we had the Fairlawn guy call the Sandusky store and have them place the item on hold for us. When we arrived in Sandusky, everything seemed to be in place. We found our contact guy, he sent us to the front register to pay for the unit and he said he'd bring the item "right up." 10 minutes passed by.. 20 minutes.. We asked about the wait and they assured us they were still locating the item, no problem. 10 more minutes passed.. another 15.. Finally they broke the news to us that they couldn't find the item in their stock. Even though it showed in the computer, it wasn't physically in the store. Why they didn't check their inventory before we arrived, I'll never know. So, after an hour of waiting (making this a 4+ hour trip), we went back to the contact guy. He was apologetic, but didn't know what to do. He called the Fairlawn location and confirmed the error. He told us he could special order the item for us (ummm.. Fairlawn said they couldn't!), and that we could come back in a week to pick it up. To Sandusky. 3 hours round-trip. No, thank you. We tried to be patient, but we were frustrated at this point. I explained to our contact guy that he needed to fix the situation by at least having the item delivered closer to home. He said no at first, but then figured out that the only way he could do the delivery was if we cancelled our purchase with Sandusky and purchased it again in Fairlawn. He would then have the item sent to Fairlawn, and he would give us a discount. We would have it in a week. Fast forward ten days, we were still waiting for a call from Fairlawn to tell us the item had been received. They never called. Then, what we thought would be a quick follow-up phone conversation, turned in to another frustrating half hour. Drum roll please.. Apparently, the order was NEVER placed in Sandusky. What??!! Seriously?? Yeah, so they ended up placing the order AGAIN and told us it would arrive in five days. More waiting. On day five, I drove to the Fairlawn store and followed-up in person. The guy I spoke to told me he couldn't find the item in the computer. Excuse me? I gave him the name of the guy who placed the order last and he called him directly. Thankfully, the order was fine (just not in the system?) and would arrive on the truck that night. The guy told me we would be notified of it's arrival. No notification ever happened (sigh), but I did drive back the next day and inquired in person again. I talked to a different guy who was able to locate it. FINALLY!! Rommy was my hero. After all of that, the sink unit looks great in our bathroom! Such a shame that the whole process was maddening. The Lowe's motto is, "Never Stop Improving." I hope they mean it. read more

Very frustrating experience. Stopped in on a Saturday to shop for a window blind. It was difficult to find someone to help and when I finally did, this employee did not seem to understand how to use her programs for scheduling measurement consultation, nor could she answer my very simple questions about the blind I was looking at. It took over 20 minutes (all the while this employee getting visibly frustrated, pacing back and forth, angrily clicking her mouse, and not keeping me informed of what was going on) to change my address form a former address to the new one in her system. I paid the $35 fee at checkout for this consultation. 5 days went by, didn't receive a call to schedule the consult. So I spent another 20 minutes of my time getting transferred from department to department. Finally after 2 days of calls back and forth I did hear back from Lowe's and was told it was a mistake on the blind company's part and that I would hear from them soon. Another week went by and no call from Lowe's OR the blind company. Needless to say, nearly 2 weeks later, I just spent another 10 minutes of my time tracking down someone to help and was eventually refunded the $35. I am scheduled with Home Depot for a FREE measurement consultation next week. Wish I would have started there! read more

My experience was a microcosm of what's wrong with retail customer service in America today. I called May 9, 2016 at about 12:30 PM. because the lawn mower I had purchased at this Lowes store was acting up for no apparent reason. I spoke with customer service. The woman said she'd transfer me to "inside" something, where someone would be able to check the manufacturer's warranty for me. The man who answered the call said, "Hello," in sort of a whisper. He didn't say his name and "may I help you." He just said "hello." I wondered if I'd been disconnected and sent to a private residence or something. I said, "Is this Lowes?" He said "yeah." I said, "Am I interrupting something? He didn't reply. I said, "The reason I ask is that you don't sound very interested in helping a customer." He didn't say anything. I said, "And I could be your boss for all you know and your attitude stinks." He hung up. I called back and asked for the store manager. I was told he was out for lunch. I asked for another manager. "I'll give you the shift manager," said the woman. When the shift manager answered the phone, he said, "Hello?" It was the rude guy. I asked, "Is this inside..." He hung up. I'll be canceling my Lowes card today and will never set foot in a Lowes store again. I'm sure they won't give a damn. That's why they employ people like that guy. read more
